I bought an Epson Workforce 7510 in March and have had nothing but trouble with it since! It constantly loses its connection and I spend more time trying to troubleshoot problems with it than anything else. Tonight was the first night since the spring that I was going to spend scrapping... Instead I've been trying to get this darn printer to print and I got nothing done!

Does anyone else have issues like this?

Yes. I had an epson artisan 837 and had problems before the year was up. This was around last November. They send a refurbished one and this summer I started having issues with it again - same issues and it got to the point where it quit working altogether after trying to figure out how to fix it. When they work they work beautifully and print the most beautiful pictures, I don't think anything can beat an Epson for its print quality, but it's just too frustrating to get them to work properly. I replaced the Epson with an HP since I had owned one a long time ago that I loved and it lasted forever, I only replaced that one b/c I wanted an all in one several years ago. So far so good.

If you are printing photos from a Mac or iphone/ipad, you may have to get an Apple router.

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with your printer. I got an Epson Expression XP-600 last December and I love it. It does print great photos and I haven't had any problems with it. I'm terrible at troubleshooting so I feel pretty lucky it's been working well for me.

That would have to be so frustrating! I took my mother out about a year ago and she bought an Epson artisan, and has had no problems with it at all. It worked beautifully. She was using a pc.

I've had problems with an older cannon printer on a pc (as far as working with photoshop) and am guessing its just not compatible with the newer ps program. But not sure what could be happening with a newer model printer.

Did you try contacting Epson? I haven't had any trouble at all with my Workforce (its a 630, not the same model as yours).

Thanks for all your responses! I wouldn't generally post something like this but I was really hoping to spend the night scrapping rather than spending 4 hours trying to get my freakin' printer to work!

I think I have a dud printer. When I first got it, I had all kinds of connection issues. Epson support really is great and they did offer me a new printer, but after troubleshooting with the support guy on the phone, we were able to get it to work so I thought that it was fine. However, this printer gets very little use during the summer months, and although we did print (or try to) from our iPads, we were usually able to get the odd page we needed if we just powered off the printer and then turned it back on. I attributed it to not being used... crazy thought process. But it seems that the issue runs deeper than that. Somehow there is no IP address for the printer. It's gone... no idea how or where or what happened but it's nowhere to be found and that means that I absolutely cannot connect wirelessly - which defeats the whole "airprint/wifi" reason I bought it! In any event, apparently all the technical difficulties I previously had with this printer are recorded and the message on file is to "escalate this complaint to the highest customer service rep". So, I'm just about to call back and hopefully they will resolve my issue ... for good!

Thanks for hearing my rant! I don't usually do that!

I have an Epson 1900 (large format) printer. I have had it for about 5 years and have never had an issue other than the ink running out. But thats my fault. lol I had and Epson 280 before that and it lasted several years as well. But when they quit they quit. Hope you get your issue resolved.

I hate my Epson, too. Right now it sits in a corner waiting for me to need to scan something, but I never use it to print any more and it hasn't been visible to my modem for a very long time.

Epson is sending me a refurbished printer. I should have it by Monday or Tuesday. To tell you the truth, I'm not particularly happy that it's refurbished, but as DH says, if it works, who cares! This one has had connection issues from the start... maybe the wifi chip or whatever it has installed is faulty... who knows... I'll still have the warranty until February so I guess if this one doesn't work, that's something... My fingers are crossed that this one works.

I bought Epson because I had read so many great reviews... now to see that so many others hate their Epson printers too... hmmm....

StreetScrapper, hope the new printer works out for you. I agree with your husband, if it works I don't think it will matter.

I have the Artisan 837 and I hate it too, but for other reasons! It feeds like crap! I fight with it all the time!!! If it is the least bit humid, forget it. Drives me insane!

Another update ... I don't think it's the printer... Long story but I bought an Apple Time Capsule and run my wireless connection through it... my printer is working like a charm... I guess that I will be returning the refurbished printer I receive next week and keeping this one...

So glad to hear you got it working. I know technology can be a real pain sometimes. I wondered if something was up with compatibility somewhere. This is good info to have for future reference. Thanks for updating!

We used to buy Epson printers, two actually, and had the same set of problems with both. Clogged ink sprayers, and we used them almost daily, alignment issues, etc. We tossed and went for Canon photo Pixma printers. Love them! Don't know much about HP. But we wanted individual color cartridges. We didn't want to have to toss an entire cartridge due to one empty color.

Well, maybe I spoke to soon... connection problems with the printer again. Refurbished one arrived today - just working on finishing the set up. My fingers are crossed that this one works!
