Hubby got it for me a couple of weeks ago. I am in love with it! Perfect for a stand-up scrapper.

I have a video of it still in the box on my YT channel if you want to see. Will have to make a video of it set up.

It is counter height. I think painting it would be tricky. It's that slick particle board surface. You'd have to very carefully sand it to get the slick off without getting down to the particle board. And then painting all those shelves and cubbies would be a nightmare.

My room is all white cubes and counter tops with white oak flooring and it looks great as is in there.

Scrapbookbabe,

It is assembled and I've been working on it for the last 2 weeks
I have things on one edge & still have plenty of work surface. I'll try to make a video of it & a little bit of my space later today. I can't say enough about it. It's so sturdy. It is so much bigger than I expected, but that's a plus for me. Look for a video on my channel later Friday night, hopefully

Thanks!

I'll get you measurements tonight when I get home. If I had to guess, I'd say it's about 5 feet by 3.5 or 4 feet. And it was HEAVY!!!

I was iffy on the black, but it does fit in nicely with my room, so I abandoned thoughts of painting it. It I had painted it, I would've gone with something like an Annie Sloan chalk paint, so I could skip the sanding.

I just saw that table last week. Drool. I love the way it looks in the craft room with the white cabinets. It's perfect. I would love to have a space like that but I don't want to hurry my last chick out of the nest just to get his bedroom

Ditto that!! ^^^^

Your room looks phenomenal, and now that I see the desk with white cabinets (I have the same ones), I love the look! If you could post dimensions (I'm especially interested in the dimensions of the large opening under the desk where the chair goes), I would really, really appreciate it!

It's a REEEEEALY dark brown. So dark that it looks black unless you see it in a strong light. I'll try to take a pic that shows it when I do the measurements.

The desk is 3 feet by 5 feet.

The chair opening is 26.5 inches.

The cubbies on either side if the chair at 13" and the shelf height is adjustable.

The shelves on the sides are 17" wide and the shelves are adjustable.

If I remember correctly, the box is just slightly bigger than the table top so a limitless more than 3'x5'

HTH!

I went to edit my post and it disappeared...

I am wondering how hard it would be to paint white. I think the brown is a deal breaker for my room.

Annie Sloan paint would be too expensive. COuld a good quality primer or even a spray primer work and then roll the paint in a white color??

Is it the same material as the expedit??

wow that is gorgeous! Don't have room for it, sadly, but it looks so much like a Pottery Barn design. Love that it's standing height.Love that it has those little cubbies.

Awesome room, Creativeengineer! I have the white cubes, too, and I like the way they look together.

The official name of the color is espresso, but it is a really dark espresso.

If you could post dimensions (I'm especially interested in the dimensions of the large opening under the desk where the chair goes), I would really, really appreciate it!

I just posted a video with all the dimensions of the openings, including the 'under the desk' opening for a chair/stool. I also have the dimensions of the shelves/cubbies the way I have it set up. They are adjustable, so it could vary, of course.

(Disclaimer: totally NOT pimping my videos/channel, but I thought it might help you guys out )

I would love to have 2 of those to put together. Great for scrapping with a friend. But, also to have a nice expanse for sewing projects. Just don't have the room.

Hmmmm. Oh my goodness. I am moving to a craftsman bungalow type home built in 1940 and I am going to have to put my office/studio in one of the front rooms for at least a few years. I currently use a door on top of two white ikea sawhorses, but my daughter actually wants to use that up in her bedroom, which has white trim. The part of the house I am using is all gorgeous dark wood trim.

And we have a Costco in the town we are moving to. And a Costco membership. I think this might be just perfect. Thanks for posting the photos of your space, CE. I also have a white expedit that I will need to incorporate into the room so it's good to know that is possible.

When I went to edit my signature, the "Edit Signature" title was spelled wrong. So that was distracting and I forgot what I wanted my new signature to be.

When I called Oxnard they had 12 but they were still in the "steel"... they couldn't find it when I got there. Had to get the manager. Make sure you ask them to physically look for it before you make the drive. Hubby set mine up last night. Took about 2 hours but he said it was easier than IKEA stuff

How I think I need barstools... it's always something! Barstools are expensive! I think I want to have a little padding and a back? what are you guys using? the IKEA Henriksdal has a back, brown/black legs and a choice of stip cover. (I would get white). Ikea also has a folding barstool that looks nice... is that the same one in the craft room above?

Yes, that's a folding barstool from Ikea. It's fine for the short term, but it's not comfortable (at least for me) to sit in for long periods of scrappy time. I'm still looking for a replacement but will likely end up with a drafting chair as they are the right height, and ergonomically designed. At my age, I value comfort over pretty, lol.

How sturdy is it? I am thinking of picking one up, but I want to make sure that it is a quality product. How does it compare to Ikea furniture, which is what I have now?
