|Posted: 10/1/2013 9:31:19 AM|Thanks to Glitter Girl's new class I am finally tackling the hundreds of pictures I took of my son's first year. And not just in any old way! Thanks to her first chapter I created an outline for thematic series. First up: scrapping the pics with my youngest intently looking at my oldest. I didn't know what to do with these pics since he was always looking at his brother and not the camera. But then I asked myself why I was drawn to these pics. Realizing that I kept snapping away wondering what my baby was thinking about his brother (why is he so loud? do I look like him? who is this guy?) gave me all rationale and titles for my LOs. And since Glitter Girl said it was okay, I used one of her Shimelle's starting points because that always makes my scrapping a bit easier.
Do you use themes in your albums? Have you used Shimelle's starting points in your scrapping?

Great layout. I do use page sketches and starting points. Sometime I see a layout Shimelle did and I put my twist on it. I love all the garden girls. They really know how to inspire.

Great layout! I love to use the starting points too.
Here is my puzzle about themes - how can I make 4 pages into their own theme within a book that is already a themed book?
The book is for my 9 year old nephew and it's all about how he loves fishing. I am already working with a color scheme, etc. for the book.
Now I have decided that I want to make a single page for each of his 4 stuffed animals (fish of course). How would you make those 4 pages a theme within a theme book? Do I use the same page layout on all 4? or what else?

Love the thought process you had in getting your photos scrapped! I've used plenty of Shimelle's sketches, but never her starting point.

How would you make those 4 pages a theme within a theme book? Do I use the same page layout on all 4? or what else?
Even if you already have your colour scheme picked out is there something that you can tie in to just these four pages that still fits with the overall scheme? Maybe a pp choice or a certain embellishment?
