Hellooooo!

I thought I would pop in to say hi and introduce myself...

I'm Claire and I'm a newbie pea. I've been crafting for a couple of years, scrapbooking for about a year. I only have two scrapbook binders, neither of them finished -I think one has 5 more LO and the other 10 more give or take a couple. I just bought another binder and trying hard to stay ahead this year, but already failing miserably...

Spent most of the day organizing my paper only to realize, it seems my favorite paper company is Simple Stories. I think I need to branch out more

This board seems to be an awesome place for all things crafty. I've been loving all the conversations, just too shy to jump in, til now...

Now off to organize my scraps. I never know what to do with those

Cheers!

Hi! I'm a newbie too. I've been scrapping for 20 years but have completed maybe 4 books in that time that I kept. Mostly, I have done others to give as gifts. I've finally decided to get that HUGE box of photos into books and so I started again. Almost done with my wedding album, and I've been married 18 1/2 years.

Scrapbooks have changed a LOT since I first started. A few of my pages are all circles pasted right on white paper and stickers aren't the edges are the main embellishment. I've redone them and and gone nuts buying new stuff - the latest styles are much prettier but I have a lot to learn.

I read the design thread with interest. I agree that if you like it it's okay but I still want to learn design as it takes me forever to do one layout.

Because I have so much to accomplish, I am doing a mix of project life/page divider style with traditional layout.

Nice to meet all of you.

Welcome Newbies! My name is Melissa. I have been a crafter for 30years and a scrapbooker for about 10 years. After 10 years or so I still don't have it all figured out but I am having fun trying.

Hello ButDoctorIHatePink! Nice to meet you too! Do you get the Doom Gloom too up in Sacramento, like we do down south in Thousand Oaks??? We are socked in today
I too read the design threads with interest and try really hard to incorporation the design laws into my LO. Im getting better at using the "triangle." It can sometimes take me 2-3 days to finish a LO but Im getting better...
I have been on a bit of a shopping spree because I dont really have much of a stash yet (though my hubby would disagree). So still working on getting more papers and embellishments, no guilt yet because Im still building a stash...

Hello Honeybee13! Its nice to meet you too! Im glad to hear you are still enjoying figuring it out after 10 years, Im having lots of fun and glad to know Ill still be having fun 10 years from now

Welcome to the Hotel California.... (the next L/O I will be scrapping is my husband & I at the Eagles' once-off stadium show in Johannesburg last year. I never thought I would ever see them live!)

Hats off to the newbies who have the courage to chip in and introduce themselves- I was too chicken.

Welcome and so glad that you all have decided to jump into the conversations!

@Rambolina - there is plenty of enabling going on, so there will be plenty of chances to break out of your Simple Stories shell!

@ButDoctorIHatePink - hybrid albums of PL/regular layouts seems to be a very helpful way to get lots of photos tackled in shorter time, so hope it works well for you!

@Lahen - you're definitely in for a good time!

@butdoctorihatepink First, off that's a great screen name. I'm off to visit your cancer blog after this reply. I hope you're doing well and cancer free now.

about scrapbooking: when you have a ton to go through, it might be useful use stacy julian's library of memories as a basis for your own system. it's available on her site: bigpictureclasses.com
