I paid about half of that for my ATG @ ms when they had a sale & used a coupon..they go on sale often! The refills are $9.99 for acid free and $5 for general purpose.. I use the cheaper one because I could careless about having everything acid free and I have never had any issues.. The refills also go on sale often & i stock up! I would make the Investment.. I didn't wanna pay that price for tape either but it really is the best adhesive IMO so fast and easy! There's also those small tape runners that you can buy and refill but the refills are about the same price but you get less on a roll so you would have to change it often! In the end its cheaper for a bigger gun like the ATG! |

I also got my ATG with a coupon and I look at it this way...it is going to be my main scrapbooking tool, that I cannot scrapbook without. So, the ATG was well worth it to me. |

I also bought at Ms with a coupon. But, I HATE it... It is much to big and bulky for my hands and my arthritis really, really dislikes it I only use it when I am doing something that needs to be seriously stuck. |

I would check craft store ads and wait for a sale. I got mine for $9.99 at Ms when there was a sale and a 25% off total purchase coupon. |

Also bought mine at M's with a coupon. You get 2 refills per pack and they are about $10 for acid free and less for general purpose. It actually comes with 2 rolls when you buy the gun. I read on another thread last week that M's is going to be discontinue carrying the general purpose refills.
I agree with jjmikrut143 - you could buy tape runners for about the same price but I found it frustrating to run out of adhesive while working on a project. And I would run out of adhesive more often than I thought I would when using the runners. Boo.
I usually have a pkg or two of extra atg refills and since they hold so much, it's really all you need when you run out. I just make sure I pick up an extra so I always have them on hand. I haven't had to make a run for just adhesive in a long time.
Btw, it takes a little finesse to get used to working the gun so be patient. But I love it! Especially since things do not fall off your page as they sometimes do after time or with humidity with certain other types of tape runner adhesive.
Good luck!! | |
