I am wanting to do a shadow box that I got from Hobby Lobby for my grandson and one for my granddaughter.

The boxes are just under 8" wide by 11 and 3/4 tall with a glass door.

This is raw wood. Do I paint the outside first? And do I put some sort of protective finish on the outside of it? If so, what is best?

How do I go about putting scrapbook paper on it? A glue that won't bubble underneath it.

I am using Bo-Bunny paper , the "Week-end Market" is what it is called for him and " Once Upon a Springtime" by Graphic 45 for her.

Any help is so welcomed here...cause grandma isn't sure what she is doing...Thank you in advance...

P.S. How do I post a picture here to this site...do I have to go to an outside site to upload my picture first and if so, what site is good out there to do this ? There are so many...

Only paint the boxes if you want them painted and there will be parts that are not decoupaged. You can seal everything with mod podge or another decoupage glue when you're done. I would use mod podge to glue the paper on. The key is using the right amount--not too much, not too little. Use a thin layer of the mod podge, smooth it out (I use old gift cards like a squeegee). Get out all of the bubbles. I let it dry completely and then put the coat on top to seal.

To post a picture, you can do it here in the gallery and then copy and paste the link between these... [image ] [/image]

(but take the space out between the first image and the bracket....or just hit the image link below and paste in the URL
