It is November on the Young Scrappers thread, complete with the scent of spiced apples and pumpkin pie! This month we celebrate what we are grateful for, big and small, and prepare to hibernate for winter.

Who are the Young Scrappers? We are a group of "young" 20-something to 30-something year old girls who created a group to share our interest in scrapbooking! We take the "young" part lightly - it's all about how young you feel. Feel free to join in the chat! Just post an intro so we know who you are. And post links to your layouts here - we love to share our work & leave some praise!

-------------------------------

Our ongoing challenge for the year:

For the Pinspiration Challenge, we collaborated to create a list of 52 challenges - one for each week this year! The challenges were based off of layouts we had pinned on Pinterest or bookmarked online. It is a way to use some of that inspiration we are constantly pinning on Pinterest!

There really are no rules with this challenge! It is more just a way to motivate each other to scrapbook. Choose challenges from the list that you feel inspired by, create something, and share it with us! The goal is to see how many challenges you can complete in one year.

Here is the link to the challenge list to download: challenge sheet

And here is the Pinterest board with all the challenges and sample layouts: Pinspiration challenge on Pinterest

Every month, we will have a hostess to keep us motivated. For the month of November, our hostess is STEPH! Her instructions for the challenges are below:

Hi Monica! Happy November everyone!

Rachel, that is so many trick-or-treaters! How fun!

I won't be around much this month. I'm doing naniwrimo again this month -writing another silly teen romance. Actually it's a 20 yr old but . . . anyway, perhaps I'll check in at 4am once in a while when I am up with baby J.

Holy moly does time go by ever fast!

Loni, how long are your novels when you write them? I think I'd like to read them.

I seriously can't believe it is already November!!!

Challenge #1:

Make a layout, card, mini album, altered art, home decor item, etc. that has to do with "Thankful" or "Thank You". Just a few ideas: You could do a layout about something you are thankful for, a thank you card, a Thanksgiving/Thankfulness home decor item, etc.

Have fun with the challenge!

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting in Young Scrappers, so hello~. I consider myself a young (and a young at heart!) scrapper. I was introduced to scrapbooking in middle school, but took it up as a hobby a year ago since I needed a creative outlet. Scrapbooking is much more fun now though, especially since I can expand my supplies without having to worry about not having allowance money to spend.

And yay! It's November. I didn't do much for Halloween, but I have been more on a let's-get-November-going-so-Christmas-season-can-get-started type of mood lately.

Looking forward to get to know this group!

Hi girls,
So sorry for the end of October, I had other challenges waiting for you guys but life and troubles got in the way...

On the 22nd I had an interview but did not get the job... then I was in a frenzy to prepare us to move home.
Last Tuesday we went to visit the flat again without the previous tenant furniture, and the flat grow on me!
Last Wednesday we went to the agency to pay the deposit (6 weeks) and November rent, we signed the contract and got the keys!! Went straight after to the flat to take pictures of the meters to set everthing a our name
We set up a moving van for Friday evening and ask some friends to come and help us.
Thursday morning we receive an email from the agency telling us that the landlord refuses to sign the contract and want the keys back ASAP...
The landlord refuses to give an explanation or even to contact us directly...
later that day I receive a update from one of the website I used to find flats and what is advertised?? OUR flat, that we paid for.... and the price went from £960 to £1001 a month.... seriously?!?! all that for just £40....

Anyway, now we are back in square 1, in great need for a new flat, we have to be out of the house on the 20th of this month... and of course nothing good is advertised at the moment...

I am not vanting, I am passed that at this point. I spent a whole day crying, another being mad, but realised that there is no point and that stupid agency and landlord do not deserve my tears.

I had to tiday the whole living room who had our 27 boxes ready to be moved. So now we are living with the bare minimum and my scrapbooking supplies are no where to be seen...

I hope you had a better halloween than me.

@new girls: Welcome I am Caroline, 26, French, living in London, UK with my boyfriend Damien (Irish architect) I am a language teacher looking for a job AND a flat

Love everyone

Hey Girls!! I'm sorry I've been MIA these past couple of months. I can't believe its November 3rd already. My job has been extremely crazy since I returned from vacation in August. Usually the start up of school is a little hectic but it's been worse this year with all the new regulations for NYS schools

For anyone new I'm Tessa, 28 from a small rural town in way upstate NY. Mom to a 2 year old daughter and wife to a farmer Been scrapping for about 3-4 years but more frequently in the past year-year and half.

