I'm finally starting my All About Me album and I have no photos of just me with both of my parents. Nor does my DH with both of his. Our parents have passed years ago, so I'm totally grateful for the photos we do have with our parents and other family, but it never occurred to me while my parents were living (and even post their divorce) to get a photo snapped of just the three of us.

This is why I love snapping photos of kids in my family with their parents whenever possible at Family gatherings.

So, how about you? If you have more than one child, are you remembering to get a photo of yourself with them individually, as well as a group?

My mom passed away last summer and it makes me sad how few photos we have together. When I was growing up she was always the one behind the camera (and had 4 kids to wrangle) and in more recent years she was sick and not wanting to be in front of the camera as much. Definitely makes me more aware how important it will be to me when I do have kids to get ones together. One thing I will say is that the few I do have are some of my most cherished images.

Cinderella- so sorry you lost your mom last summer. And yes, I too am cherishing every photo of mine, even the blurred ones (lol).

I have one or two when I was a baby. Same for my siblings.

After we got above the age of one or so, it's all family group shots. What there is of them. We have very few photos. My parents both hated getting their pictures taken and didn't have much interest in taking pictures themselves. My mother almost always scrunched up her face in photos too. Thanks, Mom.

I don't think I have any photos of me with my parents when I was older. I think my last one is when I graduated University at 21. My mom died when I was 22. I have photos of me and my dad together quite a bit before he passed away.

With my kids we take family photos of the four of us at every birthday. We take a photo of all of us with the Birthday child with their cake. We have done this ever since their first birthday. We always get a photo of all of us during vacations together.

ONE!!! I have one of us when I was about 10 and we were on vacation. My sister must have snapped the pic or she would have been in it! We only have about 4 family pics ever unfortunately and my Dad has been gone 20 years now.

No. I have a picture of my mother and I but none of my father with me or with my mother and I. Both of my parents are gone so I will never have the opportunity to get one.

No, neither of my parents like having their photos taken. My mom is extremely un-cooperative when it comes to taking photos of her.

I do have one of DH and I and my parents from about 10 years ago that I am rather fond of.

These sorts of prompts are always a good reminder. I made sure to get a picture of my mum and dad with the grandchildren on my dads 85th birthday recently, and my mum and dad were delighted to get a copy too. They are perfectly healthy but you never know what is ahead of you.

Wow. So I'm not the only one without. I have a teenage relative who's parents never married. So I've made a discreet point to gather the three of them together for a quick photo during milestone occasions such as her graduation from middle school, for her to have for future.

actually I do, it is from my wedding day. I insisted on having the pic taken because my parents were divorced at the time. But it is my only one, been married almost 35 years.

I do have recent photos with my Mom. Every Christmas I make sure to get a photo with my Grandmother, my Mom, my daughter and me. I love to look back at these photos.

I think there is one photo just of me and my mom, besides one or two vacation photos. She has been gone 35 years now, since I was 21.

My sister's and I have 17 years between the youngest (me) and the oldest, with 11 years between the middle two daughters. All the same mom & dad. My parents had "two" families, and there is no photo of all four of us girls and our parents.

I try to be sure to get photos of my son's and my dh and I at least on the holidays now. Especially on mother's day & dads day.

I don't - isn't that crazy? Now we have photos of the corn dog we ate at lunch but back then my mom wouldn't dare waste film on anything, now give her camera to a stranger to have them take a pic. The world sure is changing...FAST!

I made a layout and called it Family Portrait. It was my parents, my sister, our dog and I standing in front of the garage door. Everyone in very casual clothing. We never had any formal photos taken as a family. I was thankful to even find this one that a neighbor snapped when she was standing in the driveway talking with my parents. I journaled about just that, no formal photographs of all of us.

We do, from our wedding day. I don't think we have any more recent of just either one of us with our parents. In fact, the only more recent picture I can think of that has both my parents in it is on my brother's wedding day. Probably there are others, but it seems the vast majority of photos either are of one of them, or if they are both in it, someone else is too. I can't think of any more recently than our wedding for DH's parents at all. I think I have two sets of photos of DH and his dad, and dad with two of his siblings, and a bunch since my FIL passed away of DH and Mom.

In the last years of my mother's life, because I knew she was sick and time was limited, I made a point of taking our picture together as often as possible. Now I'm doing the same with my dad.

But my poor brother did not have a single photo of himself with our mother since he was a baby! When I was doing the video and photo tribute for her funeral, I had to do some creative editing to get what appeared to be shots of just the two of them.

I have a couple of pictures of me with my mom and I treasure them! She always hated having her picture taken, so I don't have many pictures of her. She passed away in 2004, so those opportunities are lost. I have a couple with my dad, but they are not the best quality, so I'm going to insist on some individual pictures next time I see him. Thanks for the reminder.

I wish I had more pictures of me with just my siblings. I have a couple of pictures of me with my 2 sisters, but I can only think of one picture with my brother included. We lost my oldest sister 2 years ago, so again, opportunities lost. (My sisters are 9 and 12 years older than me, so there aren't a lot of pictures of all of us while growing up.)

I have a bunch of all three of us when I was a baby/kid (I'm an only child) but nothing more recent. My dad hates photos but will take a couple with dd if forced. I'm not too close with him, so I don't mind really. My mom and I have a ton together, but this reminds me that I need to take more of her with dd next time dd visits them (they're very close, but if I'm not there they don't think of photos)

As a young child, yes, since I am the oldest.

At my wedding, birth of the children, some other milestone events, I do have photos with just us.

I made an all about me album several years ago and it cracked me up when my just turned 5 year old asked why I had so many pictures of HIS grandmother and I said that she was my mom and he said "I'm going to look into this. She can only be my grandma!"

I probably have at least two dozen of just myself and my parents together, though the last one is probably several years old. I'll rectify that when we visit them again in a couple of years.

I have about a dozen of my daughter, husband, and I together. Probably more. Once my son was born, getting my daughter out of the photo became a huge challenge. We have to sneak them in when she isn't here. We do, however, have lots of one parent with one child photos. They are far easier to take!

When I was teaching we did curriculum focused family days instead of holiday parties that consisted of themed centers around the room that students and their families could do. I took the opportunity to take pictures of each student with their family members. The pictures went home as part of a student made photo album at the end of the year. The parents that helped out weekly I usually put the picture in a simple frame. Over the years I had many parents comment that it was the only picture they had of the child and themselves.

I do have several pictures of me and my parents, but none recently. Definitely something to do for the next visit! Thanks for the reminder!

Thanks for this thread. I actually have no idea. I can't think of any, but maybe I do have some buried away. I definitely have bigger family shots that all three of us are in.

My parents are alive, but they don't really like taking photos, so that's always a challenge.
