My husband wants to know what all the hype about mustaches is. Could someon e please tell me when it showed up in scrapbooking and why?

No idea. I think it's silly and not something I would use.

I think it's funny but not something I would use in my scrapping!

|Posted: 3/30/2013 7:22:45 PM|I never really got the whole mustache thing either but then I realized that my Grandfather always had one. (He called it a cookie duster). I would like to find one nice PP with a mustache on it to do a rememberance page. He has been gone a very long time now but I always loved his mustache!!. That is the ONLY reason I will ever put one on a LO!!

I always associate it with the prostate cancer research fundraiser so, I think moustaches have a place in scrapbooking. I don't really "get it" as a random trend though.

I like the mustache but I have never used one or bought one. Not sure how I'd ever incorporate into my stuff.

I have 4 boys and they love putting on those mustaches from the dollar store and silly hats and then fake little glasses just to be silly! They look like little old men! It cracks me up so of course I have to snap pictures! I have only bought mustache Washi tape though!

|Posted: 3/31/2013 6:21:16 AM|I recently crossed that line and made a non-Movember moustache layout (here), to with pictures from a moustache-on-a-stick photo booth. I have to say the little addition of that die-cut on a stick made a big difference to a bunch of women at a crop embracing a photo opportunity! They were all definitely out of their shells and giggled through the whole experience, and you know how tough it can be to get scrappers to step in front of the camera! Seeing that happen made me give it a big - maybe it could be the gateway to taking pictures next time without paper shapes in front of our faces!

my 10 yr DD is obsessed with mustaches, so I broke down and bought some stickers, the title of the layout will by "I Mustache you a question" and it will be a fun interview type thing of what each kid is into right now, and we'll stick the different styles of mustaches on everyone's faces,
she also has no explanation for it, but there could be worse things for them to get hyped up over

I first started seeing the mustaches pop up as a trendy/hipster motif a year or so ago and that has now made its way into scrapping. I'm not a fan at all.

I think it is a cross over from some hipster style. My oldest is kind of an accidental hipster. She went to a mustache party where they all wore fake ones. Kind of a silly fun thing to do.
I haven't used any in scrapping because there are no men with them in my family. My brother has a goatee but it really doesn't go with the scrapping stuff.

I made a whole bunch for photo props (clay, on sticks) for my brother's wedding reception back in 2010, so I love seeing all of the mustaches everywhere.
It's like any other trend... Owls, kites, mushrooms. Doesn't have to be literal.

Ir doesn't bother and they've been around for a couple of years. You really see a lot of stamps and embellishments now. I found an old picture of my mom at work at her desk and she pulled her hair across her face to make a mustache, it was the funniest thing. I scrapped the picture for something else, but I plan to re-scrap it with a mustache theme soon.
