First I just wanna say that I'm still kinda new and learning the rules so please don't chew my head off
I was just wondering how everyone felt about this.. Twopeas offers loads of free things.. Like this message board, the garden girl videos & so on! It's an awesome community to be apart of! My question is does anyone ever feel like they have to shop here in order to take advantage of there free resources? Even if its every so often? IMO.. I couldn't in good faith log on everyday and post messages, watch videos & so on without ever shopping here.. I would feel like its not far to the company that I'm allowed to do this! Now I know twopeas doesn't have any rules against this so please don't hand slap me I'm just curious..
I sincerly hope that I have not offended anyone because that is NOT my intentions what so ever.. & please be gentle on me! TIA |

I don't feel that way at all. Two Peas in a great website with great free videos, message boards and what not. I myself could call this website my second home but that does in no way have anything to do with me feeling like I have to be on here. You come and check things out as you please

I do feel that way somewhat, I think it is only fair. However, since I have kind of a particular style, that does not seem to be popular right now I have difficulty purchasing here. I did place my first order for some sale items, and I am very pleased with it. I think I will be able to use them for embellishment items. I also want to get back to doing some more digital pages, and their digital items look like I could use them quite well and hope to purchase some of those soon.
I love Two Peas, it is a great place to hang out.

I use 2peas as a resource to the store I frequent locally. I will give you an example. I go to Micheals for things like adhesive and cardstock if I have run out and use a coupon, I go to Archivers to buy a lot of stuff but they don't carry everything. I wanted the Maggie Holmes line and they had everything but the 12 x 12 papers. They also don't carry Websters Pages and I know that I can get those things at 2 peas. I like to spread the love around. |

That is part of the reason I do so much of my shopping here. I figure it's like paying for a membership to other sites, but in addition to all the online resources I also get some fun scrapbook products. I don't have a LSS to support, so Two Peas gets the lion's share of my scrapbooking budget. If I had a LSS I'd try to support them too.

I do shop here and other sites and craft stores...We only have ONE Lss left in Orlando that I have to support!
I hadn't been thinking when I posted a thread about a chain craft store and violated the TOS.... I was in the wrong and agree its disrespectful to this site for doing so.
But I get what you're saying OP and I agree- that's why I do place orders here and plan on doing the majority of my online scrap shopping here mostly because even if you don't spend enough for the free shipping you really can't beat the speed of their shipping. |
After a five year break, I'm back baby!!! Now help Bellies get her Groove back....

I don't have a LSS or an As I only have ms & a 45 min drive to Js which only has a tiny isle of scrapbooking items! So I mostly shop online and I buy more then %90 of my items here @ twopeas sometimes if they don't have something or I don't wanna wait ill go else where.. But all in all there the best! I see people creating posts all the time asking questions like where to shop for products and such and it just boggles my mind that they are on this site but don't even know that there is shopping or they don't shop here! I get that other sites might offer different incentives like cheaper shipping maybe if they live in a different country or a discount code/ sale! But as I have said I don't think I could be a member of this site without helping them by shopping here... Even if its only one order a year! Because in my mind the only way twopeas is able to offer.. Free videos, messages boards, free shipping, sales , loyalty programs is because of us peas shopping here its a win win! |

I might shop here if shipping to Canada weren't so stupid expensive. For example, i have a $7 item in my basket. It will cost $16.79 to ship that little thing that is the size of a pen.... not going to happen. i don't feel bad coming here and not shopping here

I've ordered physical supplies a few times, but being Canadian, I find the international shipping charges a bit out of whack.
But, I have bought some workshops and I buy digital files whenever I can. I think it all helps. And the best part of digi shopping? No waiting for delivery! :tongue |

Well of course with the price of shipping for Canada is insane I wouldn't shop either.. Your better off shopping at a Canadian based store ! I remember once I was in search for the color magic file folders from Heidi swapp every where was sold out and they where on back order the only place I could find them was a Canada website the folders where $10 and the shipping was $20 as painful as it was to spend $30 on a set of stupid folders my dumb behind did it! Biggest mistake ever spending $20 on shipping that's insane! I have no idea why I even needed those folders so bad! In the end I ended up screw them up with misting them and had to throw them away!! Ugh, $30 broke ..And lesson learned lol! |

Nope. I feel no pressure or obligation to shop here.
While I do really appreciate this site and all the info and inspiration I get here I just cannot afford to spend my cash here
I will place an order if there's something I need that I can't get in a store near me. But with shipping as high as it is, I have to shop near me with coupons if I want to buy something
I will probably place an order in the next couple months though for a couple things that ice wanted for a really long time. |

I love it here. I do think we should support them by purchasing whenever we can. My plan is to purchase more here this year. I don't have an LSS, and I've had good experiences making purchases here. I also think it gets better and better. They have been very responsive to suggestions made on this board. I want to see this site stay around in what seems to be a declining industry. |

No, I really don't feel that way; but then again, overall I am not an online shopper and so NOT shopping here is in keeping with my personality. On the rare occasion that I need/want something that is not available locally, I DO shop here so I don't feel badly about using the online resources on occasion.

when it comes to scrapbook supplies I am not a huge online shopper. I don't have a LSS but I have M's, J's, Hobby Lobby and Pat Catan's all within 10 minutes of my house (M's J's and Hobby Lobby are all in the same plaza). I also have a A's about an hour from me, but don't make that trip often.
I have purchased some items here and will do so again, but with all of the stores I have locally and the coupons and sales available to me, I don't usually spend enough at any one time to qualify for free shipping.
I don't really feel bad about not shopping here more often because I seldom order scrapbook supplies online.

