There's been a lot of talk on the boards about how the amount of product in a core kit is just too much to realistically use.

Personally, I have the Jade core kit from HSN and have barely made a dent in it... Do you Peas have any ideas on how to use it all?

I'm really interested in the new Sunshine core kit and the Cut & Paste mini but can't justify purchasing if I haven't even used my Jade kit up yet.

PL cards work well as embellishments, on cards and in mini albums. If you have kids, you could use the cards to put little fun notes in their school back pack or lunch. Just a few thoughts.

I know a lot of people trade cards with others so that they have fewer multiples, and more of a versatile selection. If you check the
buy/sell/trade area there is probably a thread or two there about swaps.

I've used some for little notes in my daighter's lunch box, she also used some of the blush cards for Valentine's Day cards. I use them on traditional pages too for journaling, but it's best to split a kit with someone.

Great tips so far! I have a follow-up question. What is the proper etiquette for splitting up a core kit? I've already used some of the cards so there isn't 5 of each pattern... How many do I need to give of each pattern for it to be a fair swap?

I make grocery lists, to do lists, love notes to stick in my husbands briefcase. I punch holes and use for gift bag tags. I cut off decorative elements and use for layering. I use as central elements to make cards.

And on and on.

And i still have 500+ left.

I purchased a kit with my 50% off coupon. What I did is take 2 of each cards, so I had front/back able to use, which left a little more then half for someone. I believe I charged $9-10 shipped.

It is a very good way to get a mixture of cards. I'm sure I still have more then I will ever use

Use your punch on them to make coordinating embellishments and use them on traditional scrapbook pages.

I don't even do PL...I hate the pocket pages...but I use PL and similar supplies (smash, snap, etc) on my traditional pages and cards and minis. They are perfectly scaled for use as quick and easy embellishments.
