My LSS is having a garage sale this Saturday. I've bought two 6ft tables and could probably use two more. I'm being ruthless with what I'm getting rid of. No "But I might use this someday" crap.
But I'm sick of sorting and pricing. can't wait till this is over and I have a nice fat check.

Hope you gets lots of $$ for your efforts. It's a huge job to go thru things and make that decision to "let it go"! I did some of this earlier in the year, but need to get back to it as I'm hoping to pare things down quite a bit so I can fit into a smaller space. Good luck with the sale. Maria

Ugh, the pricing is the worst part. But it all adds up. Price to sell, get rid of it...and count your $ !

And it it PRICED TO SELL. I have two crates of paper and its 10 sheets for $1. Sticker sheets are either .25 or .50 cents. The only stuff I'm individually pricing is embellishments, tools, stamps, and pre made layouts and albums.
When I did one a few years ago I made almost $500. Fingers crossed for a repeat if that.

That's really cool! I'm glad you made that much!!

Does your LSS give you cash? or store credit? I've always hesitated when they give me store credit because the point of selling (for me at least right now) is to GET RID of things vs. have the store credit to get more! LOL!

I agree. Our LSS gave store credit only. But we did not have to pay for space.

Good luck with your sale!
Our store gives you store credit and takes 15% as well as you now have to pay $5.00 for a product # to put on all your items!

This store lets you choose. If you pick store credit they keep 10%. If you opt for cash they keep 20%.

I'm doing the same thing tonight as you... DD and I just finished picking up the living floor as we had made piles of themes and then put each theme in 2-3 bags depending on how much crap I had that fit that theme and then I added in bags of buttons, brads or ribbon that matched.

Ok so just had to post back. The garage sale at my LSS went really well. They opened it to customers at 9am and it was STEADY till after 1pm. I just got the call with my total and it was just under 400$ after their cut. So I'm happy. Luckily I only do this every 2 years or so, man it's time consuming!

Congrats on the successful purge & sell! Do you have to use the cash in a limited amount of time (that would bug me, as I'd want to hang on to some for the next CHA).

Maybe it's time to ask before purchasing, "Do I love this enough to use it in the next month?" to avoid the next episode? Of course, it's also nice to have options, so it's however you like to do it; I'm just sayin'....

Gem Girl. I got cash, not store credit. It's going towards a trip in July. Hopefully I can't put it in my savings account and forget it is there for a few months.

That's awesome! I wish there was a scrapbook store around here that did the same! I have to try to find buyers through my blog and facebook and friends - a yard sale might work??

Congrats on all the cash - now buy more scrapbook supplies right?

I feel like I am perpetually purging something in my scraproom but the only way i can think to stop it is to stop shopping! ahhhh - not that!