You are so lucky! I think I need to move now.. I wish I had a js that sold a bigger selection of scrapbooking items mine doesn't have much at all .. Not even a full isle worth of items! & its 45 minutes away! as far as hobby lobby the closet one is a state away.. No A either I would kill to have an As near me .. More so then a LSS only because of the frequent sales and coupons! Which I don't even have a LSS there's nothing but ms and AC Moore which is pretty much the same if not worse! I live in NJ a popular state I cannot figure out for the life of me why there isn't more options here for scrapbooking its stupid! I'm hoping in the future to move out of this state and I think part of my decision will be based on what scrapping stores are near lol.. I could save so much money if i shopped in store rather then online!! And I wouldn't have to wait for shipping if I hade those stores avaible to me I wouldn't shop online either! |

Jjmikrut143.... Where in Nj do you live? I also live in Nj and I have 3 joanns,2 M and 2 ACmoores w/in a short drive. HL is about an hour away. My 2 LSS have both closed. That is when I started shoping here at 2 peas. They have product here that I would never find at a big box store!!! I do like to spend my $$$ here because of all the free videos and classes they offer. It is not hard to spend $50 so I never have to pay shipping!! |

Hunterdon county is where I live.. Between bridgewater & Clinton ! There is 2 ms that are within 15-20 minutes from me , js used to be 40 mins but they moved to a bigger and further store & AC Moore is about 30 mins from me and the closet hobby lobby Is in pa which would be about 1 hr away! There used to be a LSS a few towns over a while back but they have closed and I think the closest an LSS to me is about an hr away and to me it's not worth the drive because I know some dont even carry the newest things like twopeas does! And as far as ms going well there good for some things but as you said you can't get the good stuff at the big box stores atleast not the items I'm looking for... Now if we had an As near us that would be the ultimate dream! But there isn't even any on the east cost.. I hope they change that someday! It's really quit depressing and sad that we don't have great places to shop at .. When I hear all these people being able to shop at the best LSS and As I'm like damm I wish I could go there! Even if it was 1 hr away or maybe 2 I would still take the drive!
What really drives me nuts is micahels.. Why don't they sell more named brand items .. Why is EVERYTHING in the damm store have to be recollections there brand.. I understand they wanna promote there products, but they should still sell other brands more! I like it when recollections copy's a big brand because its the same thing but cheaper! Atleast i have the Internet lol.. The hard part is having to wait almost a week for my stuff I'm soooo impatient when it comes to that kinda stuff lol |

I don't think 2 peas is getting paid per click. Now I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you have to advertise and have sponsors to get paid per click on a website. The app has no ads that appear anywhere. The main site, to my knowledge, only has banners for products 2 peas is trying to sell. |

Well whether they do get paid per click or not.. It's penny's to a dollar! I once started to make videos for YouTube and was apart of the google adds & would get paid per view, per click and so on and it's not much money at all even if you have thousands and millions of view or clicks its still penny's ..yes they add up but I wouldn't really count that as towards an income! Besides as the other pea stated in order for twopeas to get paid per click they would have to have advertisement with direct links to websites that are mainly chosen by the company that pays you like google and twopeas doesn't have that .. They have sponsors but not the pay per click.. I believe it's the other way around if your a blogger or designer you can have there store link on your page and that person will get paid for the traffic generated from their site to twopeas... It's under there affiliate policy! |

I don't feel obligated to shop here. In fact I rarely do because I can find the products locally or at another online store for cheaper. However, I do buy plenty of classes here though because they are high quality. So I guess they do get money from me each year. |

I agree with what most of you have said - you want to support the business and make sure it is here to stay. I do have a small LSS and I try to get things there, but they don't carry all the hot trendy things that Two Peas does, so I try to order from TwoPeas and also support my local scrapbook store. I only go to JoAnn's or Michael's for things like adhesive with a coupon. The quality of their paper is not very good, nor the albums, and the service is awful. Big box stores don't need my $$. Just my $.02.
Even if you don't shop here, the classes are AWESOME and there is no shipping and a great community to support you throughout the class. (and of course, you'll probably want to shop here too after you take a class!)

i don't have an lss any more.
still i have purchased here once or twice - but truly has to be something i cannot find anywhere else due to ridiculous shipping to canada.
the other pea mentioned almost $17 to ship an item the size of a pen - meanwhile i ordered 2 metal quickutz fonts (both were upper & lower case, one was 2x2 dies, other was cookie cutters so it was a good size and heavy) and the postage on the package was $19 from florida. it is impossible to believe that what we are are being offered is competitive shipping from this site.

I love the board and am thankful to use it.
I have tried shopping to support the board that I use for free.
But, every time I have added things to my cart, the shipping is outrageous, when I can get the exact same thing somewhere else for cheaper shipping or free shipping.
So, alas, I have not bought from Two Peas.
I would rather pay a small, yearly fee to use the board, (because I could not give it up!)(and I have done this for another board), than buy their products at this time.

I have hardly bought anything here (a few digital downloads, and one scrapbook album that was partially paid for with a gift certificate) but in three days I will have been here for 10 years. I know this is a great resource for those without an LSS, and if I still lived where I lived when I first started jumping in on Two Peas, I might be shopping here more, because the LSS that was near me then is out of business.
But, my current reality is there is a huge LSS less than a 15-minute drive from here. And I am a one who buys just a little bit at a time. So, even with the huge sales tax charged here in California by stores within the state, I just cannot make an online order large enough to justify the cost of shipping. |
