So I store my paper horizontally on shelves (jetmax cubes) & I stack them by manufacter .. Even though they are organized on each shelf I still have to flip through a ton of paper each time I'm looking for something.. I wanna put some kind of dividers In between the catagorys So when i need to get to a section i can lift up the divider piece easily.. but I'm not sure what I should use? I was thinking about getting those PL monthy dividers that BH makes because they are thick plastic but I would need a lot and I'm not sure it would work that great.. So I was wondering if anyone has any ideas? What do you use to divide your paper when you store them laying flat? Any advice would be great thx

do you not like them vertical? Because you could flip the cube on its side.

Can't store them vertical as much as I would love to.. I don't have the room.. It wouldn't work with the way I have it set up now.. I already thought about that & as far as the craft containers go my paper takes up almost all of the shelves as is if I used those I would need more cubes or have to spend a small fortune on a million craft containers because I have a lot of sections.. I want something like file tabs to divide the sections but I can't just use file tabs attached to paper because its not durable enough & I can't think of anything else to use other then the BH plastic dividers that would be a good example of something I'm looking for.. I guess but something that flips down so I can see it

The craft keepers are plastic pockets, not containers. But I guess it's not something you want anyway.

Could you make your own dividers?
I would try pieces of cardboard or large sheets of chipboard (like what comes at the back of a paper pack), then add your own little tabs made from cardstock?

i was thinking the same thing as honeybee. i store mine vertically in cropper hoppers and use the dividers between manufactures/lines. don't see why you could use the same dividers horizontally.

I'm having a hard time visualizing what you're describing, but I was also going to suggest pieces of chipboard or cardboard. Or maybe you could devote a few page protectors to each manufacturer so you could slide everything for that manufacturer out at the same time?

Picture a stack of paper on a shelf I want something I could slip inbetween papers with some kinda tab or label that hangs or sticks out a little so I can just lift it up and grab what I need from each section..

I tried clicking on the link and it just brings me to the home page of js but ill google the dividers thanks!

& yea I don't want to put my paper in a plastic sleeve, container, or whatever else.. It seems that its to much work for me or space on my shelf... If my paper was vertical then those vertical plastic storage holders with tabs would be perfect.. I'm just looking for the tabs I guess you can say! & I wasn't sure if they sold them without the plastic dividers.. I also thought about using chipboard and attaching file tabs to the ends I have a stack of heavy chipboard in 8.5 x 11 size but it seems like every time I try to make something like that it never turns out as planned lol... Just like the USPS boxes turned into paper storage when I tried to do that a while ago it looked so cheap and crappy I even tried to cover it with paper and still hated it! I guess if I can't find anything ill attempt to create it with the chipboard!

Thanks for the suggestions!

I would get pieces of cardboard to use as dividers and then use the post-it labels on the cardboard. Would be cheap and easy.

Here are the labels I am referring to:

I don't know if cropped hopper still sells them for their paper holders, but they made dividers to go in your CH holders. They are bigger than 12x12 with a tab. Just a large piece of plastic, something like that might work for you?
I store mine in CH verticals and use them to divide my bigger paper brands by collection.

Have you thought of using regular 8 1/2x11 file folders? Lay them flat (now 17x11) and cut them to 13x11 and fold down the first inch ( with the tab ). I use those for dividers because they are pretty darn cheap and the missing inch doesn't matter much.

I do what duchess does, too. Sturdy and cheap and available. You can cut them to any size that suits your shelving units.

Yes something like that is exactly what I was looking for.. Until the pea just gave me the idea of using the file folders!! Thanks! I never thought of it.. It's perfect & cheap exactly what I need! I don't mind spending money if need be I would just rather spend the money on scrappy stuff not storage lol.. Off to staples I go!! Thanks again
