|Posted: 4/30/2013 11:42:48 AM|I just got back into scrapbooking recently(oh how I missed it!) and wow is there a ton of new things going on!! PL, smash books, Mist, Washi tape??? I've done a little research on PL and I think I might be ready to start it The only thing is it's almost mid-year. Would starting now be a no no? Is this something you want to start Jan 1st? Help! lol

|Posted: 4/30/2013 11:55:18 AM|I say start whenever you want. I just did a gift album for someone that incorporated fancy 8 1/2 x 11 pages and then PL pages. Each fancy page had a theme (baby turning 1, day at the stables, and getting sleepy). Behind each fancy page were PL style photo spreads each theme. The album was very well received, and I just did themes instead of starting with the baby at the beginning of the year. I am going to do my new album this way, and am going to start with our vacation we just returned from last night. I say start anywhere! Think if the things you may miss if you wait until 2014.

|Posted: 4/30/2013 11:58:09 AM|I started Project Life just before Easter and I'm loving it. It's about docmenting the every day; I don't think you have to wait for a new year. Seize the moment!

Better to start now than wait in my opinion! For some people it would go against their OCD, but you could consider this 6 or 7 months of practice if it bugs you not to start at the beginning of the year.

|Posted: 4/30/2013 1:25:13 PM|PL isn't meant to be a photo a day. It's really just a different way to scrapbook. The divided protectors and journaling cards simplify the process. It makes it easy to scrap those little snip its of life that don't necessarily warrant their own page. My albums are a mix of divided and regular 12x12 pages. I just love scrapbooking this way at this poing in my life.

I started in may 2009 - I missed the boat on the original kit and it took me a little while to figure out how to DIY my own kit. I am so glad I did! I say go for it!

|Posted: 4/30/2013 1:48:26 PM|I am actually planning on starting small and do a mini summer version of Project Life.
So while the kids are on summer vacation, I am going to cover those weeks in an album. I figured if they want to help with it that would be fun, too.
Then if I keep up with and enjoy it, I may jump in the for the whole year in 2014.
So I say whatever works!

Go for it and have fun!

|Posted: 4/30/2013 3:14:11 PM|You can start PL whenever you want. There is not certain date or time to start and there are no rules. You can do it weekly, monthly, or just random dates. I love doing PL!! Hope you have fun too!!
P.S. And the brand I work with are the Becky Higgins kits. Right now I have Seafoam and Clemintine. I plan on buying 5 of the 7 new kits she has coming out in May. I like the kits, because everything is done for me and the colors go together...just stick them in the pockets The only problem I have with her current kits is that there are too many quantities of the same design. Her newer kits don't have this problem as she has over 50 designs and fewer cards of each (the current one has 25 each and the new ones have like 10 each-total of 616 cards) I do however, mix in some 3x4 and 4x6 cards from the Sn@p Collection as well as Elle's Studio.

|Posted: 5/2/2013 8:40:57 AM|I'm so glad you asked this question as I've been thinking about doing it as well but wasn't sure if it's a yearly thing. I'm hoping that I got my Canon Selphy for my birthday because I think once I get that it will make it a little easier to keep up with the printing of pictures for it. So in reading through all the posts a lot my questions were answered. So now I'm anxious to start looking into products and starting. Maybe we can share what we are working on

I say go for it! I decided to do a sort of trial run in a Studio Calico Handbook album, and if I like it, I will probably move up to 12x12 next year and incorporate my regular layouts and PL into one album. Have fun!

Jump right in with it...you won't regret it! It's a great way to document the everyday.

I started mine on my birthday in October 2011 to document my life at 50.
I did mine monthly and ended up running it through December 2012.
I never saw starting so late in the year as a problem. For me, it helped develop my style and see if I liked the PL way. Some months had 1 double page - some had lots of inserts depending on what was going on at the time. I've got some 12x12 layouts in there too.
I used a WRMK album and pages and just used my stash to make my own cards/inserts and some other journaling cards - there's lots out there!
I say go for it!!

I've never done PL; started Project 365 (old name for PL; first or second year it was out) and last all of three weeks!
This time I plan to start on my birthday and document my 50th year on the planet. But I don't plan to do a picture a day but DO hope to document at least a monthly layout. I also hope to do it as a bit of a journal; that is, heavy on the stories.
Good luck OP...it's your scrapbook, so do it how YOU want it.

I absolutely think you could! I organize my regular albums as annual albums, but "annual" means early March of one year to early March of the next year (I mostly scrap SO and I, and that's when we met). I don't see any reason not to do it with PL.
