Since I started scrapbooking in 2000, I have been a die-hard fan of CM's albums/pages/protectors. I just went through my stash today and figured out how many pkgs of pages and protectors I will need to order to have enough to complete the albums I have going....and its to the tune of $500! Wow, how that stuff adds up quick! I'm so bummed w/their bankruptcy and this just adds salt to my wound. Nevermind my 'stress' of figuring out what I'll do for albums after this. I just haven't come across any other company that makes such a quality album the way CM does.

Anyone else go through their CM stash and want to join my pity party?

I am at $430 before tax and shipping. Not sure if I should order it or figure something else out. Like you I love their albums. I have been dabling in PL, but I don't think the quality is near the same. I find the whole thing depressing.

And this is why I stockpile and hoard scrapbook stuff. Seriously though, scrapbook products get retired so quickly that it creates a get it before it's gone mentality. But who knew that CM albums would be one of those things? I figured they would be around forever.

I thought I was the only one nearing the $500 mark. Honestly, I'm at the point where I might just suck it up and pay it. I've tried post bound and 3-ring binders, but nothing comes even close to CM albums. *sigh*

Are you guys able to even find the stuff you're looking for? I read somewhere that folks were having a hard time finding replacement blades for their CM cutters.

I would buy... buy... buy because you know in six months the price will be triple on eBay!

I'm also shocked to hear the news about CM. Unfortunately, I'm not able to order the supplies I need. My budget does not allow it at this time. Luckily I ordered new blades for my cutters so I'm good there. Looks I'll be searching for different albums when the time comes. I'm really bummed.

They say they are not bringing back any of the current tools. They are going to try to do their preprinted Fast to Fabulous albums, so I think pages and albums will still be around, just repackaged. At least that's what I heard. Unless they totally blow it and go completely out of business. Thankfully, last year when they were on sale I made sure I had enough pages for the albums I have . Sheesh, those things add up.

I think they will be around still, but I'm sure not holding my breath.

Hi! I read the message boards almost every day, but have never posted before. However, I am in the same boat & will be very disappointed if I have to change albums. I just spent about $150 last month moving some older post bound albums over & spent $225 yesterday buying the rest of what I need. I feel everyone's pain.

I was "lucky" my girlfriend is a CM consultant so she gave me her discount but I still ended up at $435 and change. Canadian dollars so I think it's a bit higher per item here. I had to borrow the money from my mom because my scrappy budget did not allow for this!

I agree though, I haven't found ANYTHING I like better than CM albums. hat to do?!

I thought I was the only one placing a car-payment sized order! I just placed my order to be sure I have pages to go with my coversets. I've been scrapping for 18 years and, just like all of you, I've been loyal to my CM albums. I am sad!

My son just moved across the country, my daughter is leaving for college, my husband just got diagnosed with cancer - and now my albums are being discontinued. I do not need my world rocked!!!

Just before this hit the news, I found a set of blades for the circle cutter at a garage sale...I have never even had the green one( that is how old my blades are. I thought I might as well get them for $8.00. So glad now that I did.

I have a few CM albums....that's how I was introduced to scrapbooking. I guess I have about 10. I also have about 10 CTMH albums and about 12 WRMK albums.

Out of all of my albums, it's ONLY my CM albums that are completely falling apart. COMPLETELY---to the point where I'm gonna have to do something soon because it's hard to look through them because they are a wreck. And no, I don't have small kids being rough on them, either.

So I'm just shocked that y'all are so impressed with them and dying to buy more. I'm trying to figure out how y'alls are so good and mine are so much crap.

I have 8 empty albums and only 3 packs of side-load page protectors and seems like the side-load pp's are long gone.... I will probably just go back to top loading, but the reason I switched to CM albums a few years ago was so my regular albums all looked the same and that they would be around forever.

I do sort of agree with you, Kim. My CM albums werent as sturdy as I expected. Covers were great but it seems like it was the straps. I do like how nice they are when they lay flat and aren't being handled and I like that no dust could get into them like top loading. Most of my old post bound albums have held up really well, so I'll be fine going back to that.

Just placed my album order with them. Mine is small only 180.00 just need some 8 x 8 pages and one more album to finish a project I have in the works. I love the style and the concept of their albums but I scrap pretty bulky and I could never get them to work for most of my projects. However I loved the Picfolio Max albums but they discontinued those last year, that is when I spent all my $$$$ with them. I stocked up on a bunch of those. Love the fabric backing to the page and the fact that I am limited to how many pages I can put in them (makes it so I can't overstuff and put just that one more page in).

I'm also bummed with CM. I place a $200 order yesterday on my consultants website and then another $45 order with my consultant directly. I hope they continue to have the albums, pages and page protectors available after the reorganization.

Yep, count me in for your pity party too! I just placed a $300 CM order and that didn't even include all the pages I needed (only got 2 or 3 packs, since they were completely out of white by the time I ordered). So, even though I got a bunch of the albums (they're the only ones I use), I won't have enough pages to complete them all...I'm really hoping they bring some of that stuff back in the "re-launch". Supposedly, there is going to be a special sale in July where they will offer an unlimited supply of pages, protectors and albums, but until it actually happens, I'm not going to count on it. I've tried other albums and none held up as well as CM!

Yes, please if there is someone out there who knows whether CTMH pages fit CM albums, I'd be very interested to know!!

I could be wrong, but I don't think the CTMH albums are built similar to CM- one is post bound compared to strap hinge?

I also didn't realize that the side loaders were gone . I have about 9 coversets to fill from my days as a consultant (and some of them are so PURTY!). I'm OK moving forward with 3 ring, but I will use up what I have, and need many pages. I may end up using Pioneer in some of them, but I do like pages, too!

