Which is better? I want to get the program but I'm not sure which one is better. TIA

It depends what you are wanting to do.

If you are looking at using digital products, hydrid scrapping, putting text on photos - anything like that I would recommend Elements.

If you are wanting to organise and manage your photos, I would recommend Lightroom.

Both can edit photos.

Are you considering PSE, too, or are you asking about the full version of Photoshop in contrast with Lightroom? The full version is almost $500 more than PSE, which runs about (~$70), so keep in mind what you want to spend and the features that matter most to you. Lightroom is $117 on Amazon right now. Are you a beginner, or have you had some experience with these programs?

I have both and use them both for different things. For organizing and batch editing I use Lightroom. I love it, it works so well and it's quite simple. For print editing, resizing, retouching, creative purposes I use Photoshop.

I want it more for creating things and adding txt and such to my photos. I've never used it before. I'm a Mac user so I can purchase any of them through the App Store.

I've been researching this very question for the last week or so, so that's why I wondered. I just freed up a ton of hard drive space, and before I never had the space to run either program.

Most average scrappers don't find the need for full Photoshop, PSE is just fine for them. I've been leaning toward Lightroom over PSE because I would love to be able to do batch editing. Right now, I add text to my photos in Phonto on my phone or Picmonkey online, so I could still do that, but I am not sure if I will want to try digi/hybrid scrapping in the future, in which case I want to lean toward PSE. I may actually end up getting both.

I like PSE, Lightroom looks like a really good first stop though if you are learning and want to edit your photos quickly and easily with all the classic "actions" that Lightroom offers.

I'm leaning towards PSE 10. I've watched some YouTube videos. That seems to have what I want.
