I'm starting an 8x8 postbound gift album for my MIL and I'm not sure if I should go with one collection throughout or do totally different themes, papers, etc on all the layouts. What are your thoughts?

Is the album one theme? I usually stick to a single paper line in a smaller gift album. It kinda depends on the photos though

The album will only have one or two pictures in it when she receives it. The rest will be layouts with no pictures so she can add her own. It's hard to know what kind of pictures she would like to add so I'm thinking I will just go with something neutral. I just finished the first layout. I used the DCWV Luxury Stack so I might just keep going with that.

If the album does not have a theme, you could go with anything. Does your MIL scrap??

What kinds of photos does she usually take? Travel, grand kids, her hobbies?
If she mostly takes travel photos, I would go with more adult papers, map papers and try and have one consistent color throughout out with a minimum selection of background papers and vary the accent papers.

If she takes photos of the grandkids, more colorful paper themes, but with one consistent color.
