My boss recieved a legal size envelope in the mail today that happened to be made of a nice white vellum. So of course I had to snag it right away! lol

Does anyone remember the cute vellum little envelopes that negatives used to come in when you had film developed? A few months ago, we got a shipment of business cards in and each lot of 50 cards were in those little envelopes. I snagged each and every one of them!

That's really good of you to remember to do that. I would have totally forgotten that 'minor detail' if it were me unexpectedly faced with a gorgeous vellum envelope at the office.

What a wonderful surprise!! And yes, it IS called recycling.

I once snagged the baker's twine from a gift box of cookies my boss received. It's a nice basic brown and white twine, I couldn't let that go to waste!

I've snagged ribbons off my boss' Christmas gifts from vendors. It IS recycling, because they would have gone in the trash.

I order all of our forms at work and they are packed with 8.5 X 11 Chipboard. So yes, of course I take that home. I asked if it was ok first. Cause I love my job. Also, I have saved a few FedEx packages for the tybek-like material for album binding. It is good to upcycle

I had one of my bosses at my old job trained to save all me all the cardboard off the back off order pads, CD's for mini albums, and anything "interesting" from his mail. He was totally into recycling and knew I used it.

A vendor sent us these gold paper bags made out of some pretty shiny material I so took that home!!!i haven't figured out what I'm going to do with it. Another time someone ordered food and they delivered it in this pretty wicker basket and I took that home as well I'm going to do something with it for Easter. We are just up cycling these items that would normally go in the trash so we are helping Mother Earth at least that's what I tell my honey when I come home with this stuff.

I get special heart treatments at the hospital everyday, and the cardiac nurses save me these cardboard 3/4inch squares that are used to make sure instruments have gotten properly sterilized. They are cream colored, and work great for making my own "pop dots" or cut out for chip board kinds of embellishments.

Oh, and my kids also take stacks of them along to college to use as "3x5" cards for memorizing stuff for exams. I probably should snitch some of their used "index" study cards and scrap those too, right?

I too have upcycled from the office. Tons of free chipboard, interesting fibers, promotional buttons (flair before flair came out) and my personal favorite, a big stack of the leftover cigarette number stickers which are large and white. I recently used some on a LO for my 20 weeks preggers sonogram.

yep, recycling, I do that all the time @ work. We all got from our headoffice a special (..) USB stick that came in a nice small tin box with a small plastic window. I asked around at the office for those tin boxes and everyone was very willing to donate it for my addiction. Also they started to use digital beamers so I ended up with a nice stack of overhead sheets, which were ready to be thrown away. Same with chipboard. Lately colleages have 'donated' stuff they found and thought it might be of use for me!

I totally agree - not stealing - RECYCLING. I think you should be commended for being so green and frugal.
