I took on a personal challenge to scrapbook about something that scares me - birds! After all, my scrapbooks are my story. Good, bad, and scary! As I was creating the page I wondered if anyone else does this - scrapbook about things that are frightening to them. I want to see I you have! Mine is the most recent in my gallery: The Birds

Not yet. BTW, I love your layout! I saw that Alfred Hitchcock movie, "The Birds" when I was a little girl in the 1960's but it didn't make me afraid of birds, although I understand your fear. It's the eyes, those beady little eyes.

What did it for me was snakes. A church youth group camping trip up in the mountains of Virginia, a resting spot on a rocky outcrop and a rattlesnake shaking it rattle inches behind where a group of us girls were sitting did it for me-snake phobia for the rest of my life. My sister has it too-she was sitting next to me.

So, I haven't scrapped that yet. Even photos of the wicked things scare the bejeezus out of me. Although I did use one sticker of a snake with a circle and a diagonal line through it in my scrapbook about St. John USVI. St. John is an island without any snakes at all, because they have mongooses. My kind of heaven I think that'll do it for me as far as scrapping my fear of snakes goes.

Awesome layout, it is so funny! I love the "so creepy" and your use of bird patterned paper. It really made me laugh. Good job.

I have not, but I think it's a great idea! I know I should scrapbook the bad things, and sometimes I do, but it can be a struggle to do it.

A few years ago I did a page about my fears. It may be in my gallery here. I haven't added anything in years so I am not sure. Off to check.

Love the layout. I hope by facing the fear it will start to be less scary.

I've never thought about it either!

I really like your LO; how did you make those big ink droplets?

@texasjen I used a dauber to make the ink splatters. You can see Jen Kinkade's technique in her recent scrap your stash video. I actually didn't have the ink daubers, but you can buy plain daubers, which is what I did. I simply dipped the dauber in my bottle if mist instead! Hope that makes sense...

First, love your LO, great job!

Second, I agree scrapbooking doesn't have to be all sunshine and lollipops. It should be an expression of whatever you want it to be: good and bad.

And lastly, to answer your question, not exactly something that scares me, but I have scrapbooked about depression/mental illness as well as difficult times and decisions in my life. I found it quite therapeutic actually.

I've written in my journal about stuff but never made a layout about it. For me I like the pictures, happy memories, and art of scrapbooking. I like to keep my struggles in a different spot.

I have a phobia about praying mantis's - hate them

I have 3 boys and a hubby who love them

One day, my youngest son (about 6-7yrs old) came inside with one on his hand - look mummy.
I was standing in the kitchen, with no way out and I could not scream/cry/move/anything - but he wanted me to take a photo of him with "it" on his hand.
I had to - but I scrapped it, it is in my album....not a page to linger on...but I scrapped it...on a page about bugs and boys....

I do have photos of my son's car that he crashed - he had to climb out of the front windscreen, and an ambulance was called (scary moment, making dinner and hearing the siren go up the hill, and 5mins later getting a phone call.....)
That happened about 4-5 years ago...every time I look at the photos, I cry and think what may have happened...so no, I haven't scrapped them yet

I have. Believe it or not it was about a bird. My MIL had a bird "CoCo" and it always wanted to come and climb on me so I would get DH to shew it away. After 10 years of me not letting this bird anywhere near me, I finally let it near me and I fell in love with CoCo.

Mine would definitely be mice, rats, bats, groundhogs, ferrets, squirrels, gophers, moles, ALL RODENTS, even birds (to me that's just a rodent with wings). I can't for the life of me get past the angst and fear that rodents bring. It takes over my mindset, my breathing, my rational thinking and consumes me completely. I've even gone to a pet store in the hopes of conquering my fear, by holding a mouse. OH My!!! you would've thought I was being brutally attacked. Needless to say, I got put out the pet store, the owner claimed "your scaring the other patrons". I've have yet to conquer this TRI-GANTIC (thats 3 times as big as gigantic) fear. I have scrapbooked about this fear of mine in a LO titled - Things you should know about me. I couldn't bear the thought or sight of including a picture of ANY rodent on that LO.

I did a layout with a picture of a giant spider. Spiders scare me witless, so I'm proud I actually was able to tke the picture myself (ok, it was in a glass cage, but still scaaaary).

^^ This.

It's a great idea, though. I'm one of those (possibly few?) scrappers who believes in scrapping both the good and the bad; or at least I'm not afraid to include the bad in my journaling.
