Happy September!!! We want to welcome you to the Chatty Scrappers Thread...we are so glad you're here! We are a chatty group of ladies who enjoy sharing our projects with the group and encouraging each other by praising each other's projects. We will post a few challenges each month and we would love for you to join in and participate on those challenges or to post any of your projects to the thread to share them with the group. Please feel free to introduce yourself and join our wonderful group of ladies!

Bookmarks Challenge by Theresa

The object of this challenge is to use the layouts that you've been adding to your Bookmarks. You know that you liked them, but how often do you remember to use them as inspiration to make your own?

September, whew, let that sink in for a minute. Christmas will be here before you know it. For this month's challenge I want you to use one of the last layouts you've bookmarked as your inspiration. For an extra challenge, do a Christmas layout using pictures from the past.

A very important part of this challenge is that you should send a message to the Pea that inspired you. It will brighten their day! Also, add a link to their LO in the information section or the comment section. Please be very specific about identifying that you lifted that Pea, we don't want to have any hurt feelings by not giving credit where credit is due.

Sketch Challenge by Toni

Technique Challenge by Tina
Let's get messy this month!!! Break out your paints and use some on a project. You can stamp with paint, splatter it, hand paint a title, etc. Just do something creative and fun!

Digi Challenge by Debi

I can feel the summer turning to fall as mornings are cooler and school has started for some or just around the corner for others. So let's get ready for fall...add some leaves, apples or other traditional fall items to your page; even school ebellishments work. For digi scrappers you might try some brushes; paper scrappers perhaps stickers.... This challenge is open to all, whether you do digi, tradition or hybrid, just have fun with it!

Tool Challenge by Michelle

In honour of the beginning of Spring here in the southern hemisphere, I'd like to challenge you to do a little spring-(or fall)cleaning. Dig out that old, unused tool and use it on a layout. Yes, we all have one we just 'had to have' that is now lying in a drawer or cupboard. That Dymo Labeller, the MM tag maker, even your heat tool if you haven't embossed in a while. Have fun with those tools!!!

***********************************************************************

Everyone is welcome to participate...link all your projects (whether they fit a challenge or not) to the Chatty Scrappers link when uploading. Have a great August.

If you'd like to submit a challenge please send me a peamail outlining it and I'll add it to our list. Thanks.

Here is the link to the August thread.

Hurray for a new thread. Happy September All! Stormed like crazy here all night so not a lot of sleep was had by me and since Randy didn't get off work til 3 a.m. he didn't get much either. Planned on going to church but it looks like we'll make Sunday School instead of early worship. Going to Joyce's for lunch then I'm sure we'll both need a nap.

I did some scrapping last night, after I found my desk under all the mess. I was able to put together a scrapbook layout about my Dad's accident.

Remember

This card is for my friend Benny who is in isolation in Nashville fighting a horrible disease.

Peek a boo Card

and lastly a card for the 19 year old young man that has cancer, I'm taking up money today from my Sunday School class to give to him (he has no insurance)

Need a little help

Sorry to add them all at the same time but who knows when I'll scrap again, LOL! I am happy to report that even after scrapping, my desk is still clean. Randy asked who I was this morning and what I had done with his real wife!!!

Morning girls -

Tina - Fab job on the new thread! I sure hope I can get some of these great challenges done Not scrapping is starting to catch up to me, LOL.

Theresa - Your pages are wonderful, and the cards are really cute. That's a lot to get done in one day, too. Glad your desk is clean again; mine could use a little help.

I'm off today so I hope to get something done, although there is a lot of laundry and cleaning that needs to get done, too.

So with that...
Have a super fun and safe Labor Day (for those in the US).

Thanks TINA for doing the thread. I did manage to do a little school shopping (ALONE as I couldn't convince the boys to go along) so we'll see if they like the pants (if they fit or not) and the school supplies I purchased. Hoping NOT to have to go back to the store to return stuff.

Another beautiful day here. Hey if our summers would always look like this, everyone would move here.

Have a great day...need to run to the ATM and deposit some money. The bank account is empty...eeks.

Nylene, (who is out of town right now) I know you're going to want the link to the Puppy Card directions so Here it is!

Debi, send me your regular email address and I'll send you the PSE file on the newspaper article. You can read it there. Can't figure a way to send it via peamail.

