Has anyone completed this class, if so, what do you think? I am on the fence...I just bought a class at SC, but this looks really tempting!

I bought one at studio calico and then turned around and bought this one too
I haven't had a chance to really dig into it, but from what I've seen it looks really good.

Honestly.. I didn't think it was that great! No offense AT I love you and your work.. But the videos were all less then 10 mins long, no details of anything at all.. Yes I know that its a mini class and its half the price but you get more out of the free gg videos then this.. Most of the PDFs were the same content as the videos the first video is supposed to be about mixing supplies and theirs no show of supplies or details on how to mix them or wait collections go with what.. It just shows her doing one layout with different supplies which almost everyone does.. I don't I love every class I have every taken from here but this one was just kinda pointless in my opinion I feel like if it had more content or atleast more demonstration or explanation of products and other things it would have been worth it!

Thanks Jennifer I'm sorry you didn't like it. It's really hard to tell from the sneaks whether or not it is something we will enjoy. I wish they could give a video sneak also.

Sorry, but I feel the same as the other poster about this class. The content of the videos was exactly the same as the pdf's. I really could have just done with the videos, but I do appreciate all of the effort taken to create the class.

I still haven't had time to really look at it. Been busy studying for a test on Thursday. Now I hate to even open it back up because it sounds like I may be disappointed

I really appreciate these candid reviews. I am tempted to take the class and pay just for the cut files. how lame is that?

I bought this class. I'm a huge fan of AT but also feel it really didn't have the content it could have had. Love watching her work but there was not a lot of explanation to me. I would still check just about anything out she does! I'm still a fan!

My question (??) is what the heck is the difference in a "mini" and "full size" class?? Do you think maybe this should have been a full size class instead so that there was more content?

I'm not sure I really understand the whole "mini" class idea

I've taken a lot of the workshops here, both the full workshops and mini. The full workshops have 5 chapters, and all of the ones I took except one the videos were between 20-30 long for each chapter.

I've taken I think 3 mini workshops, and they have 3 chapters. In those chapters, 2 out of the 3 workshops had videos that were roughly 20-30 minutes long.

I sent a trouble ticket asking for a refund. I have only taken one other workshop here (Divide & Conquer) and loved it because it had new information. I love AT and her 2Peas videos here - but feel like the free ones had much more 'process' than this class.

(Sorry, I hate giving negative reviews but just trying to be honest)

The AT Collect and Create (full workshop) videos are also under 10 minutes. I think she just makes short videos.

Do you mind giving mini reviews of the other workshops? I've taken a couple, but I'm on the fence about a few others.

I scrap multi-photo and mostly 2-page layouts using PP, kraft or colorful CS as my base. I'm not in to what seems to be a popular trend of a single page white/light background with 1, maybe 2 pictures and lots of stuff clustered around it with quite a bit of white space on the page. I do like some of the ideas I see but really only apply little bits of it here and there to my pages. It sounds like this class might work for me, showing me ways, as the title says, to Mix It Up with the supplies I have. This class would not apply specifically to single photo, single page layouts, is this correct?

IMO, since a mini workshop is only $12, I think they're all worth that. I love to watch videos, so the workshops that have short videos are the ones I find somewhat disappointing. BUT...I think each workshop has so much inspiration, either from the "instructor" or the contributors, I've gotten a lot out of all of them.

It's been a while since I've rewatched any of the workshops, so I can't remember what each workshop had that I liked or was disappointed in specifically.

I just watched the videos, and I have to agree that I found this workshop to be pretty disappointing.

There were 3 videos, each running between 8-10 minutes. The first video, IMO, was the best in that it showed the process of making a LO and using products from various companies. But...there was no explanations.

The second video gave a brief, and quick, look into editing some photos. The process uses iPhoto and Photoshop. Before this video I'd never heard of iPhoto, so I didn't even know what it was and I was lost with that. And, if people don't have Photoshop, they'll be lost during that segment.

The last video showed pictures of some projects.

Since this was a mini workshop, I knew the content wouldn't be the same as a full workshop. But this was actually the 4th mini workshop I purchased and I was disappointed.

I didn't like either, too basic and the videos are made in a quick way.
I loved Wilna's class ans Magie's too, amd this is so far from good.
Sorry AT, I do love you but your classes need something new.

I found it quite basic...

Thank you all for your honest reviews! I think I will pass on the class and put the $12 towards supplies or a new stamp set.

I will be another one to add that this mini workshop was disappointing. I do love AT and her work. If I knew it was going to be mostly her sharing her projects with no real instruction or process videos, I would've saved my $12.

I dont agree with the reviews so far.

I've taken the mini workshop with Lisa and Maggie's class and so far I think this one is better for me. I find Amy's teaching style very motivating and inspiring, I often create more while I am taking a class from her than otherwise.

I just finished chapter 1 and she covers a few key things, including how she approaches mixing supplies, she talks organisation in the handout, about how it related to the class. She also gives a mix formula for each layout, which i really like for trying to use the ideas in my own layouts.

I took this class thinking it would be something a bit similar to her book from Northridge that just came out and it totally is. Full of great Amy classic layouts, ideas about mixing your supplies and tips of how she makes her layouts.

If you are expecting Shimelle's teaching style you will not get that, they teach differently, but if you have taken a class from Amy before, then I doubt you will be disappointed with this one, it is right on her usual quality.

In terms of the video length, I feel like people sometimes think longer means more content, and that isnt always the case. Amy's videos are snappy and to the point. I think it is a taste thing, some people will like that some wont. I like variety, some GGs make great long ones and some make them short and sweet.

I am not saying its the best thing since sliced bread, it is only a mini workshop, not a full one, but I am finding it to be fun and inspiring, which would be the two things I most expect from an Amy workshop.

Wilna's class is a very complete class. In every chapter she showed more than 3 projects with each techniques. If you love watercolors, gelatos, doodling, stitching and a very good content this class is for you.
If you don't like it, I compromise myself to refund you the 25$!

Amy T is a fabulous scrapbooker! I adore her products to bits and her pages a lot as well But I have to say, I've signed up for a few of her classes in the past and never felt like I got anything out of them. The content was all very very basic. Which would be great for someone just starting out or wanting to branch out. This isn't to say she isn't a good teacher! I just think I'm looking for classes beyond the basics.

I need to start a thread about classes for seasoned scrapbookers. Those of us who use washi and mist. Know how to add photos to a single canvas in photoshop to print, etc.

For me, Wilna's class really exemplified the "next level" for me. I learned a lot about a few mediums I had never explored before.

I have to agree with a lot of what Ruth said, but maybe i am i am just different in that i hate long videos, I would much rather watch a short and to the point one than a really long one, in fact i am really bad at just switching them off.

The PL serious is perfect for me as you see the layout and its like 12 minutes or something, perfect length IMO

Thats what i love about Amy's videos too

I am just inspired by her work so much and how much she loves what she does. I ended up doing 3 layouts and the base of a mini in the first day the class went live , love it

@luckycorinne - that's a serious recommendation I've really enjoyed Wilna's classes. The next time in the mood to scrap all day, I think I will buy her class. THat's what I love about 2Peas classes (vs SC) - the classes are always there.

I really love Amy Tan and her work, but felt this workshop was lacking. Just not enough substance for me. Believe me, I'll still buy my share of her lines because I find them very usable!
