Evening Peas! I see we are off to a great start with day one YAY!

For day two I need you to inventory the last few projects you have made. Look at the BASE of your project are the majority cardstock or patterned paper?

Today I want you to switch your "normal" base up, if you are usually cardstock (like me!) then your base should be patterned paper, and if it is usually patterned paper I want you to use cardstock instead. Make sense?

Chatter: What is something you have trouble using but love the look of in your creations?

Don't forget to upload, link and praise.

Chatter: I love the look of ribbon, but never know how to incorporate into my style or layouts. I just gave ribbon away because I knew I wouldn't use it.

I hope to get Day 2 complete tomorrow. I use both cardstock (kraft or white) and PP as my base but very seldom do I use color cardstock so maybe I will try to do that.

Still finding my way around but happy to report I've figured out how to post pics and get them to go into the challenge gallery (feelin' kinda smart now )I agree with treyaut on ribbon being my "I wish I could do that" item. I love LOs that use ribbon in fancy ways but when I try it's just comical.

I guess tomorrow's project starts with pp 'cuz I ALWAYS use a cardstock base.Hmmm...

Well, this one will kind of be tough for me because I have been using both quite frequently, especially recently, I use to use cardstock almost exclusively but have branched out with my new projects to using quite a bit of patterned paper.

So I think I will have to flip a coin heads will be patterned paper and tails will be cardstock.

See you tomorrow.

Well it looks like I will have to do both challenges tomorrow as I ran out of time tonight! I got home late and then just couldn't seem to decide what pictures to scrap! Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive!
Chatter: I love look of all the little "extras" on a page (such as the tags, word strips, ribbon etc)but can never seem to incorporate that on my pages. I never seem to have exactly what I need!

Here is my day two. Well I kinda compromised, wouldn't you say? I use both cardstock and patterned paper quite frequently these days, although I use to be pretty much a cardstock girl. So I think I pretty much made a base of both here.

Bethie: anyone can jump in, anytime!

I won't get anything done today; heading three hours north to albuquerque to visit the aquarium with DD and her boyfriend's family. I will try to get today's challenge done over the weekend. I finished yesterday's challenge (used the circles for clocks on a LO titled "time flies" but am slow to upload.

Chatter: I am mist challenged. I don't like the "blood splatter" technique but sometimes want a little shimmer from a light spray over a die cut...but it just looks gloppy. All the mists will probably go in my next purge; thankfully, I only have a handful.

Well I started my day one layout but ran out of steam. I'm not to worried though since today is my last day of work and then I'm on holidays for three weeks.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with today's challenge. I always used cardstock for my background for years and then I discovered GG videos and have bee using patterned paper for the last few months. I guess I will go back to cardstock for this one.

I also love the look of ribbon but I hate working with it so it rarely makes it onto my layouts and cards.

Oh dear, I have so many challenges LOL! If I had to pick just one I would say "embellishments". I scrap 8.5x11 and if I put 2 photos on a page I struggle to get anything else on there other than my title and journaling.

I mostly work with patterned paper backgrounds. So for today's challenge I think I will follow Maribeth's lead and use cardstock to mat my layout. That'll work, right?

Great challenge! I didn't get to scrapbook last night, but I hope to spend a good chunk of the weekend in my scrap room.

treyaut, thanks for the idea to use color cardstock as a base. I'd say I am pretty even for using neutral cs or pp as a base and didn't know which way to go.

Chatter: washi tape. I try it out on so many layouts but I pull it up 90% of the time.

Ladies there is no late or wrong way to do this! I promise! I just want you to have fun and create! You can join in ANYTIME!!! We love having everyone!

Treyaut- I agree I am not and have never really been a ribbon girl but give me some washi and I am using it like a madwoman, not sure what that is all about.

Sharon good job! I am proud of you smart lady! LOL!

Marybeth good job on the layout two. I have not started today!

Bethie WELCOME! Can't wait to see what you create! YAY!

Kittens, if you have trouble picking photos could you do a "ghost" page, where you make the page and add photos later? I can't do that but some rock at it!

Marilyn-The aquarium sounds fun! I love misting now and I even like the "blood spatter" that you do, so if you need to find the mists a good home I am happy to love them LOL!

Jocelyn, I can't wait to see your creations as I notorious for starting with neutral cardstock ONLY!

Njbrown- So glad to see you chatting this time! I didn't know you did 8.5X11, I can't wait to see some of your work as I am always trying to do different sizes for PL!