Toni, how on earth did you manage to get off on a holiday weekend? Enjoy! Even if it does mean doing laundry. Bet that store will be a madhouse today.

Tina - thanks for the new thread.

We went to my Dad's last night and DH and I went for cocktails and then prawns while he babysat. it was fun and great knowing we didn't have to rush back.

Had a lazy afternoon but it's back to the chaos tomorrow. Realised today we only have 19 more school days of this term before spring break of 10 days at the end of the month. Where is this year going?

It's still very cold here and really wet. The ground is sodden and nothing wants to dry. I'm scared to even attempt washing as I'll never get it dry again... I do have a tumble drier, but it just chews electricity. I hate seeing the meter flashing when it is on.

Off to get the boys to bed then I'm getting into bed. Too cold to sit here at my desk for very long.

Hello and Happy September. Been laboring all this Labor Day weekend. Found a bunch of sand burrs in the yard. Been pulling them out. Like I needed that kind of stuff to do. We are so not good about keeping up with yard stuff. We don't do our own mowing so I didn't see the weeds until now. There are others too. Will need to spray.
Good night all!

Hi Mandy and Melanie, good to see you both!

Melanie, add 1/4 cup table salt to a spray bottle, fill it with plain vinegar and a squirt of dish soap and use it to spray your weeds. Cheap and effective!

Went to Joyce's for lunch and came back and took a long nap. Have the laundry going (didn't touch it yesterday) and have been reading my Duck Dynasty book and playing around on the internet most of the evening.

No plans for Labor Day here. Randy is working of course. I thought about going to the flea market but don't think I will. I am going to get up in the morning and walk the route of the 5K run/walk I'm doing Saturday. I've been trying to get Randy to walk it with me all week and was waiting on a friend that is also doing it to call so I wouldn't be by myself but doesn't look like either one of those are going to happen. Who knows though by morning what I'll feel like doing.

Headed to bed as soon as I get that load of clothes out of the dryer.

Theresa, tried the vinegar solution and it killed grass too. According to what I've read about getting rid of the burs the only thing that will truly kill them would be a herbicide and that would kill everything else too OR pulling them out by hand making sure to twist and get the roots. So I'm pulling those. Just doing this stuff late before sundown. Been too hot otherwise and I work the rest of the day. May try to spray in the morning if it is not too breezy. I have some spray that goes on the hose that seems to kill a lot of stuff and not hurt the grass so will try that again. Gee twice on here in one day! That is doing pretty good.
Take Care and Thanks!

Good morning!

Melanie - Wow! Twice in one day must be a recent record for you I hate weeding too. At the moment it is just way too wet to even attempt anything like that though.

Mandy! Good top see you are still popping in. Good for you getting the basement organised. I agree - it is much easier to scrap when everything is tidy and in it's place. Life just gets in the way sometimes and one ends up scrapping on a pile of the last few pages, LOL.

The sun is finally shining again here although it is still cold. Spring really only starts here on 1 October...

Good Morning Sweet Peas!

I'm up early this morning doing some baking. We are going out to my parents' farm later today for a cook-out (one of my three times I go to see them annually), so I'm making a few desserts. One of my cousins and her kids will be there too, so Grif will have somebody to play with, which is nice. The kids usually fish while we are out there and Mallory & Ron have a rifle that they do target practice with when we go there.

I haven't really heard from my parents since my Grandpa passed away. As most of you know, they are a little "special", so we have a weird relationship. Hopefully, they can refrain from going on and on about how awful he was and how they should have gotten more money when he died...they drive me crazy with that stuff. They also like to talk horribly about my sister...which I don't enjoy either, I still think I was switched at birth with someone who now lives in a normal family.

Mandy - You go girl...get that scraproom whipped into shape. It's awesome to see you here, we've missed you.

Melanie - my neighbors at our old house tried the vinegar version of weed killer and they had yellow polka dots all over their yard where it killed the grass too. They had such perfect "dots" that it was funny, we were glad that they found the humor in it too. I hate pulling weeds too, I pay Griffin a couple of dollars for each trash bag full that he pulls, it's a bargain.

I started working on pages for Mallory's Nicaragua album yesterday. I'm doing it Project Life style. She has about a zillion photos, so it's really the only way for me to get it put together, it would take me years to scrap them the normal way.

