Looks like rain today so I'm thinking that once I get a few things done around the house that today is probably a really good day to start my Christmas cards... but for some reason I just can't get motivated to do them! I know that once I get going I'll be fine... and once I get them finished I can move on to something else but I seem to be having trouble figuring out just what I want to do with them this year, and I'm spending way too much time on Pinterest looking at what others have done! Have you started/finished yours this year?

I have not. Last year, I had big plans for making Christmas cards and never got them done! I think my problem is that I always want each one to be unique. This year I need to come up with a simple, uniform design! Hopefully that will motivate me to actually make them this year.

I love Christmas, but I don't think I am going to send any cards this year. The expense is just not worth it anymore, and I can't stand to think that the cards I put so much time into will be thrown away.

Anybody else feel this way?

I always make mine the weekend after Thanksgiving. I usually have the design worked out, but I spend the weekend on construction.

Christmas is my favorite holiday and for some reason I feel like a grinch this yr..lol I went down my christmas card list yesterday and took about half of the names off the list. There were so many that a christmas card is the only contact we have.
I put too much time and money on cards and don't want to send them to just anyone.
My plans are to start them on my next day off ( crossing my fingers)

Just remembered, I also have to figure out some kind of Thanksgivukkah card for my DH's family

I'm hoping to start them in about a week. I don't send out that many, but we'll have school portraits to enclose for the family. My daughter and I are going to choose our papers next week for the cards.

We don't send many, its not a Spanish custom and I subscribe to the idea of not sending cards to anyone I'll see at christmas, so I only have to make about 25. I do about 2 X 10 of the same and 5 individual ones. I also have to keep in mind the postage, so they can't be to heavy.
I've got one basic design done...just need to buy a load more ribbon but all the bits are cut and ready.
I have the basics for the second one but my Cameo is being a bit difficult about cutting the mirror board, so we'll have to see how it goes!

I have made my own cards for many, many years.
This is the first year that I started to colour some images this early.
I don't like to start any Christmas things until December.
Call it procrastination or not wanting the Christmas spirit to dwindle by December.

But on to the cards.
I used to make each card different.
Not only did that take a long time, but I also would agonize over who would get which card.
Last year I made all the same style cards, and used the same images but coloured them differently, didn't take as much time.
Plus once I coloured so many images, I ran the coloured images through my colour copier Even less pressure.

This year I am colouring different images, but all the same theme.
I will again run my images that I coloured through the colour copier to cut down on time.

My SIL has Christmas cards made for the next 5 yrs...she loves to make Christmas cards, lol.

I've made mine for about 5 years. I have about 30-35 to make and I only do one design, but I mix up the papers a little so that each one is a little bit unique. I tried doing several different cards one year and not only was the process stressful, I don't think I liked a single card I made! I was almost embarrassed to send them out that year. Last year I had one extra so when it came time to do a Christmas layout, I decided to do a 2-page spread and use one page to highlight the card. I LOVE the layout so much that I am going to be sure that I have an extra this year to do the same thing because its the only card that I've ever made that I actually have a copy of. I have a couple of ideas in mind for my card this year - one is light and cute and the other is more soft and traditional. I want the light and cute because I think that's just more "me"... but all of my cards are that way so I'm almost thinking I should opt for the other style. I think I'm going to do a "prototype" of each, see which one I like the most and then start the "assembly line" process of making the rest! Or at least that is the plan at the moment! I almost feel like I need Christmas music playing in the background!

I design my own photo cards and print them at Costco. I usually send 80-100 (big distant families) which is way too many for me to make. I just found out that Costco has a new affordable option for double sided card stock photo cards w/envies. I'm excited to try it out! I know which photos I'm going to use and I know that I want to do an info graphic. Now I just need to get it started!

I usually come up with the designs I want to use between now and Thanksgiving and make one of each. Then the week of Thanksgiving since I am on vacation I just get them all made and get them ready to go. Then on December 1st I mail them. I think I mail about 36 and a few of them are store bought.

