What else would you do with the money you've spent on scrapbook supplies?

I'm afraid to even guess how many hundreds if not over a thousand dollars I've spent on scrapbooking. While thinking about it, I've considered all the things I could have done. One of them is travel. I don't travel, but I would like to! What would you do with all the money you could have spent on something else? This is just for fun because I know we love our addiction!

I was thinking today what a nice sitting room my office would make being that it is in the front of the house. Then I smacked my own hand for being ridiculous LOL

Clothing! I rarely buy myself clothes because all my money and time go into my hobby. I've been thinking about a spending freeze until Christmas. I just have two more lines I want to buy and I'm done!

Some months and years I've spent way more than other, but in the 13+ years I've been scrapping, I'm sure I've spent a the small fortune.

Travel sounds fun, I could have gone on a few more cruises or spent some time in Germany with my husband's family.

I've also always wanted to add on a bigger dining room, not sure it would have quite been enough for that, LOL

Do one of the following:
Buy a small used car
Fly two (maybe three) people first class overseas
Remodel a small bathroom

I also have a shoe and purse obsession. When not shopping for scrappy stuff that's what I buy.

I would tour the Mediterranean!!

I'm so lucky to have had the best of both worlds. In 2006, I went on a Creating Keepsakes scrapbooking cruise in the Med - Italy, Spain, Malta, Majorca, Sicily, and North Africa. It was amazing!

I hope you get your wish someday

I don't honestly know! It has been a part of my budget for so long. I guess I would either spend it on my house or travel more.

More than likely, it would go to the kids though. My scrap stuff is really my only splurge! I don't have to dress for work anymore so I don't really buy shoes and purses like I used to!

Buy more fabric and other sewing and quilting supplies. It's really just splitting hairs, what with all of my crafty addictions.

I'd probably do more travel as well, although I already travel 3-4 times a year anyway (working my way through Europe presently). Perhaps the difference would be hiring a proper cat-sitter rather than subjecting my friends to do it for me.

I would buy designers clothes, purses, shoes and expensive makeup I'm a girly girl at heart. Also, mini trips to places, since I love to travel. So, the money still wouldn't be setting in a bank account unfortunately.

I guess now the $ I used to spend on scrapbooking goes to my trainer at the gym.

I have a lot of scrapbook supplies but I have been scrapping for a long time. The most I probably spent was $40/month when I subscribed to a kit.

Now I am happy with a few new sheets of paper, a fresh journaling pen or a stamp set a few times a year!

Last year when I was not scrapbooking much I spent more money on books for my Nook (I've since signed up for a library card!). I also would probably spend more money going out to bars, eating out, treats from Starbucks, and clothing. Now when I think about doing most of those things I usually decide I'd rather save it for scrapbooking.

I've thought about this before. Lots of women I know buy lots of shoes and what I deem 'fancy' purses (name brand, over $100). I don't do either, but I wonder if I would if I wasn't buying scrapping supplies.

Maybe a lot of therapy sessions, which I don't need since I scrap?

In all seriousness, I do prioritize experiences (travel, theatre tickets, activities, etc.) and scrapbooking for my disposable income, so maybe I would just take more trips or go to more shows? I'd like to say I'd buy a really nice camera with dream lenses and accessories, but I don't know if I would do that if I weren't scrapping.

I have been married for 13 years, started scrapping about 18 months after that. I've had the mentality most of that time that I had to spend money on scrapbook supplies to keep DH (a chronic overspender) from spending it on something I didn't want!

If I weren't married to a chronic overspender, I think rather than not spend it on scrapbook supplies, I would have spent it on different supplies. A Cricut instead of 1,000 sheets of letter stickers, because I could have saved up for it.

I could have travel

I love lighthouses too.

I would travel. There are so many places I would love to see. I would also spend it on house projects. We have kind of a lemon of a house (lots of issues, too many for only being 8 yrs old). I would put it towards that. Actually, I am on a spending freeze. Another scrappy online friend and I have having a no buy challenge for this whole year. So, I will be putting this extra $$ towards my house.