Well, I hope you all have a nice day! I need to get moving.

Happy Labor Day to the US Gals and happy Monday to Michelle.

Melanie, whoo hoo, try and keep coming back. Even daily would be great!!!! I just spray the actual weed, not broad spraying. I set the nozzle to jet. Means bending over and pulling the leaves up to get the root but it works. I also use a weed and feed that attaches to the water hose in the Spring and Fall. Not sure how it does it but it kills weeds and not grass. Doesn't kill them all but does keep them down. I'd try Tina's method, pay a local little kid!

Tina, prayers for you today. Know how hard it is to deal with stressful families. I think the quote about "there's one in every family" really means, "there's one normal person in every family, everyone else is nuts!" That's my motto anyway.

Well I didn't sleep well again! Its so humid I think that may be the problem. I checked on a dehumidifier but the smallest one was over $250. Forget that. Anyway, if I take a Benadryl or Nyquil I sleep great for about 5 hours or so. If not, I wake up every couple of hours. Really not a huge difference and it's not good to take medication every night so I don't.

Since I didn't drag my lazy butt out of bed til almost 8:30 I didn't go walking. After it cools off tonight I'll go. Lots of yard sales and the flea market is huge this morning but I'm being good and staying home, too much junk in this house already!

Happy Labor Day ...not so much a holiday as I've been running around trying to get stuff ready for tomorrow when the boys start school (1/2 day) but so many forms etc to find and organize and fill out...eeks.

Went to Value Village's 50% sale today and got 4 more pair of decent looking jeans (total $16) to round out the new pairs I bought. If the weather holds we won't be wearing jeans for a few weeks anyway.

Kids are at Frisbee practice (yep even on a holiday) and it's quite warm out. I gave them each 3 bottles of water... and told them if they got too hot to use one on their shirts. I'm sure they will drag in complaining. My kids don't like warm weather (anything above 60 is warm to them). Can't blame them when they are running back and forth on a large open field.

Gotta figure out something for dinner.

Change of plans, ended up going to Paula's house after I posted this morning. She was off today and got her new cellphone. She needed help figuring out how to use it and we started taking wallpaper down in her house. Her smart phone turned out to be much smarter than we were! She got a Samsung Galaxy Rugby phone, my sister swears it's easier than the iphone--it's not. We spent hours trying to figure it out and still don't really know how to use most of the stuff on it. Had my sister call her tonight and see if she can talk her through some of it (she wasn't available to call during the day). Ended up blowing a fuse in her house so we stopped stripping wallpaper and called it a day.

well didn't do as well as I thought with the jeans...2 pair fit, one (was labeled incorrectly...saying it was 30 inches long but someone had hemmed them to about 26 inches (looked hideously funny on Noah--capris anyone?)and the other although in the men's department and labeled by waist and length, turned out to be women's pants. They fit me, but I'm not really a jean girl, so not sure I'll keep them. Oh well. At least I got 2 pair that fit and a nice belt and pair of shorts that worked also.

I've been anxious all day. Feeling guilty about not going out of town after all (friends stayed longer than we expected, and then there was the expense of the window and car repair) but mostly the boys didn't want to go anywhere...just hang with their friends and play their games. The ex will surely be livid given he (well his newest wife) ended up bringing the headgear and meds to us with the expectation that we might be leaving for vacation although all I said was "the 2 week time was our vacation time and because the boys wouldn't be going to their house for their normal visitation, they couldn't be without their headgear or meds that long)...but given some of the comments made (that I didn't bother to correct) in the ensuing days, I think they assumed we were leaving town. I shouldn't feel guilty I know. We can spend our vacation as we see fit. They don't tell me what they are going to do on their vacations so I shouldn't have to inform them of ours but I'm sure they won't see it that way. Hopefully I'm wrong. Of course it isn't going to help that when we went to the orthodontist he told Owen to stop wearing his headgear for awhile (just a few days after the left behind headgear scenario).

I'm struggling with a decision concerning this year's band. Of course the band instructor who keeps saying to email/voice mail him, has never responded to my emails or voicemails that I've left in June and throughout the summer. School officially starts Wednesday and Noah is still without an instrument. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do if the high school does not have a loaner instrument. I feel frustrated as does he, since he is a good musician and is being held back by inferior and poorly maintained instruments but to rent-to-own an alto sax of his skill level is $100/month (way out of my price range). Putting it out to the universe hoping something will transpire.

