I love the idea of a December Daily, I really do. However, I am single, no boyfriend, and I live alone so I feel it's a little more complicated and almost emotional for me (I moved after my fiancé past away last year and I have no family around me. Moving has helped me and gave me a life I didn't even realize I could have so it has been nothing but a blessing for me).
On that note, I was thinking about doing a daily in November for things I am thankful for. I know people do this on facebook every year, but I think I really think this would help me when I am feeling down and be something really cool to look back at when I am older to see how I and the times have changed.
Anyone want to join me. I know we still have another month, but that will give us enough time to gather supplies, get thinking and get motivated!

I think that is an awesome idea! I've already started putting together my "Tis the Season" album (I'm going to document from Thanksgiving through Christmas), but I may do this next year.

That sounds like a great idea. You might like Cathy Zielske's 30 Days of Thankful.

I'm so sorry for your loss and glad to hear that moving has helped you.

I did Cathy Zielske's 30 Days of Thankful last year, and it was an amazing exercise for me. I had just had a baby and thought I'd be too stressed to complete it, but I kept the journaling part up, and slowly finished the mini album as I was able to (December sometime, I think.)

If you'd like to see mine, here it is.

Love this idea! I really need something like this in my life as well...something I can reflect on when I need to. Maybe you can start a thread on Nov 1st so we can all have one place to discuss our progress. Just a thought .

One question...I never did a DD. So do we make the "30 days of thanks" like into a mini or just layouts? Just wondering

I did 30 days of thankfulness on FB last year. Halfway through, I decided it HAD to be in an album, so I made 4x6 cards with each day's journaling. Longer journaling spilled across two cards. I put these in divided page protectors with a Simple Stories paper line. It is quite possibly the most meaningful project I've ever done. Kudos to those of you who are going to try it!

This year, I hope to complete my first Journal Your Christmas project!

Good Morning Peas!

I'm so excited with the responses!!! I can't wait!

As for the album, you can do what suits you! Maybe you want a mini . Maybe you want something project life style and do it weekly. Maybe you like 12x12 layouts. There are absolutely no specific rules, so do what makes you comfortable!

I will start a thread a day or two before November and then do a post every day.

Maybe I'll even throw in a few simple and fun challenges along the way. Nothing you have to do but something to just mix it up a bit. (Ex-a recipe challenge where I suggest certain supplies to use ).

If you have any thoughts or ideas, post them! I'm getting ready for work and thankful for my job!

This is a FANTASTIC idea!!! I've done a December Daily the last couple of years, and thought I'd have a hard time, since we don't have kids - but it was surprisingly easy to find little things each day. This year I have been doing Project Life, and was a little sad that a December Daily might be redundant. Having a Thankful For or Blessings album is the PERFECT solution! Thank you so much for this idea!!!!

and ((hugs)) to you for all you've gone/are going through.

I had the same thought as bostonscrapper, but for different reasons, and have put together a list of 30 prompts. I will be posting that list (as inspiration, nothing you have to use) on my blog as well as my supplies a little later.
Super excited to see what everyone else is doing as I know this is going to be a great project!

Any examples to peek at?

I'm glad to see more join us!

So I've been thinking. I don't think I'm going to do a fall theme on my mini. I think I'm going to make it more everyday, maybe even treat myself and buy a new paperline and embellies for the project (it would be my first ever twopeas order)! I figure if I do something in an everyday line instead of a specific theme, I can leave it out all year and look back on it.
I also think I will do a junk journal and try to recycle/upcycle things to make my pages with!

No sneak peeks yet, but I'll see what I can find online or come up with myself!

Yeah I been thinking about if I'm going to make my mini fall theme or just general. I'm learning towards fall theme just because I have never done anything fall-ish

Just as an alternative, I kept a running text document which I added to each day - at the end of the month I formatted it into an 8.5x11 page of text which I slipped into my album. Definitely want to do it again - it will be fun to see what things repeat vs change.

Last November, I bought a decal tree with leaves from Target. Each day we all wrote down what we were thankful for and stuck the leaf on the wall next to the tree. I decided to leave it up all year long and may buy some additional leaves to add to it this year. I love being surrounded by our blessings.

I made my mom a Gratitude journal for Christmas last year. She loves it. This might give you some inspiration.

And as much as I love December Daily, my husband and I don't have kids, and we don't do something Christmasy every single day of December. I think it's more important to document the small things that are you in life right now - that Skype or FaceTime phone call you had with the family, the card they sent you for christmas, a pic of the cupcakes you made for the work christmas party (and what the work friends mean to you), etc. If you decorate your new place, you can make a page about your favorite ornament/christmas movie - and why it's your favorite.

I'm still thinking about doing a DD, or at least a Thanksgiving-New Years book. Maybe a fall themed Gratitude Journal is just what I need!

Well, this sounds kind of good to me...I don't know what a December Daily is to start with. I know that's probably dumb, but can someone explain it to me?

My sweet husband passed away 2 years ago, and I've not wanted to scrap for myself since then. Guess I kinda feel like my reason for living is gone, so what's the point in trying to scrap that

I have a done a little scrappin since he passed as I started a tradition of making a scrapbook for each of my nephews and nieces for their HS graduation.

You have inspired me to do this - finally. Every year I say I'm going to do a 30 days of gratitude album and I never do. I even bought an album last year. I think I get hung up on not having excellent photos for each item.

Decided I'm going to do this, this year. Life isn't so grand right now and I think this would make me think about the good things we do have right now. Think I will do a 6x6 and get the pages together over the next few weeks so I just need to journal and add any pics there may be.

Please let me know if you are going to make a seperate group etc as I would love to join.
