Happy weekend! I don't plan on getting up early tomorrow so I am going to post TWO challenges for the weekend!

Todays challenge we are going to talk about handwritten vs computer generated journaling/sentiments. What do you NORMALLY do on your creations? Today I challenge you to do the OPPOSITE, switch it up and see how it goes. So if you usually handwrite whip out the computer and/or typewriter and see where that leads you and if you are a computer gal then hand write today. Make sure to link back here in case the gallery is hiccuping again!

For tomorrow, May 12, Mothers Day, Let's celebrate a special woman in your life WITHOUT using ANY girly colors, no pink, purple, or pastels, no flowers, no girly girl things. Can you do that?

Chatter: Rate yourself in order of what you do most and why: shopper, purger, organizer, creator. I think this one will be super interesting!

Happy Mothers day to those celebrating tomorrow and happy remembrance for all those that have passed.

Thanks Crystal and Happy Mother's Day to you too!

I like these challenges!! I haven't computer journaled on my pages in a VERY long time... just takes so long. So, I'm intersted in giving it a try. Color challenge should be interesting too!

For the chatter, I am

1 - creator! I scrap as often as I can
2 - shopper for sure. That's one of the best parts of this hobby!!
3 and 4 - go together for me. I organize a lot and I always purge at the same time.

Hope you all get some scrapping done today!

I think I have evolved since I started scrapping in 1996. First I was a shopper, A LOT. I still shop, but not as much because I have so much stuff.

As I acquired more stuff I have had to be more of an organizer- particularly since I end up buying a whole set of inks, paints, stains, stickles, sprays etc. in a bunch of colors and those need to be organized. I just bought the Harbor Freight spinner for all my sprays, mists and stains. (It's fantastic for these.)

I have always created, but it tends to go in spurts. I am most creative after I do a big organizational effort.

I NEVER purge!! I find I often use something from long ago as part of a page. I scraplift a lot, and it inspires me to shop my stash for stuff I had forgotten about.

Happy Mother's Day to all! Love these challenges! I usually hand write my journaling but I bet I can fit more on with typed so I'm trying to think of a topic with lots of journaling! Debating if my special woman will be Mom or my sister. Sis isn't very girly so she might be my best bet!

As for the chatter question, honestly I am a shopper, then creator, the organizer and then purger. I'd probably add 'Pea'er/blog reader first though because I seem to do that more than any of the rest! Fun question though! I am hoping that this challenge gets my mojo going so much that the first two switch!

What a day, what a day! Today was DD 1st Communion. It was such a special, awesome day! She looked so beautiful I could barely contain the tears. Can't wait to get those photos scrapped!

I didn't get any scrapping done today, but as is life! But for the chatter question: This is an interesting question for me bc I really don't consider myself any of them! lol- I guess if I had to choose one I'd say creator. The creative process is the part about this hobby that I love the most. I shop when I need something or really, really want something but I don't have a lot left in the budget every month to do a lot of shopping. Oh, but how I could if I had the means!! lol I do love to be organized but as I shared the other day my craft room is in total ruin so I'm not an organizer when it comes to scrapbooking. And purger, not so much! I hang on to every scrap, misc. stickers from packs mostly used up, old pp that no one would ever buy today. You never know what you might need or when you might find a project that would be perfect for all those scraps! It's the teacher in me...we NEVER get rid of anything that might be even remotely useful!!

I didn't get anything scrappy done today but I did get in lots of cuddles and memory making with the kids and hubby. I also got to Skype with MY mom for Mothers Day and she opened her gift and cried, so I guess she liked it! LOL!

Happy Mothers day to all of you, biological, adoptive, step, etc. If you have ever loved a child you are a MOM in my book!

Happy Mother's Day!! The only thing I did scrap related today was take pictures and make memories. We went to Discover the Dinosaurs with the 2 youngest kiddos. At least now I can scrap photos of my dd and use those lovely dinosaur stickers I bought lol

I also got half of my face painted like a butterfly and wore it to dinner later. Then to walmart. It was interesting to see all of the varied reactions. Several people thought it was a huge tattoo. It wouldnt have been so funny but I kept forgetting it was painted because I couldnt see it and then I would wonder why people were giving me such strange looks and I would give them one before I remembered. Learning experience lol

Today is my 1st mothers day as a new mommy so that is really special. we plan to go to church and then for Mother's Day lunch. I will be taking lots more pictures. I will never run out of pictures to scrap. Ever.

Looking forward to trying some of these challenges! Especially the unfinished LO's.

Chatter: I am a shopper, a creator, a really bad organizer and a collector. Purger is not in my vocabulary All of these are time restricted and include my 4 month old. I think that is self explanatory. But oh how I wish I could get organized so I know what I have!!!

I made a layout last night of my daughter and me at her college sorority Moms Weekend. I used pink paper because I'm wearing a pink and black cardigan and Sarah is wearing a black dress. So I'm afraid I didn't follow your prompt of using nontraditional colors. Oh well, I at least completed another layout and used up some Girls Paperie paper and embellishments that I've had for awhile.

This is how I would rank myself:
Creator- I love to create layouts even though the majority of them are scraplifted from design team members. I'm not artistic but I do enjoy crafting.
Shopper- I used to shop a lot but have radically changed my spending habits the last two years. I'm trying to make a dent in my stash instead of buying more stuff.
Organizer- My SB room is pretty organized so when I break down and buy things I have designated places to put them.
Purger- I usually don't get rid of anything. I'm trying to purge by using it up.

Since FAUX Load started, I've made 9 layouts and four recipe pages. I have another one planned to work on tonight so I'm excited that I'm keeping up.

Man, I have been sick sick sick this week. I did get a big order in yesterday (new Crate Paper!) so I dragged my butt out of bed to play. I've gotten 6 layouts done this month and I'm hoping to get caught up this week.

As for the chatter, I'm a creater first, shopper second. Those would probably be reversed if my financial situation was different. Organizer is a distant third and I'm not sure I've ever purged anything. I just add new piles I'm sure my desk is similar to an archeological dig site.

Here is my day 12 challenge. Scrap girls with out girlie colors. I did cheat a little, as I did use some flowers on the page. But, that's OK!

I've been lucky enough to play in the orchestra for Wicked twice in my career. In 2010, the conductor let us bring guests into the pit, so my girls got to watch the show from the pit. It was an amazing experience!!

Thanks for looking.

Oh my! Here is my day 11 and 12 layout. It was such a "do new things" one for me. I hope you all like it!

By the way when you upload your creations you don't have to go back to the original day (unless you want to!), just link them up on the current days thread!

Monday is tomorrow, I will post it in the morning! I hope your weekends were fantastic! Maychallenge11and12

My page to celebrate a special woman in my life is a double page layout from dd's sorority Spring Formal. I started out with best intentions using brown, tan, maroon and gold. Well, I needed more papers, and you know what light maroon is? It kind of looks like pink! And then when I thought it was finished I added some small Prima flowers. I guess the challenge proved to be too much for me! But I did get a layout done! Yay for the prompts!

Now at 9/31 of Faux May31 challenge

Here is my day 11 challenge. I did journaling inside the little frame. I've done all the challenges up to this one, except the finish your page challenge, as I didn't have anything to finish up.