That is one issue, but not the one I'm struggling with the most. The band instructor wants all the incoming 9th graders to participate in a band camp the second weekend of school (at a cost of $165/ea) to introduce all the kids to marching band as well as do some social bonding. I think Marching band could be a hoot (the boys aren't sure about it but that's why they do the camp to show them how fun it is)but of course since football games land on Friday nights, with visitation on alternate weekends it would be very dicey. I can not see my ex allowing the boys to participate on his weekend (he hasn't really let them do anything on his time) and I don't know if the band instructor would permit partial attendance...and since I can't talk to him, I'm stymied as to whether to submit the fieldtrip paperwork or not, but it's due on the 6th. Then there is the issue that it falls on a weekend that ex traded for so he and the newest wife could take a vacation in September...

Of course he doesn't want them to do Frisbee either but since the practices and games (as far as I can tell) land on the weekdays that is my time so I've let them sign up for it without discussing it with ex (since there is no such thing as a discussion with him) and the boys need to do a PE waiver anyway since they are doing band at school (provided Noah gets an instrument) and Japanese so no extra time period for PE at school.

Do all parents feel this anxious or is it just because I have such a non-cooperative ex-spouse to work with? This co-parenting gig is HARD and I'm an anxious wreck trying to figure it out

I know, breathe. It will work itself out one way or another...but it is stressful.

Aw, Debi, I feel for you. You certainly have it harder as there is no support from the ex to even drive the kids around, not to mention not even wanting them to participate. I'd have a hard time if Heinrich wasn't willing to take kids to parties/sports/or even just be with them while I'm at work, esp Saturday mornings. Co-parenting your way sounds HARD. (((((big hug))))) Just remember you can only do so much and if it doesn't work out, well, sometimes things just don't. No use in stressing about it too much if you have done everything you can (like the teacher not answering his mail.)

Happy this morning, realized my jury duty stint doesn't start til tomorrow! It's going to be pretty outside today and I'm hoping to spend the most of it in the fresh 80 degree air. Hope the weather man is right, haven't stuck my head out the door to check.

Debi, since you asked for advice, I don't think marching band will work with the boy's crazy schedule or your finances. They practice (at least around here) every day and go somewhere to play every weekend. Since even the camp is going to be out of your budget, I say forgo it. I have friends that kids do marching band and they are out a fortune every year with just travel/meals to see the shows, plus the kids money to travel even if they can't go themselves. As for the instrument for regular band, call the school or school board, ask for the guidance counselor or student support person and tell them you've been trying to reach the band director but you keep missing him/her. If there are any funds to help with instruments, they'll know. It would be sad if he can't be in the band because of finances but it won't be the end of the world. He is old enough to understand that when you only have so much coming in choices have to be made. He'll be upset but he'll get over it and he'll learn a valuable life lesson. Now stop beating yourself up over it, you're doing the best you can.

I went for my walk this morning, hurray for me! The route they've chosen for the 5K run/walk isn't an easy one, a few hills that I think will be tough for runners and unless they take the road there are a couple of places with steps in the sidewalk that will certainly be tough on Jackson and his unicycle. I only did the route once (it'll have to be done twice to make the 5K total on Saturday) and it took me 20 minutes at a leisurely pace (stopping a few times to chat with people and to read a sign that they put up at a park). I could have went again but walking by myself several people thought I broke down somewhere (great thing about living in a small town, people looking out for each other). I figure they thought no way someone so skinny was walking for exercise, LOL. Anyway, I'm going back tonight with a friend (the lady whose 19 year old son was diagnosed with cancer). She used to walk 2 miles a day but since KB got sick she's not been able to and she said she's gained a lot of weight sitting in the hospital waiting room where eating and reading are her only activities. Trish may go with us too, we'll see what her schedule allows. She's going to run most of it with a little walking in there too. She did another 5K run/walk a few weeks ago and came in 4th for her age. Pretty good for her first one. I don't plan on running at all so I'll be happy just to be there.

Hi ladies,

Tina thanks for the new thread.
I hope to be around a little more this month. Getting use to my full time hours.

