I own a LOT of stuff including electronic die cutting machines, Project Life accouterments and tons of other stuff.
I just need some encouragement to get back into scrapping and using up my stuff and using my cutters and other tech things.
This is a shameless plea for encouragement. I hope you will forgive me.

Is the block that you're overwhelmed? Not feeling creative? My solution would be to watch a video or two....
|Posted: 5/6/2013 6:10:01 PM|You've already taken the first step: Acknowledging that you want to scrap!
When I have the desire to scrap, but feel unmotivated or overwhelmed, I just pick a photo that I love and go at it, being as silly, creative or wild as I want. In this day and age of digital pics, it's okay to experiment because you can always have the photo reprinted and do it over again.

If you are looking for help with using your die cutting machine. I'm thinking about gifting that to myself for Mother's day.

I really like the challenges for motivation. Right now I am doing the faux LOAD May 31 challenge here on Two Peas. The daily prompts help me to focus on a goal for that day's layout.

Then move on to another, with different tools and supplies.

When I stopped scrapping for awhile, it was hard to get back into doing it. I found a couple of scrapping buddies, and because we set aside a couple days every month to scrap, it got me going again.
Any chance you can find someone to scrap with you?

Photographers are violent people. First they frame you, then they shoot you, then they hang you on the wall; but if you're real good, they will scrapbook you!

Look through your papers and use whatever you find prettiest/most inspiring. Sometimes I feel a lack of mojo because I feel the need to catch up, but if I 'give myself permission' to play with the pretty new stuff, the mojo comes roaring back and pretty soon I'm cranking out all kinds of stuff old and new.

One of favorite piece of advise on getting started came from May Flaum. She suggests the if you are really uninspired you make something ugly. That's right. Make something ugly on purpose. This will free up your creativity. I tried it once and it worked!

BeckyK I say all you have to do is just decide that you are going to create something. Even if it a diecut that you want to use on a page in the future.
I would love to have several diecutting machines (well the silhoutte in general cause I have a cricut) but if I did have one and I had the time and photos I would be do something with it. Even if it isn't scrapbooking. I believe as long as I am doing something with what I have (other than collecting dust) then I am not waisting $$. And that usually is my encouragement to do something. Often times I am working on something for the kids and school and then I start creating something scrapbook/card related.

Do you have friends that craft too? I find I do more when I am with a group. If not, are there crops at a LSS you could go to?
I moved a couple of years ago and just couldn't get into card making so I started a group and it is so much more fun!

Glitter Girl videos are my go-to, too, when I need a little nudge. Or an episode of Paperclipping Roundtable.
I would pick a gem of a story and get it down on paper. Nothing builds the habit like seeing and enjoying what you've made!
