Do you find that it's worth the cost of refills? I think it will be so awesome to have for project life. But then I see that the refill only print 100 prints, and it seems like I would have to refill it pretty often. Just looking for opinions.
Thank so much in advance,

I think it is so worth it to print quick 4x6 photos - especially from my phone. I have the Selphy. It prints exactly 100 prints because of the film the printer uses. You can't squeak out an extra print or two. It is not the cheapest print ever but the quality is good and the convenience makes up for the extra cost.

If you're just using it for PL, the cost would be for 100 prints x 4 basically to get you through the year? Doesn't seem awful. You can still send your everyday pics away for regular (cheaper) processing.
I only print with my Epson Picturemate and Artisan now. I know it costs more but the quality (amazing!) and convenience of printing what I want/when I want is totally worth it to me.

I have a selphy, but I don't use it for my regular, 4x6 printing. I use it mainly for smaller picture sizes, and if I find I'm missing a picture for some reason. Love it for that! For big orders, though, I still send them to Walgreens. I'm so glad I have it, but don't use it for everything.

Here's the thing. I'm the most frugal person around. But I can be frugal to the point that it is a negativity in my life. This is a great example. When I was waiting to print the most economical way or when I was waiting to have enough prints to catch a great sale that is all I was doing....waiting. I either didn't have prints to use or I had a huge pile I didn't have enough time to get through.
Now, with a small printer sitting there, I can print as I work. So, in the end it is much more economical because I only print what I use and it is more economical with time and I get pages done!
Let's say you do a picture a day, it isn't just $30 for 100 pics - it is $30 for three months of pics. It is $30 for no hassle. It is $30 for time management. Most importantly, it is $30 for completed pages.
...that's why they make blue cars and red cars.

I have the charm and I think it is totally worth it from a time saving perspective. I print right as I scrapbook so to send them off could be frustrating. Plus I like to be able to change the sizing of my pictures. I buy the glossy paper and I get 150 prints per pack so I feel like it is a really good deal for me. Plus you can't beat the convenience!

|Posted: 6/27/2013 9:34:37 AM|I got the selphy a few months ago and I love it. I hesitated to purchase one because I thought I t would be more expensive than printing elsewhere. It is...but not after I figured up how much money I spent leaving the house! I am not patient enough to upload all my pictures and then wait for them to be shipped. I figure that I may spend a few cents more per print but I get them right away and I don't spend the extra $100 at target to make the trip out worth blowing the gas to get there. The selphy cartridges print pictures just shy of 4x6 but you can put 4,8, or 12 photos on a single print and the quality is excellent. Love my Selphy!

I get way more than 100 prints from my PictureMate (which I've had for years and years). I also love the convenience of printing whenever I want.

My dh got me a Selphy for Christmas. I use it for PL. I got behind in March due to work being extremely hectic. Last week I sat down and edited my pictures and did a big order with CVS. Otherwise, my Selphy has been great for doing a few pictures at a time. I use Photosheet to make collages which helps me get more out of the machine.
I have also enjoyed using it when make a regular scrapbook page and realizing that I need a photo in a smaller size.

i have a selphy cp 900 and love it for small prints. usually i put 2 on 1 4x6, and i think it's completely worth it. just the ease and convenience of it, and having it right there where i want it. i don't print a lot of 4x6's, so it works for me. and it is perfect for PL.

I LOVE my selphy, predominantly print from phone. Great for PL but lso for keeping track of little moments

I use my Best Buy Reward Zone $$ to buy the paper/ink combos and get the 10% discount on top of that so it really isn't badly priced. The ease of printing from the app from home is PRICELESS to me!

I have had my slept for over a year now and I love it. I enjoy project life way more with being able to print at home. Worth every penny.
Btw, I get exactly the number of photos it says on the package. I buy from amazon and the price is not to bad.

I love my charm and pretty much use it exclusively anymore. So handy for project life especially! I usually buy my ink/paper refills on sale so I think they are around $30 for 150 prints (photo paper and ink pack)

I just bought a Selphy last week, at Best Buy (they price matched Amazon for me). I think long before I purchase *anything* over $25. It is totally worth it to me for the convenience and quality. As someone else said, they are not true 4x6 but I don't care, I can use my Cameo to cut out a 4x6 background and use that.

I love my selphy. I'm too impatient to wait for pics. Plus most of my pics are from my phone and I love being able to just print them wirelessly as I go. I do use mpix for pics too, and those are 29 cents a print so I feel like my selphy isn't too bad cost wise.

I have a selphy and I love it. I still send large orders (like vacations) to a processor but for smaller sizes and those moments where you really just want to scrap that picture, the selphy is great.
I have an HP inkjet printer that I was using to print smaller sizes. The ink dries up so fast and then costs just as much as the selphy refills which give me 100 prints. I didn't use the HP printer often enough and sometimes I swear I'd only print 5-7 pictures before one of the inks was "low" or dried up. I haven't had any ink problems with the selphy.
