So last week on the last day of the month I decided to bite the bullet & purchase the Maggie Holmes class kit for this month I love it so much, I was torn between hers and Marcy's but I went with Maggie's.. Well Studio Calico just sent me a message stating that..

Some how or some way when I purchased the class kit that they were actually sold out of it & that they put together the same kit for me but a few things they couldn't replace like the white ribbon & the pink tag is a little bit larger but the same color.. So because there was a mistake they decided to send me Marcy's kit as well to make up for it!!! OMG.. I was over the moon thrilled when I read my email I couldn't believe how generous and thoughtful that was of them.. I have always had a great experience with them and have always been happy with the products I recieve.. I know there's a lot of controversy about there kits but its situations like this that equal it out!! I'm so grateful that they are sending me the extra kit & couldn't be a happier customer and just wanted to share my joy

Congrats, Jennifer! I doubt you'll be able to change the "hater's" minds, but that's very generous customer service on the part of SC.

Yay for you! And out of everything in Maggie's kit (which is gorgeous), the white ribbon is no big deal, and neither is the pink tag. Enjoy BOTH of your kits!!!

I know.. To me no biggie them creating a new kit and shipping it would have been good enough for me.. But because they went that extra mile of sending me the other kit I will forever be thankful I was like a little kid when I read the email ...I swear I did the happy dance especially because I really really wanted both kits too

And did they charge you an extra 3.9% on it?

Wow good for you but geez they left out a stamp of mine from a kit I sub to in May and I have to wait until June' kits to ship because I guess the $3.00 to mail it right away would have broke the bank lol! Not really sure why I have to wait to get something when it was their mistake, it is stuff like this that makes people pissy. I get ticked when customer service/response is wishy washy.

LOL@ the 3.9% surcharge too funny and what a crock that charge is!

While I've been disappointed in the way SC has been lately, I'm not a hater. Be great full that you got good customer service and not bad customer service as it seems lately they are giving out bad customer service more than good. I've gotten pretty good customer service myself. Just bummed that I spoke my opinion maturely about June kit only to be scolded especially after spending $300 last month there.

I'm not a hater. But I'm not sure about their customer service. I sent a conversation yesterday morning asking to cancel my sub and a second one this morning since I did not hear back and several people commented on a thread over there that they cancelled before the 20th last month and were still charged for the June kits. Still no response. When I'd contacted them previously about a question they were very quick to reply so I am wondering why the delay when responding to a request to cancel my sub. I have plenty of time before the 20th but so did the other folks and they still didn't get cancelled. Just concerning, is all.

It is cool and great that they gave you the second kit. That's a good customer service experience after a mess up on their part so its good to hear they fixed it for you.

Hopefully they can start turning things around. I hate to hear of any company that is struggling with any aspect of their business at this time with our economy the way it is.

I do not want the scrapbooking industry to go down because of dumb customer service mistakes!

They had a lot of leftover kits that did not sell. Lots of cancellations this month... Easier to move it than count it for inventory!

Enjoy your extra kit! At least one person out there is happy.

I don't hate them, I used to love them and had always got good customer service. I would defend them and wonder why so many people had problems and then I aired some feedback I had and they blocked me. It was neither abusive or rude (and a number of people have said that to me) and they just blocked me. I have tried to contact them 5 times since asking why and if I was going to be charged cancellation fees and they have ignored me. So it seems that SC actually hates me.

I am happy to hear you had a good experience and enjoy your kit and have fun playing with it.

@mandalika Totally agree you were not rude, hey are you sure you are still banned because I was for several days too and then one day I tried just for the fun of it to log back on and I was able to. Not that it changes my mind about quitting SC lol

@missmermaid yep I am sure they were left with a ton of kits

Oh speaking of so called great customer service did everyone love their "sorry badge" that SC gave for the screwed up labels. I am sorry but that had to be the lamest make up product ever but some are raving about it on the boards

My friend didn't get a stamp she ordered off of the last call sale because they had oversold it but all she got was a credit, I wonder how does SC decide who gets a replacement, who get a credit and who gets a message saying oh the stamp set from your kit that is missing will be mailed with your next kit, when the company makes an error it all seems to be a guessing game as how a customer's problem will be resolved.