We spend memorial day in St. Petersburg FL, just East of Tampa GORGEOUS beaches. I tell you if you want beautiful beaches with soft white sand, the west coast of FL is it. So. Beach, Miami Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood are nothing compare to the West coast from Marco Island to the Pan handle it's all beautiful. If you want to go clubbing, amazing food and weird people then head on over you will love the East side. LOL!

Debi... I agree with Theresa, I was not able to be on the marching band because it was just way too expensive and my mom could not afford it. Monica wanted to join and so did Tyler and we had the money but it was a fortune. You have a lot of practice and you travel a lot and if you commit to the band they need you so is not like you can pick and choose which events you will attend. Think about it your ex is not a sensible man. I hope you can figure it out and do what is best not just for the kids but also for you and your tranquility.

Mel and Mandy..so good to see you ladies.

Well going to continue working on a mini album I'm going to auction on ebay. I decided to do some and make some money for Christmas. Last few times I have done that they have sold.

Hope y'all have a great day.

Diana, saw your gorgeous photos on FB. Looks like you all had a wonderful time. I've been down there before, it is beautiful.

Walked the whole route tonight. My friend Lisa made one circle, Greg made 1-1/2 and Trish, Jackson and I did the whole thing. Jackson on a unicycle!!!! That means I walked 4-1/2 miles today. Might be sorry tomorrow, LOL.

Hello, Chatty Scrappers!!!

It's nice to be home. We went to Idaho for a family reunion (my siblings and families) and had the most wonderful time. My brother lives right on the Snake River and had rafts and paddle boards for river fun. We had all my siblings and spouses and lots of their children and grandchildren. My brother and SIL were such wonderful hosts. It was such a great weekend.

We went up on Mt. Harrison where DH and I were fire lookouts the first summer we were married. It was such a cool experience to reminisce about that early time in our marriage. The views were breathtaking and I took tons of photos. We used to hike down to Lake Cleveland sometimes for an evening, so we went there too and played in the water a little while. Our DD and family went with us. It was fun to show the DGDs all our fun sites.

Thank you everyone for the new thread and the great challenges. I'm going to start on Debi's tonight.

I'm exhausted. Came home and did Cubs today and I'm ready to relax a bit and maybe scrap.

I am happy to report that even after scrapping, my desk is still clean. Randy asked who I was this morning and what I had done with his real wife!!!
Theresa, this had me laughing. I think Steve thinks this same thing when my room is clean. BTW, thanks for the link to the dog card. I'm going to make one.

Waving to all. I'll chat more later.

Hello everybody!

Theresa- good for you for getting out and walking. Hope you got pics of Jackson on a unicycle !! I walked fifty minutes today, and it felt good.

Diana- I LOVE St Petersburg beaches, havent been there in twenty years but am just dreaming of going back.

Nylene- glad you got to revisit your past a bit!

Debi- I am so sorry your ex doesn't co-parent well. Not only does it make your job as a single mom even harder, but it hurts the kids. I am lucky that my ex and I co-parent really well. My girls are in tons of things, and I do most of the running, but he will help out if I really need it. My oldest joined marching band this year (as a senior!) and they REALLY put a lot of time into practicing. I really wish she didn't join. I think she's overscheduled herself. It is a bit costly for competitions and stuff.

Monica B- I LOVE your profile photo on here, it's adorable!

School starts tomorrow here, and my relaxed summer lifestyle has ended! Holly is taking two college courses after high school, plus marching band. Grace made the varsity soccer team, and Miranda does travel soccer, dance and acro. The next two months will be pretty crazy!

It is so awesome to have my scrap stuff all organized. I have been mighty productive! I finished three Chatty challenges and am almost done with an album i've been working on all year. I put a bunch of pages in the gallery, but i am only going to link the challenge ones. I need to take better photos of my pages.....

anyway,
For Debi's fall theme challenge
AUTUMN

For toni's sketch challenge

n-a-string-chatty-scrappers-sept-2013'>On A String'>On a String

and for Tina's paint challenge
ALWAYS TOGETHER

Holy cow, it's been so long since i linked pages, i am so NOT good at it, took me forever lol!

Well, see ya later!

