Target opened in our city today. I'm not going near it for a few days.

What should I look at when I do.

Target in Canada is new, I'd like to see if good USA stuff I'd here.

So enable me?????

What were the scrap albums talked about?

The Target that opened near me in Ontario did not have any scrap supplies, just a children's art department. I even asked an employee because I thought I must have missed it. I hope your Target has a scrap section, let us know when you end up going.

Target is awesome for many reasons, but to me their scrap section is not one of them. The usually have some various American Crafts pads, Thickers, and albums. Some clear stamps and tools by WRMK, and some other odds and ends. There is the random neat find like Dear Lizzy roller stamp or Amy Tan paper pack. But otherwise, bleh.

Oh No! Are those albums any good?

Our LSS closed this past summer. I was hoping for at least adhesives.

Look in the stationary section or office supplies. You may find washi tape(paper tape). Also WRMK albums are sold in many US Targets. If you keep asking long enough, they might start selling SB suppies. I hope you find some things you love. I have bought alot in my Target...Beautiful ribbons, brads, buttons and pads of paper.

Check their $1 bin section (if they have one). You can usually find small storage containers, stickers, post-it notes, etc. Hope that helps!

I'm in Toronto and went to the closest one a couple weeks ago and was very disappointed, the SB section was very minimal, prices not that good and I can find the same items at Michaels and use a coupon

I don't go to Target for scrap stuff...most don't have good selections. I go there for the $1 spot, kids clothes and clearanced home decor. Maybe your store will be different but don't be too disappointed if it's not!

My Target has a lot of lovely American Crafts goodies (Dear Lizzy!) and they change out the AC seasonal items often.

Our Target has AC items as well. But AC Moore is next door, with a bigger selection.

Our Target has AC items as well, very limited. They do offer a lot of storage options. But AC Moore is next door to our Target, with a bigger selection.

My Target in Canada has no scrapbook stuff. I did however pick up the washi packs (in the stationary section) because they were a good deal.
I love their organization and home departments.

Target is great, but not for scrap items. Every now and then they get something "fun" in however, it's not a good price. They used to have a much larger selection but that changed a few years ago. I always take a peek, just in case but it's rare that I buy anything.

Canadian Pea here, and none that I've/friends have been to have had any scrapping stuff... Had a small aisle that had a few photo albums, but not scrap albums... They didn't have any art/craft stuff either... They had art stuff for kids, but it was crayons, those large plastic beads, colouring books... The Zellers that used to be near me had a better selection of art/scrapping stuff so I'm disappointed...

On the other hand, it's kept the excitement of crossing the border to go to Target alive!

Hope your target has scrap stuff. I just found the Amy Tan and Dear Lizzy roller stamps at mine. That's probably the best stuff I've ever seen there.

I love your cartoon. It's most likely so true.

Thanks for all the input.

As far as I know there are no AC Moores in Canada, there are also no Joanne's, no Archivers, no Hobby Lobby.

Nothing at the Canadian Target here! There are all sorts of roller stamps (SC, AC, Lizzy) at my local Home Sense recently. Home Sense is also selling pkgs of Thickers averaging $3 each, all old though... Their SB section is growing, but none of the recent fun stuff!

Target just opened today here in BC, too! I can't avoid it, the kids NEED t-shirts since they've outgrown practically everything. I suspect we won't fare any better out west than in Ontario for scrappy stuff, though.

Thanks for the tip about Home Sense. It's a 45 minute drive for me, so don't stop in often. I'll check it out next time I'm nearby.

I don't buy any scrapbooking items at Target unless they are on sale. I think their prices are high and I can do better at Michael's.

That cartoon is so true!!! Target's sb section isn't as good as it was a few years back but every once in awhile they'll have an AC item I can't find anywhere else (like the date stamps). In my area, one Target is next to M's and the other has a J's a few doors down. Target has stopped reinventing the wheel and doesn't even try to compete in the sb section anymore.

I was at Winners a month ago and they had a bunch of AC card stock packages... Sixty 12x12 papers, and they were priced at 7.99... I went to the other one near me, and back to that one a few weeks later and they had nothing... Same with the Home Sense stores near me... It's either something wonderful or nothing... Worth checking out though...

Melissa, our opening was a 'soft' opening. The big, official 'grand' opening is Victoria Day weekend. I only heard about it by talking to someone who works at the mall. They might be open in Vacouver as well. From what I've heard, they're not fully stocked yet, just working out glitches before the big opening.

Target is awesome for many reasons, but to me their scrap section is not one of them.

Mine (in Wisconsin) does have a small amount of scrap book supplies. I often go past the section (found near the cards and wrapping paper) when I'm in the store but rarely buy anything. They do have some adhesive but I don't remember what kind. I do like the WRMK albums they carry. It is actually the style I use but their color selection is limited.