I remember helping my grandmother as a child and I swear she sent like 100 of them. All of her siblings, nieces/nephews, kids and the multitude of friends she seemed to have got one. It was my job to stick the return address label and stamp on. Then I got to lick the envelopes.

Not started yet, but I did pick up a 25 pack of pretty red & white polka dot AC paper for $3 at BL that I would like to use for my cards. I'll probably start looking for my design soon, and maybe crank them all out (24 or so) at a day crop in 2 weeks. If I do it will be the earliest I have ever finished before Christmas!

I am drawing a total blank on the design of my cards. I make them every year in a two tier kind of way. People who get a kick out of handmade things get a card in the form of a decorated chipboard ornament. People who just want a little connection at the holidays get a handmade card too, but in a more traditional card design. There's always stamping involved.
This year: I am drawing a blank. I got nuthin'. I've had a very busy time at work and I'm spent. I'm going to try not to panic, it's October. I've got time, right?

Yes, mine are finished. November and December are busy months for me. There's too much stress if I wait until then. I only need to do one for my granddaughter. I make 35 cards, but they're all the same.

I haven't started my cards.
The last few years I've gotten a good deal on Tiny Prints cards.
So I'm waiting for that.
(And I need to get a good photo of me and DH too!)

Mine will be Thanksgiving cards - I have MUCH for which to be grateful. I've picked the paper - SU's sweater Weather designer paper on Very Vanilla CS, but no design yet. Need to get moving, thanks for the reminder! I'm down to 80ish, so it will be 1 design.

I've never made or sent out Christmas cards. Even before I started Scrapbooking. I really think its has to do with the fact that I don't like clutter, I don't keep cards when I receive them or photos of other people's kids so in my head I think it's me cluttering up other people's homes. I think it's great when people actually design, create and actually distribute/mail out cards. All the cards I make in the CTMH club and SU club I actuall gift in a cute basket with a book of stamps and a fine pen to my mother and aunts. They make a great gift.

Just finished them today. Did 12 last weekend and did another 16 today. I only used 2 sketches this year. I'm sure I'll end up making a few more as cards are received, but for now I'm considering them done.

I got about 30 done this summer, thanks to a crop and a card club hosted by a SU! friend in July. I need to go over my list and see how many people we are sending to but I think that will almost cover it.

Mine are all done. I send/hand out more than 100. I had them done before my birthday in late September. The kids and I will sign them during the parade on Thanksgiving Day. The following Sunday, I start passing them out to folks at church.
I already have plans for 2014 and 2015 Christmas cards.

I have mine started. Two different designs are prepped and bagged to work on at my crop weekend in a couple of weeks. I didn't want to have to carry all the punches and fancy paper cutter because I will be flying and didn't want excess baggage weight.

I've started my Christmas cards already - I'll be handing them out at Thanksgiving because that's when I'll be visiting!

Here's a way to get myself in a Christmas mood -

Christmas Smell - have holiday scented wax burner going
Christmas Music - Vintage classics like Dean Martin "Christmas Cocktails"
Christmas Movie - get the theme together and pretend it's near Christmas.

Being cold and windy here is helping as well.

Good luck!

I bought the stamp I'm going to use and have a rough design in my head. I only do 30-40 and make them all the same. I do like to have an interactive element on my page. Last year was a pop up reindeer. This year will be a sliding sled.

Just did mine, I just went to this website and chose an awesome design, I really like mine unique and that's why I liked this website!

I did these....
Peace on Earth
I love LOVE the concept and they are totally good priced, I haven't bought mine yet, but I am planning on doing it tonight because there is a coupon for 30% off that ends tomorrow! The code is ZOGGIN30 I love all the things from that designer! oh and you get 500 free points just for signing up! So it's totally worth it for awesome cards!

I also love this card!
Mint Christmas Card