Seasonscraps-oh a whole weekend in your scraproom I am envious! Scrap some for me!

Iheart-YES! Link anytime any challenge or anything you create, a lot of Peas don't even read the challenges but like the camaraderie that this sort of thing gives!

As for me, I have yet to scrap today as we are finally feeling like people and not colds today! I did venture out to Target and got all the kids Christmas gifts bought as they had toys for 70% off! (Don't hate me I still have the adults BOO!) I am pretty happy though I got lego sets normally 20 plus for 6 bucks! YAY! Legos are one of those toys that never goes out of style so when I can pick them up for DD and eventually DS I sure do! LOL! I hope to get some scrapping done this weekend but also need to pack us all up for our version of camping so we will see. Tomorrow I will have a thread (or maybe tonight) that will take us through the weekend. Remember Sundays are catch up days.

Oh if you have any chatter ideas please PM them to me!

Another great challenge! I think it's time for me to get off the computer and get some work done! I went to bed after 11:30 last night when I finished icing all those cupcakes, had to be up early to go teach a class of 22 middle schoolers at our local university this morning and now I'm wiped! I'm not cut out to be a working mom. It's exhausting!! (Even if it was for just a few days! lol)

I love the look of sewing on LOs but I've always been terrified to try it! I'm not a strong sewer so I'm convinced I'd screw up and then my pictures would be ruined. Maybe it's time to get over it and just try it!

Haven't started today's project yet but might still get there. As far as LEGOS go Crystal, get em while you can as cheap as you can because he'll NEVER grow out of them. My son is 28 next month and he's still playing with them. Whenever his wife hasn't seen him for awhile he's on the floor in the study surrounded by them and they have no kids yet!

You Chatter question-I find I have a hard time using pattern paper and putting 1 photo on a layout. For some reason I always feel I have all this wasted space BUT I have challenged myself lately and have tried to do better at this.
So here is my entry for Day 2 of CADA. Maybe I'll back track and try to do day one tonight. Kids 1st cruise

I've been using either white cardstock or pattern paper backgrounds for a while now, so using a colored cardstock would be a good challenge.

Chatter: I have a hard time using overly romantic or vintage pieces. It just doesn't mesh well with my style I guess. (but I do sneak in some from time to time, just a little)

I use both pattern paper and card stock as Backgrounds pretty regularly so I decided to look at my Disney album layouts for a clue which I should use as I was doing a layout for that album today. I used more Card stock backgrounds than Pattern paper so far so I decided to use pattern paper for today's layout.

Chatter , I think that sewing on my layouts is something I love the look of but I rarely do. I did pull out some stitching rubons for yesterdays layout. They are old doodlebug ones - wonder if they are still available?

Chatter: I have the most trouble with the embellishments. It's getting better, though. since I bought more. I kinda question what I'm doing when I'm sitting there with the tweezers trying to fit some microscopic piece into a similarly small spot!

Day 2 I usually start with a solid color so I changed it up with pattern. I just ran across a good deal in a chevron so I used it. Of course I noticed in the Forum the Pea that said she was so sick of chevrons. I didn't read further. It's new to me and I like the result.

I did get Day 1 & 2 complete yesterday .I just have to charge the camera batteries.I use a lot of cardstock for my base but very seldom do I use pattern paper.

I got my first LO done in the new house! Supplies limited to my Iris box packed with page kits prior to the move, and a tool kit. Kind of like my own little crop! lol

It's the only one I've done so far - the summer cold has struck me down too, and it's a doozy! Hoping I can catch up this week, but if nothing else, preschool starts back in a week and a half.

day 2 LO

Thanks for doing this Crystal! It was the kick in the pants I needed to get back into crafting, despite the ongoing craziness of house projects. (We're also in the middle of bathroom remodels, so currently down to 1 usable one.)

I had company for the weekend so I didn't get to respond much on this or the next thread before now. I love this challenge. I usually use card stock as my background, although I have used it just as a border around a patterned paper a few times lately. I will use a patterned paper for this.

As for the chatter, I agree with several others that sewing on pages always looks really cool but I don't really ever try it. I will have to do that sometime...even if it just the easier way of poking holes and doing it by hand.

I'll be sure and check out everyone's pages to leave some love and praise soon!

Still not sure how to link from the thread to the gallery (or if I even can) but Day 2 project is up in the CADA Gallery. I always use solid cardstock bases for everything because prints can be very intimidating so I was brave and used pp bases... Still not sure I like it but hopefully DD will Creation a day August Challenge Gallery
