I got an email today about Scrap N Easel and a light for it -- Looked interesting...
I am a primarily stand up scrapper so I am not sure how much it would be used.

I wonder if you could use it on your lap?? I do alot of traveling and always struggle with holding things on my lap.

I own it and I love it. But I'm a sit-down scrapper. I don't see an advantage if you stand, because obviously the objective is to give your layout a better angle than flat on the table. It's fairly heavy, so I don't think it would work in your lap. however, because it's magnetic, it is a good too for planning your layouts, because it's easy to align and move around before you glue it all down. I think there is a video on their website.

i love mine and use it all the time, im a sit down scrapper, i think you will be able to use it while traveling as the magnets will hold the stuff and is big enough that you could put it in your lap and rest the easel to the dash board... just get extra magnets as it only comes with 16 so you your hold more stuff in one side as you work the lay out on the other side, it also brings magnetic rule...

It is kind of heavy, and may be too flimsy to put in your lap. It may work in your lap if you have a flat surface between your lap and the easel.

Dancingfish, I've been thinking about buying one of these, too. You mentioned getting an email today -- is there a special deal going on right now by any chance? One reason I haven't pulled the trigger is the cost. It just seems so overpriced for what it is. If there were a special going on, I might just do it...

I got the same email today - 25% off which makes it $60.00 OR get a lite & Scrap N Easel for $84.00. This was from ContainYaCrafts.com - no clue how I got on their email list.

Hope this helps

I have the set that is on sale and I LOVE it! Best purchase I made for my scrapping. No longer does my neck kill me when I get home from crops or spend hours at my desk. Plus the light is great for late night crop scrapping

I own one... And it works great for making double page layouts like those by Scrapbook Generation. It lines up your pages, strips, etc very well. It is heavy and I think that it really needs a hard surface - don't think that it would be the best option for scrapping on the go.
