Good evening, Sorry to be posting late but this morning I also find out my father is in hospital. It is his liver but he is doing better since this morning. He had to stay there for bit for them to run tests. I'm not sure on what exactly for but I'm going out to talk to mom in bit.
I'm working on my weight loss journey and have been pinning some quotes and things I want to use. I saw this and thought it was perfect..
I'm planning to print it out to put in my book.
This week, i'm still doing LOAD. I actually got two layouts in process on my table that I am hoping to finish tonight.
My goal for this week is to do exercise by using youtube 2x and continue drinking water.
Is there any suggestions you want to work on as challenge or to chat about? I'm still working on couple topic ideas. Let me know.
well, little one is fussy and want to be held so i'll be back tomorrow to chat.
Have a great night. |

Michele, thank you so much for starting the thread. It is a relief to take a break this week, just take it a bit easy as I'm putting my life back together. I love the quote you posted.
Mom is doing surprisingly well. She told me today that she is eager to see what life holds for her next, although she felt guilty saying that. I told her that it is a positive thing to say. Dad is gone and we can't bring him back. So even though we are grieving, we need to look forward as much as possible rather than focus solely on the past.
I agree with Mom, I'm looking forward to the rest of the year. Will be interesting to see what opportunities come our way. Today is the first day I've felt like cooking anything since Dad died. It feels good to be trying new recipes again. This one was for Sour Cream Noodle Bake. It is good, but much too salty for me even with as many substitutions as possible. Must Google and see if I can find one I can adapt better.
Michele, I'm so sorry to hear that your dad is in the hospital. Hope he feels better soon! Praying for him.
I'm not making any specific plans for this week yet as I know there are a number of difficult errands we must do.

This is such a healthy attitude. God Bless you and your Mom as you navigate these first weeks without Dad.
Michele: I sure hope your Dad's stay in the hospital is a short one; that they get answers quickly and that healing starts soon.
I've been busy in the scrap room, working on something a little bit every day. I will try to upload a new project later and link it here. I have a goal of completing 20 layouts before my next shopping trip. I will start counting from the start of the weekend; I think I have 4 but will have to double check. At this rate I may have to reevaluate that goal and increase the number of layouts. I am also challenging myself to use SOMETHING on each layout that is SO OLD I can't remember when I got it.
ETA: here's my latest layout. The patterned papers are so old I have no idea when I got them...I think they came with me from Maryland! More Perfect Shots (SCUBA layout) |

Michele - hope your dad is recovering quickly.
Betsy - I missed your previous post about your Dad passing, I am so sorry for your lost, and please know you and your Mom are in my prayers. She seems to be dealing with her grief in a very healthy manner. It is a time of change, so embracing it positively is good.
As for me, I did journal a few months worth last week, hopefully will be able to get back to that shortly. I really need to make the time to upload and print out some photos!
As for the weightloss journey. I think I last posted that I was officially below the 20 pound mark, then I went above it the next week. so I was at -20.4 pounds, then gained 2.4 pounds! (but I wasn't feeling the best and was very bloated, but I didn't eat that great the week before... and it was really the jump start I needed to get my butt back in gear with my eating habits!) then the next week I lost 3 pounds, so I was again under the 20 hurdle. And last week I lost another pound!
It really is a struggle for me to not eat fattening and sweet foods. I am not sure how I will do long term off of Weight Watchers. I really like the sweets. I just need to find the time to move more. And moving more should be easier as I weigh less and less each week. So that is my goal, to move more as I weigh less.

Leisa, Marilyn and dogcarbon, thank you!
Michele, any update on your dad? Hope he can go home soon.
Marilyn, that is a neat challenge for yourself. And what a fun layout!
dogcarbon, I struggle, too, with the fattening and sweet foods. Had a small Cinnabon at Burger King this evening. It didn't taste like a Cinnabon to me, though. Was not worth the calories. I must remember that next time I go to Burger King. |

I don't know how I missed this thread. Michele, I hope your dad gets better soon. Betsy, I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
I'm still good with drinking lots of water and exercising. I have had a hard week so far and have been so lazy about cooking. I've mostly been making sandwiches. I'm sure that I'll eat some candy tomorrow. I definitely will try not to overdo it.
Does anyone have a special snack that they eat when they scrap? I used to treat myself to little chocolate covered pretzels when I scrapped. I found myself wanting to scrap a little too much, LOL. I need to find the perfect scrap snack again.

I've got a new goal. TAKE PICTURES. I have been so busy taking pictures of the children in Scrap Club that I have actually run out of my own personal pictures to scrap. This weekend I'm taking pics of everything!! |

Sorry to hear of all the sick folks out there...we are (thankfully) passing through winter relatively unscathed, as far as colds and flu go. Hope to make it to the end that way.
I did a little scrapping over the weekend; will come back and post a photo once the sun is a little brighter outside. I learned my LSS (which is an hour away and not truly a scrapbook store, as their selection is limited and they sell other things like Vera Bradley, home decor and custom made stationary) is being sold; no news on a buyer so perhaps if that doesn't pan out it will close. Everything is 60% off, so I picked up a few staples (cardstock, mostly) over the weekend. I guess I will become more of an online shopper if the store closes. I actually have a few things in my cart here but am on the fence about adding some Snap products, so I haven't hit checkout yet.

Hi ladies! I did not make my goal to take pictures at all! I spent the last few days prepping for future scrap club lessons and making some cute things for the school bulletin boards (Darn you, Pinterest!). I have a sinus infection that is driving me crazy but at least the antibiotics are working. I haven't been absent for almost 4 years (2 days off in 2009 when my mom passed) and I don't want to start now.
I may sneak some pics of the DS so that I can use up some of this music flair that I've been holding on to. |
