This kit is fabulous for my very male household. Has just enough feminine elements to work nicely. Love the colors!

However, there is a bit of 'super love' and 'I super love this' sentiments on the cards. It 'super' grates on my nerves.

I can get behind the 'love' and 'I love this' sentiments. But, the addition of super? Over the top!

Fortunately, the cards are double sided and I have ideas to alter the cards.

But, I did want to give the heads up to anyone considering this kit. It's 3 or 4 cards. So not excessive.

Otherwise, I do like the kit.

LOL. There are so many over the top sentiments like that on products currently. "Best day ever" and so on.

You could always cover over the words with an embellishment or picture. I have Jade and Blush and that's what I do. Some of the sayings are just stupid or I really don't need to repeat it 10x in my album.

I agree. And instead of super this and best that, I wish someone would come out with a set of cards for bad days. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Just a random thought...by filling our albums with such 'super' sentiments and days of rainbows, doesn't it take away from the reality we are supposed to be recording? I mean, if you or someone were to look at the album in 20-30 years, you would think life had been just peachy? Not that I love to record lots of bad stuff, but bad stuff does happen and it does make an appearance in my album.

You could totally put a red circle with a line around Best Day Ever or Super Love sentiments.

Then you can use it for crummy days too. PL makes it easy to show good and bad stuff. Just because the printed cards are positive doesn't mean you have to only show the positive.

M's had some. It's been a while since I was there, but they were in pads of 2 X 3 cards, it was an off-name brand (maybe their own), and in the store where they had a bunch of "smash"/PL type stuff that were not made by Smash or PL.

ETA: I mean 3 X 4, not 2 X 3.

The kraft kit has some sayings that show not everything is perfect. The only one I can think of is "bummer", but there were more.

I am hopeful that there will be a more graphic kit in the future, one without any real text on it besides basic things like 'Noted' or 'Here' or 'Remember' or 'Hello.' I don't always like to add other people's words and phrases to my books, although the occasional one does match up... I also get tired of the over-the-top, unrealistic sort of phrases, so you're not alone there.

Or maybe I should say, you're super not alone there, best post ever!!!!!

I do like the idea of putting a big X over the sentiment on bad days! I've altered some die cuts with phrases on them before, you could do it for PL cards too.

If you do digital or print out digital cards for use in PL items, Peppermint Creative has a template set called Life in Pictures: Bad Day that sounds like what some of you are looking for.

That's a bit cheesy, I would probably look for ways to cover up that word.

I don't like scrapbook products that are fully of hyperboles "Best Day Ever" "This is perfect" "Perfect Day" ... I feel like I should have to save them and even if I do that won't be the "Best Day Ever", how about "Today rocked!" still grand but not something I feel like needs to live up to the Best Day EVER.

I don't look at photo albums or scrapbooks and assume life was just peachy all the time.

I have a hard enough time trying to keep some things out of my head. I don't feel it's necessary to memorialize them just because they happened.

Just because I don't scrapbook my kids' potty training or first period or whatever doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Since PL first came out, my family has been through an enormous amount of turmoil and tragedy. Our extended family even more.

We're not going to forget. Ever. Many times, it's all we can do to get through the day.

It's pretty great to be able to record some happy moments.

I actually would love to buy a few "Best day ever" embellies, because my 10 year old says that all of the time.

And it doesn't matter how small the fun stuff was on any given day. If he had a great day, he'll announce that it was "The best day ever!".

And the very next day could be "The best day ever!", too. And the best part about it is that it's so innocent. No snark, no irony. He really means that any given day was just that awesome to him.

Of course, his dramatic ways go in both directions.

Something goes wrong and he's all "This is the worst day ever!", LOL!

So I'll need to find a few of those, too!

Oh, how about best period ever for a journaling card!!

This is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time!
I can think of a lot of "best ... ever" sayings for an off-beat line, but I didn't think of this one! Thanks for making me laugh tonight.

It beats 'Hello' on everything. Somebody above posted they liked the Hello cards so I am probably in the minority, but it seems like everything lately has Hello on it and it is overkill. For me I just don't think I need to say Hello every other layout.

I, too, am tired of Hello on everything. I also would like some PL products that acknowledge that not all of us are in loving relationships or incredibly super happy and so forth every day of our lives.

Might be time to make my own PL cards. I am older, single and do not have young children. I vote for someone coming out with real life PL products.

I just bought Rain to use for an upcoming overseas trip. My plan is to use the cards as a travel journal, and put it all together when I get back. Even with a trip of a lifetime, some of those cards are over the top! They're the ones that will get left behind, and altered or the other side used later.

BaylorGrad, those Peppermint Creative cards are fantastic! You wouldn't want to do a whole PL album with them, but some of those cards are spot on. I picked up both bad day sets...

Thanks for the suggestion!

Love this idea. Or, you can put an arrow pointing to the "Super" word and write on the arrow "not so", as in "not so super"

Well that super sucks. I'd love reality journaling cards: this day was so-so, this outfit made me look fat, bad hair day, train wreck, or I'd rather be (fill in the blank). That would be the best.set.ever. Totally.

I, too, have a hard time with all the "perfect" and "best ever" sentiments. I have been creating my own cards with stamps from One Little Dreamer. Lots of phrases like "#recipe for disaster", "#meltdown", "#thissucks", "bad day in progress", "overworked/underpaid", "vacation needed", etc. PL reflects my real life - the good, bad and ugly.

This thread cracks me up!! I am a bit tired of the overly wonderful- life is perfect sentiments...but I am not ready for the all is crummy sentiments, either. I am just glad that the PL sentiment cards are double sided.

My personal pet peeve is "Hello" to everything!!

I don't mind the hyperboles since my husband and I say sarcastically.

And I used to say hello all the time, especially "hello, friend." But with all the hello stuff out there, I'm finding I say it less and less. I still don't mind all the hello stuff out there.

The best and super doesn't bother me. I'm a positive person. I want to capture the happy times in life. I do scrapbooking because for me its fun and creative. If I was doing it for grieving then maybe I'd have a different response. I also like to share my work with family and friends. I have a hard enough time getting out of my head some days. I have a journal if I want to write about other things or I talk to someone about my bad day. I would never think someone's life is all peachy I'd just think those details are kept private. When we look at regular photo albums there's usually mostly all happy moments as well.