LOL Mandy...so it's YOU who broke the gallery...It can be pretty finicky sometimes. I managed to go to your gallery and see your awesome pages. You've been busy.

Kids got their schedules today (they share only 2 classes together-Japanese and Band)...they have the same classes and I think even the same teachers but different periods for the others. They only know 1 or 2 kids in each class so it will take some getting used to and learning how to make new friends as freshman this year in a larger school (1800 kids vs 950 in middle school and 450 in elementary)...wait til college when it jumps to 35,000 or more....I know my first college class had more than twice as many people (750)in it than my whole high school (300)-it took a bit of adjusting.

We started the school year with a bang (Literally-thunder and pouring rain) right on cue. LOL It let up by the time the boys were done with their activities, so they called and chose to walk (this is a first) to an old friend from elementary school's house. I picked them up later.

I then ran errands (well I went to the bank and library after dropping them off at school this morning).

Noah was able to talk to the band instructor about borrowing a sax--he said he'd work on it tomorrow. Of course, he still hasn't responded to me at all. He's worse than my ex when it comes to communication. I hope this isn't a peek of what the next 4 years will be like.

This week will be about getting all the loose ends figured out.

Can't believe it is already September.

Good Morning Peas!

Happy Wednesday! Theresa, thank you for the prayers on Monday, we actually had a really pleasant visit with my parents. It was beautiful out and Labor Day was pretty mellow for us.

This is kind of crazy, but I was on TV last night. I helped make a commercial for the United Way and it aired last night and again on Thursday. Of course, I hate how I sounded and looked...but that is par for the course. They used some footage of me talking about being abused as a kid, I almost freaked out when I first saw it, but they did a good job of editing it. I had a brief moment when I thought I forgot what I told them and thought I might have said too much (I always try to be careful not to offend my parents), but it was okay. I've been going around doing United Way speeches all over the place for the last month, it's been kind of fun to go to all of the big businesses, most of them have been really nice.

Diana - I'm so jealous of your beach trip. I love going to the Gulf coast, it is really pretty all down that side of Florida.

I'm headed to Chicago for 4 days at the end of this month. I'm going to a conference about our agency's accreditation, that part will be boring, but I'm staying in a nice room right in downtown, so hopefully the manager that I'm going with and I can spend some time shopping.

Anywho, I need to run. Have a nice day all!

You know what day it is don't ya? Come on, you know. Yes. it's Humpday! That commercial cracks Randy up. He'll rewind the DVR and watch it twice every time.

Didn't wake up sore but sure am tired this morning. I slept horrible last night and I even took a Benadryl before bed for allergies. Kept waking up every hour or so all night. Have the Jury Duty thing to go to this morning so it may be a really long day!!!!!

I'll be back later to catch up on the thread.

Only spent a little over an hour at the judicial building today. It was just a "get organized" meeting. It turns out I was supposed to have completed a jury qualification form and sent it back LAST MONTH. I got the form but misread what it said and thought I only needed to send it back if I had one of the listed excused absences. I figure if I had sent it back I would have been excused and wouldn't have had to even go today, I'm such a goober. Now that I just turned it in today, who knows if I'll have to serve or not. I may get something in the mail telling me I've been excused after they process the form. I don't have one of the "approved" reasons but doubt they'll want me with Trish as my SIL. I also know the judge and when he saw me in the crowded room he looked confused. Looked at me, looked down on his form and then looked back. I, of course, wasn't on the printed form because I didn't send my paper back. So for now I'm on potential jury duty every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (with a rare Friday) for THREE months!!! If that's not bad enough, they can extend it up to 6 months. No way I'm going to get a job if I tell potential employers that. I sure wouldn't hire me. Maybe they'll think if I'm too stupid to complete the form correctly they don't want me, LOL.

Went to Joyce's afterward to take her some fresh green peppers and tomatoes that my friend Joann brought. She had me stop at the store to get my sister some Mums for her birthday for her on the way. While I was there I treated myself to some Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla with Pineapple ice cream. Wanted the strawberry or peach but they didn't have it. This is still REALLY GOOD!!!! Now I think I'll go have another cone full before deciding if I want a nap or to go outside.

Hey ladies,

I just finished doing my fantasy football draft and thought I'd swing by. I put together a couple of leagues for my staff. I messed up when I set the draft time and had people ready tonight for a draft that is tomorrow...oops.

