I am considering buying the Cameo Silhouette. I already have the cricut expressions and HEAPS of cartridges. I also have a gypsy.
This might be a silly question but I'll ask it anyway.
Are we able to connect the gypsy to the Silhouette to make use of the cartridges I already own ?

No you can't connect the two machines. They are not compatible. Are you going to sell your Cricut machines? if you are sell the cartridges along with them.
Cameo uses Studio software that allows you to trace images and create your own cutting designs. As well as that there are lots of sites that offer free cutting files so you will be spending less on designs with the Cameo. The cutting files you can buy are pretty cheap and you can just buy the design you want rather than have to buy a whole cartridge.

Before you consider selling your Cricut, Gypsy, and carts, check out the Silhouette store to make sure you like their designs.
I have three electronic cutters. I first bought the blue Wishblade, and it can work with Silhouette files, but honestly, there just aren't enough designs that I like in their store to bother dusting off and connecting my Wishblade. I am adept at design work and can create anything I want with my Gazelle (similar to the Cameo). I also have a Cricut, Gypsy, and a bunch of cartridges. I use the Cricut for convenience, and I use the Gazelle for creating my own designs. I just like the Cricut designs that I already have better than what I see at the Silhouette store.
Everyone has different taste, though, so just make sure you are going to be happy being limited to Silhouette designs if you do decide to get rid of all your Cricut stuff.

No you can not connect to any of the Cricut products. I have kept all my Cricut machines just in case I want to make something I can't find on Silhouette's online site which I'm finding is rare. I've invested so much money into Provocraft I'm not selling quite yet.

I have a new Cameo and I love it! It cuts better, finer and bigger than my Cricut Create, but I love my Gypsy and Cricut for quick images.
I know just what it will do and with what card. My Cameo cuts realy well and I am building up my library via a subscription.
