I was just wondered if anyone else is doing it monthly like I am. I'd love to see some videos or blog posts on this method instead of just weekly ones!

I'm hoping to this year but I am not sure I took enough photos in January to even cover one two page spread! I just finished all of 2012 where I was doing weekly, so I think I was a little burned out. But I am hoping to pick it back up for monthly layouts this year. |

I'm doing it monthly. I'll PM you a link to an article I wrote about it for another website.
ETA: I'm having a hard time sending a PM, so I'll try later. If you can, try PMing me, and then I'll reply with the link. |

I am. But unfortunately, my page protectors are still out in the postal delivery neverland waiting to make their way to me.
I have my photos, my album, and some kits made up to use with them, so I am just waiting for my package to arrive to start January. |

I do a two page spread for every 2 week period. That's about perfect for me to capture enough of the "everyday" but not so much that it's boring For us, a month would probably not be frequent enough and I'd only get the special occasion stuff that way. |

I am doing PL monthly and loving it. I don't mind looking at all the weekly stuff, I just modify it to meet my needs and I don't date everything.

I'm just starting out, but plan on letting PL expand and contract depending on how busy we are and how good I am at documenting the everyday that month. January is looking to be one page. So far, I'm thinking February might by more. We'll see. |

I'm doing it monthly! Just starting PL. I haven't done January yet. I've been sick for almost 3 weeks but I plan to order my pictures this weekend and get started. I have an older kit I've never used and I'm going to just pull from my stash and the journaling cards from the kit I have. I am definitely going to blog about it when I get going on it but it will be next week. (www.tracieclaiborne.blogspot.com)

Unfortunately, I don't have any pics/videos to share, but I am on year 4 of PL. The first two years, I did a picture-a-day. The last two years, I have switched over to a monthly format. At the end of each month, I typically do one layout, including inserts if I have extra pictures to include. If we have a special event/vacation/etc, I just add in another layout after my monthly layout. For example, we had a busy month in October, so I have several PL layouts:
- Oct 2012 (for random pics/stories from the month)
- close friend's wedding
- trip to visit family
- baby shower I hosted for best friend
I am finding that this method really allows me to highlight the bigger events during the month, instead of just choosing a few pictures. This style works for me, because it is how I tend to take pictures. I stick with BH Design A page protectors as the "base" of my album. Then, I add in other sizes as inserts, whenever needed.

I should clarify, that while I am scrapping one month at a time, I am doing more than one layout per month. I just don't want to keep weeks together. That's not the way I want to see the photos and stories.
Basically, I am grouping photos together the same way I did when scrapping traditional 12x12 or 8.5x11 pages, but with PL style pages.
So, one page might be of a few days, and the next just one afternoon.
But I am doing all of January's photos together, then February's etc..
So if I have 4 pics of my kids playing over the course of a month, they can all go together on one page. And if we took a walk one day and I took 6-8 photos, I can still put every one of them into a page if I want. |

I've been doing weekly spreads and 2 week spreads. It just depends on the week and what's going on. I don't take a photo a day unless there really is something worthwhile to take a picture of and document.
I make my PL album the family album for the year so I'll add in extra layouts, etc. |

This is me, exactly. I have to say I have really enjoyed doing it this way, versus weekly. Last year I always felt a bit rushed, and now I have been able to take my time, be a bit more choosy about photos and to play around with some fun stamping and embellishing on journal cards. |

I'm actually going to mix monthly and weekly. Jan and Feb have been slow, so those are monthly, but March has a two week trip to Argentina, and my garden coming to life (I'm ridiculously plant loving), April and May will probably be monthly but from June to August will probably be weekly because so much happens in our summers. I don't know if it's "okay" or not to go back and forth between monthly and weekly, but I keep hearing that Project Life is about telling your story your own way, so that's what I'm doing.

I am still working on my 2012 . I used a monthly format. I think it was just too much stuff to pack into a 2 page layout. I often ran out of pockets or filled them all with photos and had no room for journaling. I just don't think it gave me enough room to capture a well rounded view of our year + the ever day.
I might try 2 pages per month for this year! I'm all ready getting behind! yikes. |

I'm dividing my pages into months, but I'm adding pages as I take pictures. No stress, no pressure. So far I've done 18 pages(including 2 8x11 full page LOs for my DHs bday). I am in LOVE with doing it this way! |
