i dont do project life. but when i want computer journaling on my journaling cards on my traditional LOs I either use my typewriter or tape it to a full size sheet and insert in my printer after a trial print on a scrap piece.

I made a template in Pages and then I use a little adhesive on the back of the journaling card, stick it to a 4x6 scrap that has the template printed on it so I know where to put it, and run it through the printer.

I have a Canon Pixma printer with a rear feed tray. I set up my page size to either 4x6 or 3x4 according to card size and feed through the rear tray directly on my cards. Works great.

Lovely tips. Tell me what printers will do this well. My printer is useless.

I use transparencies and print on them. I wait for them to dry, cut it to the shape. Then run the transparency through my Xyron and stick it on the smaller journal cards. They are, as the name says, transparent, so you can't even tell you've done that. Way easier than trying to line up the cards properly.

I am not a fan of running journal cards through the printer as I've ruined several of them because the ink smeared/streaked, the paper didn't run through smoothly or I didn't have the paper on exactly evenly, etc. I have a Canon printer that is otherwise awesome, but running cards taped to paper through it is not a good idea.

I love transparencies! My work was throwing away like five boxes of them, so I snagged them! They are great for journaling and making your own stamped overlays. My printer feed teeth do not seem to want to accept paper with things stuck on it and always jerks sideways, shifting the paper. Transparencies work great.

I print it out on copy paper and play with it a bit to get it the size I need then I temporarily adhere the journal card/sticker/label over my journaling and run it through the printer again.

I have an HP Photosmart Premium printer and I run cards taped to paper through it all the time....no problems!
I've also run star shapes, doily shapes, bracketed shapes etc...through my printer.....

Lovely tips. Tell me what printers will do this well. My printer is useless.

The best printer for running little bits and bobs through is a REAR-feeding printer. Mine has the option of either rear feed or the roundabout way with the paper tray but I have it on rear feed only because I constantly run small things through. There's a great Epson printer that we have at the office that will do this well....
Epson at Office Depot
and mine is a Canon IP4950 Pixma. I bought it directly from Canon. I don't think they sell it anymore but they always have something similar. It was a newer version of another one I had that I loved.

Thanks so much Aliwin and Tracie for the printer suggestions.

Sorry, just one more printer question.
Will both the HP and the Epson you mention do a decent job with
the 2peas printables?
