Hi Everyone...I'm hoping someone out there is more proficient with cricut stuff than I am. Does anyone know how I can test a cart to see if it was ever linked? I am not set up on Cricut Craft Room...so I'd prefer not to have to download that just to check. I read on a cricut blog that you could plug the cart into your gypsy and it would ask you if you were sure you wanted to link it...is this true? I've not linked any of my carts to my gypsy yet. I don't want to link this cart because I want to sell it. But i want to be sure it's not linked. Any suggestions/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!!!

I would try it on your Gypsy. If it comes up asking you to link it, I would say it's not linked.

Use your Gypsy and put an image from that cartridge on your mat. Then try to cut it. If the Cricut asks you to insert the cartridge, then it's not linked. If the Cricut cuts it just fine from the Gypsy, then you have already linked it.

I'm not sure we understand your question because you got two answers based on different things you may have meant.

Are you wondering if it's already linked to your own Gypsy? You can see a list of your own linked cartridges on your Gypsy if that's what you mean. If you need to know how, I'll go through the steps.

But if you mean you bought a cartridge, want to know if someone else has ever linked it in the past (and you know you haven't linked it yourself), then that's different. If you go through the process to try to link it to your Gypsy, it will stop you if it's already linked. However, if it's not linked there's no way to stop from linking it at that point. The Gypsy asks you FIRST if you want to link it, THEN tells you if it's unlinkable. Does that make sense?

So if it's the second, I don't know how to help you.

Thank you all for your suggestions. To clarify- I purchased the cartridge used and want to be sure it is unlinked. I DON'T want to link it to my gypsy as I would like to sell it. I just want to be sure it's not linked first. Does that help to clarify? Thanks again for the feedback

The quickest way is to hook it to the Gypsy and hit link it will ask you if you are sure. If this comes up it has not been linked to a Gypsy, The Gypsy always double check before it links a cartridge. if it has been linked to another Gypsy yours will tell you so. Good luck.
