I know we all have our own way of organizing but why do some people have their boards so Unorganized. I see pinners with over 100 boards and the boards are so randomly placed I don't even try to search. I thought maybe they were not aware of the ability to rearrange them. I like to see all the food related boards together. All the card related boards together. And so on..... Probably just the anal side of me coming through. Oh well....back to pinterest. |

I think a lot of people use Pinterest as a way for them to bookmark things that they are interested in, not to create a resource for other people to use. So being disorganized to you doesn't really matter to them much, since they likely aren't making their boards just for you to use.  I bet if Pinterest permitted accounts to be private, there would be more people who would take up that option.
Also, once you start following someone, all of their Pins just show up in your feed and I find I rarely go to their master board list to see what else they have Pinned.

^^^^ I agree with biochempea. I have my boards in an order that makes sense to me. The ones I use most are on the first row and then the rest are kind of grouped together. Any new boards are probably random because I didn't take the time to re-order them.
It doesn't bother me that they are like that and never really thought of people looking at all my boards like that. When I click through someone's pin, I may go through that particular board but it's so rare I browse all of their boards. | |

That's true. I do my boards for myself too. Sometimes I worry that others might find my boards in disarray and then I remember that no one cares.  |

Sometimes, I organize my boards but then I add more of them and it all ends up being disorganized again. It's like organizing your scrap supplies - you are never finished! lol!

I guess for me it's more just wanting to find things without a long search. Every related board together just makes it easier. I see some have them alphabetized which makes it easy to find things. I know I am anal and want everything in order. But then again you all might not like the way I have my boards.
One more question please. I saw in a post from a long time ago that someone was concerned about subdividing their boards into smaller boards. They didn't want their followers to lose their place with them so they didn't change their boards to their own needs. I find myself changing mine as I see fit and never thought about my followers---not in a bad way but it just never crossed my mind that it could affect followers. Is it okay to be changing up our boards? |

I do understand what you are saying. All of my boards are mostly organized alphabetically because I have so many. It bothers ME when I can't find a pin I'm looking for.
I rarely look at other people's main pinterest pages and follow very few people and their ENTIRE boards. All of a sudden someone I follow creates an I love horses board, I love cats board, I love something Iscrapcrap is not interested in board. | |

For the first question, it's exactly what BiochemPea said. I just add boards as needed, and don't really care. It wasn't until I mentioned my boards in a post here the other day that I finally got around to organizing the boards the way I wanted them. "Rearrange pinterest boards" just doesn't make the cut on my usual to-do list.
Is it okay to be changing up our boards?
If a follower has chosen to "follow all," then it won't matter. If they found that particular board and just followed that one board, then no, they will not see your new board. But who cares?
Not sure what others do, but I usually "follow all" because it's easier. And then when things like women's glistening flat stomachs and hands holding nail polish start popping up in my feeds, I can click on that person and "unfollow" the offending boards. |

Lol IScrapCrap. Some things just don't interest me either and I am like WTH. But then not everyone loves teapots or Texas or lightning strikes like I do so......
Thanks Rebecca. I felt really bad when I heard of the followers not being able to keep track but you are right. I need to subdivide some of my boards again and I was a little hesitant. |

I totally understand. I know we can rearrange our boards----for those who like to---but I wish we could move our pins around in a board after they are pinned. I have chalks, pencils and markers in one board(colours) and I wish I could rearrange them in there without dividing into 3 separate ones. Dang, I really AM anal. lol |

I would love that too. I did read on there somewhere that they were trying to make that happen, and I hope they do.
I try to have my board in order per se; I have different color (red, green, blue, etc.) boards and they are all together, my food boards are all together, and everything else is in alphabetical order. |

And Pin to multiple boards at once, instead of Pinning and Pinning again.

I don't pin things to more than one board because I can't keep track of them. If it's a card it goes to cards. Not paper crafts or Christmas things. I would never find things. That's why I put that I like things simple, simple, simple on my pinterest profile. |

Just sign into your boards and go to edit profile--actually the right side of it and click. It is located right above the boards. You will get a red checkmark and then can drag your different boards around to the order you want them. Then click back on the red checkmark to save the changes.

I just wish there was a little sign that would pop up that say's you pinned this on this board already. I hate double pinning on the same board.

I also hate to double pin. I usually go through my pins every couple of days to check for them---still miss some I am sure.
It would be awesome for us to be warned somehow. |