@ Brickle that is great you got a new set but not sure why that is amazing as I would hope when a company sends a less then perfect product it would just be a good business move to send a defect free replacement for no cost as it was the company's mistake, just my 2 cents!

Have to agree with canadianscrappergirl here about the replacement package. I recently got a faulty alpha set from another online shop and they sent me a free replacement set too. It's just the way it has to be when a shop screws up.

I'm not pointing at SC when I say this, but we as consumers have to be aware of customer service standards and hold shops to them when they make mistakes. We shouldn't be made to feel grateful when shops sends replacement for faulty items - that's just fair business.

So I'm actually quite happy to hear of how SC handled the original poster's situation - giving a full second set _in addition_ to the ordered set is good customer service. (I personally have had bad experience with them, so you could call me a "hater", but I can admit to them having their moments)

@MissMermaid - I also would like to know what happened with that letter that SC sent you. I didn't even realise until scrprgirl's post that the original "SC at it again" thread was deleted - I didn't receive any more email notification updates and I'd thought people had stopped posting there.

I just recieved my original monthly kits yesterday (the Maggie Holmes was shipped out in a separate package ) and inside I found a brown sc bag with a note inside saying we are sorry but the Maggie Holmes kit you bought was sold out and your account will be credited with the refund and here's a little gift for our apologizes. It was a few glitz papers from a line that's a few Years old really ugly if you ask me but then again I only really like very few things from glitz anyways.. But I'm wondering ...

Why did sc change there mind and decided to create a kit for me and send it to me as well as the second kit after they already came to a solution? I'm thinking maybe it might have to do with all the unhappy customers and cancelations maybe they are trying to turn things around for all the unhappy people.. Either way I'm more then grateful for the way that they handled my situation and feel like they went out of there way this time to really fix the problem and make me happy! Weither or not they had lots of kits left over that didnt sell bottom line is .. That's still money being taken from there business because you know if it was added to last call this or next month it would be gone in a second like all of the items so I'm thankful for that

@Brickle, they replaced a defective productive with a non defective product. That is not amazing, that is the bare minimum of what they should have done. Sending something else in addition to the non defective cork alphas would have been amazing service.

If something like this happens, just email SC and let them know you can't wait that long and to please send it now. If not, just cancel and get a credit.
I imagine they send replacements of the same item is it's available, but that's not always possible.
BTW-for those who are unhappy, just speak with your money. Lots of kit clubs and online, and of course our beloved brick and mortar stores to shop from. I subbed at SC for 3 years and had very good customer service. I left due to the perceived lack of value (IMHO), and needed a change of product. I sub to gossamerblue.com now, and am SUPER, SUPER, HAPPY! Great service, great kits!

I ordered an add on and ended up not having the sequins that were listed in the photo but instead some random little ribbon. I am wondering if they ran out and instead of telling people they thought if they included something else everything would be okay.

I bought a stamp on last call, the okay one and got a completely different set, one I won't use and didn't buy for a reason. Messages them but not response as of yet.

I agree this is getting ridiculous.

I just saw on their board that someone didn't receive a product that she bought and paid or in her order, and was told she would have to wait until next month to have it sent, so they could send it with her next kit. When she asked for it to be sent immediately, the told her she would have to pay for it to be shipped. I am just appalled that they are sending out 40.00 kits to some customers to make up for ribbon and a tag, but for other customers they are charging shipping to have a missing item sent.

Totally agree, I don't get that some people wasn't asked to pay for shipping, some people had to wait and some people got their items sent as soon as they explained they didn't get it. And some even got another kit like the above said, it makes no sense.

And I feel very deeply saddened that I feel like a child about ready to be handslapped or account ripped away when we talk about things maturely over there. Or even handslapped by another user. They are either responding to our threads saying here we go again. Like we are doing something wrong by talking about it in the community, it's very irritating and sad. We all spend our hard earned money there and should be treated much better.
