So I was over on the NSBR Board and someone was looking for a Sentimental Gift Idea for their DS. Well, I'm looking for a gift idea for my dd. She's graduating in June and I've decided that I am going to make/have made a quilt from all of her Color Guard/Band T-Shirts (just have to confiscate them)But I was also thinking of her Facebook photos. She has a LOT of photos on their that I don't have. And if I don't get them printed off she will never have them. SO...to make my long question short. Has anyone ever printed off their or someone else's Facebook photos? And of I DO decide to do this do I have to download each and every one I want printed, or is there another way of doing this? Thanks!

And yes, that was more than one question.

My MIL prints the pictures I post on FB. I am not sure how she does it, exactly, but she is really not tech-savvy at all, so it can't be overly complicated. I think she just saves them to her USB and takes to the grocery store. I've seen the prints in person, and while they are certainly not quite as good as the full file sizes I print, they are really, really good looking! I was super impressed.

Thank you for responding...maybe I should print out a few and then look at how they turn out.

Thanks again!

I have printed some of DS FB pics and I saved and uploaded them. He works at Disneyland so got some fun ones in his various costumes since I don't see him working when we visit. The quality wasn't the best but served my purposes.
I'm not very techie so will watch to see how others do this.
BTW I love your idea for gift as I'm sure your DD will.

You're welcome! Give it a try and report back.
I think one variable that might affect the print quality is the upload size -- I click that high res/big file box (or whatever it says! I can't remember...) when I upload.

Now I need to "choose" some which is the hard part. And then I have to HIDE them lol.

Some of these pictures I've never seen because I don't go look at the every time. I think there are about 1500. Sounds like a lot, but those are from 8th grade through 12th.

Thanks again everyone for your input!

Walgreens has a print from Facebook option. I have not done it yet myself but I did notice the option last time I ordered prints.

I print off pictures all the time that my kids put on facebook. I just click the options button under the photo and then save to my computer. From there I usually put them in my pse and crop or brighten up the color, then either print from there or save it to a new folder then upload them to costco or walgreens, whoever is cheaper at that time. They always turn out great. If they are pics taken with a phone, I found they print the best at 4x6 or smaller.

Thank you ladies! I really appreciate it! I just went into her Facebook Album and chose a few photos to experiment with. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

Yes, a friend of mine passed away from breast cancer a year ago. I wanted to do a scrapbook to remember her by (in addition, after she passed away, a lot of her friends posted photos of themselves toasting her on St. Patrick's Day - her favorite holiday, which also was the day she passed away).

I viewed the photos, selected right click and saved them in a folder on my computer, then I uploaded them to Shutterfly and ordered the photos - they came out just fine. I made a scrapbook out of it on the anniversary of her passing.

So, you can save the photos that you want the same way.

I print just about any picture I want from Facebook. I just click options and download for any other pic I want, then edit it and upload it to send it off for printing.

I tried to do this with photos from my grandsons page.
Just be aware that some photo processing places machines will not recognise the photos if the resolution is low.

I had no trouble with some but others wouldn't even show up on the screen even though I could see them on my USB at home.
Same thing happened to some other people when I was there this morning, none of their images would show. I did hear the guy tell them to try Kmart or Big W so maybe bigger places have different machines. (we were in a photographic store)
In one way I am glad I discovered this as now I'm rethinking how I upload some of my photos to Facebook- to stop a certain person from printing off my photos!!
Good luck!

I have printed my facebook photos directly from Snapfish before. Once I connected my Snapfish account to my facebook account it lets me search for and print pictures from my page or any of my friend's pages. I do agree with some of the other posters who've said the quality isn't quite as good as with a full size file on my computer, but sometimes it's the only access I have to those specific pics. It's not awful quality by any means...4x6 looked normal, just enlargements or signifcant cropping gave me trouble.

Good luck!

Jill in Texas - thanks for posting this question - I had been wondering if I could have prints made from photos on Facebook - will definitely try it soon. Now I have bookmarked this thread ... and thanks again.

I just did this for some pictures that brother and sisters posted to their FB pages. I didn't use the Print from Facebook option at Walgreens. I saved them to a file on my computer. Then uploaded them. Most came out great. Some came out dark. Some were a bit too low res and are a little blocky by the eyes.

You can do it from the Walgreens app but it costs $0.29 a print...normally $0.19. Looks like can apply coupon codes. There are often coupons for $0.10 prints for over a certain number of prints.

I do it all the time. I have a mac and just grab and drop them to my desktop. Have made collages with them using Picasa. I print at home. Enjoy!

I occassionally print photos from Facebook if it's the only way I can get the image. On my Mac I just drag and drop on my desktop, on a PC I right click and save.

Like others mentioned the biggest issue with printing from FB is resolution. Most pics aren't uploaded at a very good printing resolution since it takes a lot longer. The images are good for viewing on a screen but can get grainy if you print them, especially in bigger sizes. It can really vary in quality depending on the image. If it's a choice between a mediocre quality print and not having the image at all, I'll typically suck it up and print the image anyway.

I do this fairly regularly. Not my own too often, as I have them from the cameras. But I print photos of my GKs fom my DSD's Facebook page or blog from all the (most of) times I'm not there with them, and just more recently I downloaded my friend's photo he posted on Facebook of an event at our church, which I will print soon. Have printed this friend's photos before too.

My daughter prints pics all the time from her FB and she does it at Target!!! Thats how I get most of my pictures of her girls to SB. Most of them are very clear but once in a while they are alittl blurry. That dose not stop me from using them though!!