Well, I 'cutback' a little on my order and after tax and shipping (man that shipping is a killer!), wound up $413.62. Better than over the $500 mark I guess, but still makes me sick. Glad I got all my pages and protectors I needed though! Good luck everyone.

You can buy pages and protectors at HL that fit the strap hinge CM albums. A friend of mine who formerly was a consultant started buying them this year at HL because they are so much lower in price.

This was my experience as well. I converted everything to WRMK years ago. I was so disappointed in the CM binders, particularly because I really had to scrimp and save to buy them, as I was just starting out with with a young and growing family when I first started scrapbooking. But CM was all I knew way back then. Now, the tools, I will certainly miss the tools. They are workhorses. I will be bummed that they can't be replaced when they finally die.

Maybe after you all place your $500 plus orders they won't have to file bankruptcy. lol Just found it funny that so many people are placing large orders.

Sad to see another scrapbook company struggling.

I too started with CM over 10 years ago and I despised those albums. I even tried to get my money back on a few. They are my least favorite and I am happy with my MM and WRMK albums. Wow! This post really surprises me, because none of my scrappy friends use CM albums.

The day the announcement was made I was having panic attacks because I knew it would cost a small fortune. However, I met with my CMC and spent $200+. It's no where near what I wanted to buy but I have a budget and I just blew most of it for the year. I don't know what albums I'll use next. Part of me says use the Fast2Fabulous albums and just wallpaper the pre-printed pages but that set including album is $68 and you can't get refills for it.

I never liked the albums. I knew the they were the best quality but I hated them do much I always did my albums in a regular paper and the semi adhere to the page just in case I changed my mind. I kept them in there for about 7 or 8 years. Last year I bought about 9 WrMK albums on black friday and my transitionwas such a smooth ride because I never committed to those albums...
I have some xtra pages and 2 8 x 11 albums if anyone wants them. You will just have to pay me shipping.

Well you ladies are making me feel really bad. I have 27 of the old style albums that have waiting projects that I had to scramble for pages and protectors last year. To complete my two boys in CM albums through fifth grade (age 11) I need 2400.00+

Yep thats plus. Trying to decide if it worth the investment to keep them in the same albums for a few more years, or if I should cut bait now..

Yikes, I am late to this party, but just realized that I have lots of coversets and probably not enough pages/page protectors. I've pretty much switched to a divided page protector (PL) style, but I did plan to go back and use those coversets. It's a good thing my CM consultant is a hoarder - I'll bet she's got lots of stuff stashed away and I'm guessing she's not the only one!

I am shocked that anyone has had problems with their CM albums. I've been scrapping since 1997 and my albums (35 completed) are all in perfect shape. I have a few from HL and the quality just isn't there. My consultant was looking to quit and was offering us a nice discount this last quarter. But I know I still need a ton of pages, protectors, and side loading pages.

CM said they will make as many as they need to full-fill the orders placed until, I think, July, but I'll have to check on that. I also wanted the wheeled tote, but I may not be able to get it now.

As for not knowing anyone else who use those albums.....I would say more people use them than not. I know about 3 ladies who don't use CM, but I scrap with 25-35 ladies and we all use CM albums. (I belong to a scrapping group)

We use all sorts of other products in our albums, but the albums themselves are CM!!

Last I hear was that they will be taking orders for SOME out of stock items in July, but they don't know which out of stock items. The items available for order will be made to order, in that they will make as many as needed to full fill every order. After that no more.

Then this morning, logging in to my account with zero hope.... IT THERE!! For the full amount, no back orders!! YAY

They have just announced that all items available for order on July 8 have been removed for ordering. These are the pages, protectors, and 11 coversets. Everything else is While Supplies Last. When they are gone, they are gone. Your consultant should be able to get your a list if what can be ordered in July 8.

I placed an order 2 weeks ago simply to use my rewards credit before it's gone. No shipment confirmation as yet. I think it was all stuff they claim will be produced to meet the demand so should be ok.

Close To My Heart has the best, in my opinion. Years ago I sold all my CM ones and transferred all my layouts to CTMH top loading!!
Loved them so much I signed as a consultant to get them at a discount!

CTMH just took over Australia and New Zealand CM consultants that wanted to continue in scrapbook home sales.

Have any questions feel free to contact me.

I feel CTMH makes the nicest quality albums that are very durable. No need to worry about them filing bankruptcy & leaving scrappers in a panic as they are a completely debt free company.

If you would like pictures or more information about them, just let me know!

My box arrived yesterday. That will put off any album decision making for at least another year - maybe two. I certainly hope they bring back the albums, pages, and protectors.

My SIL is a CM consultant. I haven't been able to talk with her about all of these changes.

Several years back, when CM went to the "true" 12 X 12 pages, I went through my inventory to see what I needed of the "old style" page protectors to go with the pages I already had, how many of the "new style" pages and page protectors I needed and I ordered those.

I haven't ordered any more albums/pages from them since. I was gifted with a HUGE Rubbermaid tub of albums/page protectors/small totes (old original CM stuff) and tons of stickers/die cuts, from a lady who was "de-scrapbooking." LOL I didn't need to purchase any albums, just go to that tub!

I did just recently order 4 of the clear/frosted tape runner refills and a few of the containers that hold your pens. I'm spending my 4th of July in my scrap room re-organizing and getting ready for Shih Tzu Mommy's crop on the 20th!!

ETA - and fortunately, I have a CTMH consultant who works in my building! I joke with her that she's my "supplier"!

Another option is that you can get the top & side loading pages that fit the CM albums at HL. I know people that use those in their CM albums because they didn't want to pay for the CM ones. This is an alternative if you find yourself needing refills after CM has sold out.