Theresa - Jury duty does not sound fun. Three days a week for three months is a crazy amount of jury duty...I don't know how anyone would have a job if they did that.

Life here continues to go well. I'm doing interviews most of the day tomorrow, so it should be a pretty easy day.

Well, I'm going to get off the computer. Sleep tight!

Mandy, so nice to see you! Love the pages you have done this month. Your link doesn't go to a page where I could praise, but I found them through your profile.

Tina, I heard something on TV yesterday about fantasy football and immediately thought of you! Hope you have fun with it and that you win.

Toni, I love your sketches and want to try them. Off on Labor Day???....lucky you. Hope you had a lazy day.

Theresa, I have had jury duty 3 times. Only once was I chosen and then after about an hour, the defendant took a plea deal and they dismissed us. Another time I would have missed my parents 60th wedding anniversary and we (the siblings) had planned a huge reception for them. The judge thought that was a once in a lifetime event and excused me. The rest of the time I would like to have served but was never called. I would guess they won't use you if you are too closely known by court personnel. Good luck on the job hunt. Any news?

Debi, did you check into the state regs for fees and school activities. They did a news story the other night on Utah's regs that say no student can be denied ANY activity because of $. Hope you get things worked out and that you can get a band instrument from the school. I'm sorry you have such a hard time dealing with the ex.

Michelle, I love your challenge this month. I have several tools I need to dust off and use more. Now to decide which one!

I finished Debi's challenge to scrap fall. These are photos of DGD and a neighbor child playing in the leaves. I love the sheer abandon on their faces as they play. DD just gave them to me to scrap before we left for Idaho. The ride up the mountain was the inspiration for doing these pages.

Still working on the fees for school (Japanese added another $35/ea for Kanji books) and getting an instrument for Noah. School isn't very helpful with navigating this but I'm trying to be persistent. Bad enough with one child, twice as daunting with 2. Oy!

Raining hard, thunder and lights flickering. May lose power, already lost internet once. Fall is back. So hard to see the rain after such a beautiful and dry summer. But we're known for our rain, so I should not be surprised.

Have a good day.

Gorgeous day here today, right now it's only 82. It was 59 when we left to go play golf. Didn't play too bad but won't brag either. Randy went to take a nap and I'm thinking that's not a bad idea but it's SO pretty outside. They're saying bad winter so I really want to be out when I can. BUT I did spend the last 4-1/2 hours outside.

I ended up twisting my ankle yesterday afternoon when I decided to go outside instead of nap so I didn't go walk again last night. I think I was probably pushing my luck walking so far Monday and my ankle muscles were too tight which is why I hurt it so easily. Babied it all evening. Irritated both a little more today on the golf course and now they hurt on top of my feet right at the ankle meets leg mark. Naproxen and sports creme here I come!

No nap, tried, didn't happen. Instead, went out mowed the yard (riding mower) and then met a friend to walk 1/2 the 5K route. Didn't want to push it on my ankle. I'm pooped now.

Nylene, I have a good possibility of getting a job at home health. That's the only lead on one so far. Thanks for asking.

Kinda hot here today. Weird for Sept. for it to be this warm for so many days in a row. Could use a rain. Winding down the season. I should have time to work on my Etsy store again during business hours when the store is not so busy. It was empty until I relisted a few things today. Actually got home and had supper eaten all before 8 pm! I may even go down and try to make some sense out of my scrap space. Well, wanted to check in - Hello all and Later!

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to catch up on my work paperwork as tax season is approaching and I'm so far behind it's not even funny. Limiting my internet time at home, so I'll probably be a bit scarce this month.

Debi - Good luck with organising everyone and getting settled back at school. Everyone else with kids back too! We are slowly winding down for our spring holiday of 10 days at the end of the month. Most of the assignments are done, so Mom has less homework

Happy Friday all!

Have my monthly scrapbook crop tonight so have to gather stuff for it today. Was going to go to Joyce's and work on painting her cabinets but I slept funny on my right hand and have irritated that darn nerve again so it hurts to grip stuff this morning. Now I have to come up with an excuse without telling her I have a problem. Think I'll say that since Randy's home til 1 p.m. and I have my crop at 6 I'll have to come another day. She'll buy that, maybe.

