I have discovered that my beloved Slice isn't sold anymore, and neither are the Stampin' Up Stampin' Spots I love. Just saw the news on CM, too. What else?
I'm a very basic scrapper, and am getting even more basic. I'm recently divorced, and live in a one bedroom apartment with my 12 year old daughter (as cramped as you can imagine). In a couple of months we can put in for a two bedroom, but even then we have to wait until one becomes available. So, I'm looking to consolidate. I went back to my ex's a couple of weeks ago and brought my many boxes of scrapbooking supplies he had been holding in a closet for me. Everything is now on my brick fireplace. o_O
BUT...I want news on Slice/Cricut type machines, trimmers, albums, cardstock...even journaling pens, if there is anything new there!

there has been so much! I'm kinda in the same shoes lol. I've kept up a little, but wow have things changed. A lot of paper magazines either folded or went digital, including CK at the end of this year.

washi tape Had no idea about this until I came back a few months ago, versatile also as you can use it to cover chipboard, in place of ribbon, borders, tons of other things.
lots of new stuff just in The latest CHA products are rolling in, but the one thing I've noticed is that a lot of lines mix and match with colors. If you need a variety of lines that coordinate to save space, this is your moment!

Many embellishments have updated versions (enamel dots, wood veneers). The Cameo has a reputation as far as electronic cutters go.

Helen, it is amazing how much can change in such a short amount of time! I'm most surprised at the CM news. Hoping my Slice holds up. But, I won't die if it doesn't. I really love scrapping simply, just like when I started out. No pressure. Just doing what I want and having fun.

The new electronic cutter is the Silhoutte Cameo and Portrait(I think).
The Big Shot and Cuttlebug are still around.
Trimmers- There are a lot out there. Everybody has their favorite.
Albums- Love 3 ring We R Memory Keepers
Cardstock- There are more choices. American Crafts, Bazzill, etc.
Journaling pens- I love American Crafts precision pens and Slick Writer.
Mixed media is popular- includes, gelato, gesso, molding paste, water color, and some other odds and ends.
Welcome back to 2 peas and scrapbooking.
Good Luck

Check on these videos about Project Life, that was mentioned by a Pea in an earlier post. It is as simple or as elegant as you wish it to be. The supplies to do PL do not take up a lot of space and you can use some of your stash and convert it into PL style. A lot of PL scrapbookers have started using this IKEA cart for storing their supplies and tools. You can store it in a closet when not scrapping. Many, many companies now make products for using with project life.

My mother came to visit a while back and I had her watch the videos on here. By the second one, she was hooked. By the time she went home (she stayed two weeks) she had almost completed a 12x12 album scrapping her trip here and the things that we did during her visit. All she had left to do was to finish up by scrapping the trip home.

Some of the things that are being used now are:
Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher
Washi Tape
WRMK Pocket Pages
Becky Higgins Pocket Pages
Simple Stories Pocket Pages
All 3 of the above companies have 3 ring binders to hold the Pocket Pages
Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait
