Just curious how everyone shops for their scrapbooking supplies. If I am watching a GG video and I see supplies I like sometimes I write it down although it is on like a scrap piece of paper and I normally lose it. At times I will just browse the shop but then I get distracted or I realize that some products catch my eye more during videos rather then just a picture in the shop. What do you all do??
Keep a list?
Just add to your cart when you like something?
I always feel like I am missing something!

Then when I am ready to place an order I go back to my wish list and shop from there. I feel I make better shopping decisions this way then , when I just shop from the store spontaneously. Every so often I go through my wish list and delete items that no longer interest me.

I just add what I like and then sometimes if I have shopped too much I noticed I bought duplicates. Oh well, I'll use them eventually.

I should add that I too shop a lot when I watch Glitter Girl Video. I usually add it to my cart from the product list below the video so she can get credit and when I have enough for free shipping or they over 20% off coupon then I submit my order.

I am sure I am in the minority, and I am not sure my method would work for shoppping online. I just buy what I need for particular layouts

If it's not a must have item but I may want it at a later date, I just move it to my wishlist. Same goes for items out of stock.

Exactly this! If too many items of a particular collection are OOS, I'll move the entire collection to my wishlist. If I still like it when everything I want is there, I might add it to a future order. Otherwise, it's a sort of portion control. ROFL

I add things to my wish list as I see them. I often click on the New Arrivals for the past 48 hours or 7 days and add to my list.
When I'm ready to place my order, I move things to my shopping cart.

I use Evernote or I add it to my cart and then paste my cart list page into Evernote. That way if anything goes out of stock and falls off the cart, I still have the list somewhere
|Posted: 4/16/2013 9:20:37 AM|I add to my wishlist. For me, it is easier to look through my wishlist and add to the cart, rather than trying to look at the small previews in my cart. Instead of the main wishlist screen, I always go to "view the public version". It looks like the store, so that I can see the items by using "quick view". It also tells you when something on the list is already in your cart. So, if I am trying to keep my cart at a certain amount, I can just slowly add items. It also shows what is already sold out, so I don't have to carefully look to see what is in my cart with the quantity at zero. It is sort of like having my own hand-picked store to browse through when I am ready to place an order...LOVE this feature .

Add to my cart! But a lot of times I go over my limit so some gets added to my wishlist. Unless I realize I really wont get an item then I delete it.
|Posted: 4/16/2013 10:39:34 AM|I've been watching a few videos and feel I have nothing. I always add to my cart anything that catches my attention from either watching the video, something I see on I stage am, Pinterest to the cart. When I am ready to actually place the order I just move the least important things to the wish list until Ai am within my spending budget
Now that I am in the finishing states of putting my scrap room together I am trying to purchase only stuff I will use for Project Life or items in quantity or any remaining organization containers that are needed. Of course if a pretty paper line or embellishment is seen I do add those to my cart, whether in store or online.

I see things I like here. Then I think about it a really long time. So long in fact that usually its not here anymore
I don't like to spend my money on consumable supplies I have so much of.
As for tools, I think a long time then wait for them to go on sale or till I have a coupon or coupon code

This is what I do as well. I have probably 8-10 wishlists set up (staple supplies, letter stickers, stamps, experimental products, etc.) and when I see something I like, I save it into the appropriate wishlist (yes, I'm OCD, if you haven't noticed ). Then when I decide to make a purchase, I go through my wishlists and select the things I want to buy that time around. In fact, I often take a little from each wishlist - start with papers, move on to letter stickers, a few embellishments, check my staple supply stash, then decide on what new products I want to challenge myself and experiment with and so forth.
One question I have been wondering about, though, is this: when we add to cart products the GG have linked up in their videos, etc., that helps to fund them personally but does anyone know if that's also the case if we add the product to a wishlist first and then purchase later by selecting it from the wishlist? I rather suspect that it doesn't work the same way, which is really unfortunate because I like the idea of supporting the GG but with living overseas and the cost of international shipping, I can't afford to be putting stuff into my cart to buy on a regular basis and thus my use of wishlists (plus, I like having stuff saved).

My bucket gets crazily out of hand some times, and when CHA releases all arrive at once, I've been known to have something like $700 in my bucket. I whittle it down to something more reasonable!!! Some goes onto wishlist from there and some I will decide I really don't need.
does anyone know if that's also the case if we add the product to a wishlist first and then purchase later by selecting it from the wishlist?
I am pretty much certain it is only things that are added directly to the cart from the product page. If you add it from the wishlist, it would show you were inspired to buy it from your wishlist. If you add it straight from the store, it's whatever search or browse you used that 'inspired' you to buy it (like adding from the new products list or browsing by brand or searching for a key word), and if you add it straight to your bucket from any page in the gallery (including video pages in the gallery), it would track as that gallery project that inspired you to buy it.
I do a mix of...
*add to bucket while watching videos from other Garden Girls or looking at pages in the gallery that list products
*shopping from the 'what's new' list, usually from the last week or so.
*searching for specific collections to bring up the whole collection then pick the pieces I want.
And I add all to cart, then whittle down from there!

I add to my cart or wishlist but I also write it down. I like to touch and feel so if I go to A's I'll look for what's on my list, make sure I like it and then order from here.

I keep a running list of things I see on videos, advertisements, layouts in the gallery, etc that I would like to try.
Then my staples are also added to the list.
And then when it's time to buy, I usually throw in one item that I want to try on impulse.

Usually coordinating products are included in the GG list, but if not, I will search for that line and maybe select some things from it that way.

If I'm inspired from a GG, I will add items directly to my cart (and probably check out soon after). If I'm just looking through the store, I will add things to my wishlist and later transfer them to my cart once I've mulled them over for a while. (Does this suggest that I trust the GGs taste more than my own? Ha! Not really the case!)

Occasionally I'll note something but mostly I look through my stash before an order and see what I need in what color. On my last order, I looked through my mists and realized I had no true or lime greens. For paper, I look at what I have and what colors I think I'll need for a particular season.
I enjoy the videos and the products probably stick in my mind to some extent but I don't shop directly from them.

I add everything I like to my cart and when I have the money to order I go through it and delet things I no longer want and put other things on the wishlist until I can afford what's left.
I do look at new things in the store every week, I also follow links in the newsletters, and add things from the supply lists by the videos.

|Posted: 4/22/2013 11:18:09 PM|Well, I must be weird...I head straight for the sales first, and I usually go shopping if the NSBR and GS boards aren't holding my interest!
So while I'm waiting for something worth a read to pop up on the boards, I'll skip around the store for whatever sales catch my eye. Or, if someone mentions a cool product in a post, I'll go check it out.
Usually the sale items will get me to look at what's NOT on sale in a particular collection, so I'll load up on some of those pieces too. And inevitably something else will catch my attention!
My technique seems totally random, but I actually do keep events and particular photos in mind as I'm filling my cart. Once the goodies come, I'll break them down into page kits or by theme and then pull the photos I had in mind to scrap.

I make a wishlist at CHA time, and a wishlist at mid-show release time with my favorites from all the manufacturers. It's a Word document. I choose from that when I'm ready to make an order. If I see something at Two Peas that isn't on my list, I'll just add it straight to my bucket.