Just dropping by to post my 2pager. I'm off to help teach a 4-H workshop on giving demonstrations. I'm hoping my granddaughters will want to compete in the 4-H Demo contest this month.

I posted it last night but got interrupted before I could link it.

Don't faint, I scrapped. Did a quick page for a speed scrap. Now back to your normal programming.

Just thought I'd show you what we have been doing for the past 5 hours. We had a severe rainstorm and the city storm drains couldn't handle it. Water filled the street and gutters and went over our sidewalk and straight into our carport. We were able to keep the basement water to 3 inches, but the car was still in the carport when it filled to 4ft. What a mess. We have it cleared finally from the carport and the restoration guy (DSIL's) brother has the basement torn apart and drying. So all is well.
We are exhausted! I'll be back to chat later.

Happy Sunday all!

Oh Nylene, that is horrible! Hopefully the motor won't be ruined on the car and you won't have too much damage to the basement. I know that mold can build up really fast. Keep fans running down there for several days.

Toni, Randy's favorite place to sleep is his recliner!

Debi, hope you had fun at your Moms.

Michelle, yuck taxes! Good luck finding all the receipts and better luck staying off the internet while you look.

Tina, hope you're having a fun family weekend that doesn't involve anything to do with your job.

Melanie, hope the weekend sales are good.

Mandy, come back!! You'll never remember how to post if you stay away so long again.

Think I got everyone.

We went to the illusionist (fancy word for magician) last night and it was awesome. The place was sold out and I don't think anyone left without saying, 'how'd he do that?' over and over. They travel all over the world so if you get the chance to see The Spencers Illusionist Theatre, take it.

Church today and then we're going to be lazy. Well at least I think we are, Randy hasn't said anything about going anywhere.

Good morning, I'm so busy these days. Plus sharing the computer with the two girls. Someone is getting a laptop for Christmas. This is not fun having to share. LOL!

Today we have 6 of the 7 kids coming for a BBQ, Tyler came home about 2 weeks ago, to take care of Bucky he had back surgery doing so much better. Ty goes back on the 11th, we are going to miss him so much. So with my Nephews, sister and mom we will be 15 FUN!! Stan spend all night cooking and all morning cleaning the back porch. I can't wait to have them all here, I love a big crowd.

Theresa..I wish I had a monthly crop, the CTMH crop I use to go to the girl stopped doing it so now I have no where to go. That show sounds great, glad you enjoyed it. I too think that commercial is hilarious.

Nylene...That's horrible, hope you did not loose anything important in the basement.

Michelle..I HATE preparing for the taxes. Have fun!!

Debi...How was the first day. I have over $120 in fees for Monica, not including her track fees, that I'm still debating. Her father is not helping with anything these days. Can't you pay them over time? I know here you can. It does not hurt to ask. We had rain almost everyday this summer, still raining daily. It's not really the sunshine state during the spring and summer months, it rains almost every afternoon.

Mandy...Stay around, love seeing your work.

Tina..Stan does the fantasy football also. Have fun and good luck!

Well waiving to everyone else, have a wonderful day.

NYLENE that sounds awful...is the car going to be ok? ANd your basement: any losses? Water damage can be so yucky. My basement floods regularly in the winter but never that much. That sounds like something neither of you needed to have to deal with...hope you get some rest today.

DIANA the boys are back in school. Still trying to sort out their fees. The school seems so disorganized, I'm having a hard time deciphering what we owe other than the fact that it's way more than I have. Other than that the boys seem to be accepting school ok and at least, they seem to not dislike their Japanese teacher which is a huge plus. MOre as time goes on.

I had a pleasant time with Mom but the casino kept our money yesterday. There was one point I was ahead, but didn't walk away early enough. It's so hard to stop playing...I can see why people get addicted to it.

Home today...hunting for graphing paper composition books (both stores I stopped at yesterday were out)...probably need to stop and get gas and grocery today too.

Catch you all later.

Evening all. Diana, glad to see you scrapping.

Debi, sorry you didn't come out ahead at the casino. Randy won a whopping $2 on the lottery. He spent $2 buying two tickets so at least he broke even.

Went to Jackson's soccer game at 1:30 and it was very muggy, have had a headache since. He didn't even play that well either, LOL.

Praised up to here.