I just attended my first 3 day scrapbook retreat. It was awesome!! I won a $50 gift certificate to a local scrapbook store there. I finally rearranged my scrapbook room in our house and feel like I'm getting more accomplished because Allie can play while I work in there

Have a great rest of your Sunday. We're relaxing today. I'm looking forward to my hubby making Almond Joy cookies.

Hey girls. I seem to keep going MIA. Lol. Life just keeps getting in the way. I'm about to try to get back into scrapping. I want to move & the less supplies I have to move the better.

I am now single again as of a month ago. Thought he was the one

But all of that is in the past & I'm trying to move to Kentucky. Go to nursing school. & have a brand new life

So I'm also frozen. No more stuff.

Melissa and Camille, Nanowrimo is a challenge to write 50K words - a novel the size of the Great Gatsby - in one month. It's just a draft, no re-writing or editing, so no I won't let anyone read it. SORRY! I didn't even let Brian read any of last years, but it was a teen romance, so why would he even want to? haha

Caro, I can't believe that happened to you! Insane! but maybe you'll get a really good landlord this time. It's as important for you to find a good landlord as it is for them to find a good tenant.

Well hello to everyone else. I hope everyone is having a good month so far.

Looks like I might be able to get some things done in my room. Yesterday was not a great day for me. Went to our local post office, went to get out of the car fell on uneven pavement and I felt & heard a loud pop in my right ankle. I collapsed and ended up in the ER. I'm now in an air cast and on crutches. The worst part was having my daughter watch me cry hysterically because it hurt so bad lying on the ground. We try so hard to not show pain or that something is wrong in front of our kids. She just kept repeating throughout the day "mommy, boo-boo, fell, road"

So my mom is taking Allie like usual and I'm going to hobble into my scrapbook room and do what I love to get my mind off the pain. I'd like to start getting more involved in the challenges here.

Have a great Tuesday.

Quiet this month... Ladies?

Hi new girls! Melissa, 23, Vancouver, BC. Boyfriend is Jonny

Tessa, omg poor you! I hope you are okay and feeling a bit better! How long do you have to be on crutches/cast for? Hugs no fun getting serious boo-boos!

Loni, bummer... Is it because you secretly have a 50 shades of side jk! I hope it goes well.

Bethany, hugs! Sorry it didn't work out. Someone else will come in time who's right for you.

Caro, sorry about then flat. I saw on FB that's a REAL bummer!

Haha Melissa, no, these 2 novels have been YA. I'm 14000 into this one and it is terrible! I hope I learn something from this so it's not a complete waste of time.

Caro! How is the flat hunting coming? Maybe Melissa can find you something in Vancouver.

Hi girls!

I've been so horrible at keeping up with all of you lately I was hoping after my exam at the end of October that I would have more time.. But sadly this period I'm doing two courses that are super difficult... It's even more difficult than I expected it to be

Anyway.. Between school, work, wedding prepping and family time there's not much time left for keeping up over here at YS.. Trying to keep up a bit via instagram.. there's so much going on in everyones lives!!

Not much time for scrapping either btw.. It's sad.. Much ideas going on and lots of new pictures printed.. Even ordered some new stuff.. A handbook and a SC project life kit. Ordered these items to make an album that documents 'the road' from engagement to wedding (or honeymoon).. If I ever get to it

Anyway.. I try to better my life and check in more often

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey Girls,

Just checking in real quick as I'm having my lunchbreak Worked from home this morning and I'm off to Amsterdam for class in a bit.. Not completely prepared for class as the instructions for one course haven't been posted up until now.. Instructions for the other course were posted late yesterday afternoon, so didn't have much time for those either It annoys me.. These two courses are hard enough as it is and I want to prepare myself well during this period, but these teachers make it hard on me Exams for both courses will be shortly after new years.. so I know how I will be spending my holidays

Anyway.. enough of the whining It's quiet here! Looks like I'm not the only busy one over here Will check in again later this week

Wow it's awfully quiet on the board this month. I hope I didn't scare everyone off

Brrrr it's getting very chilly here. 17* this morning I guess winter is on its way.

I completed a mini-album I've been quite busy in my scrapbook room surprisingly. What is new with everyone else?

Super quiet around here lately... I'm partly to blame. Sorry! I can't hardly tell whether I'm coming or going these days.

Today is my birthday I went to lunch with my cousin, got a new hair cut & color, and had birthday dinner/drinks at a Spanish tapas place. It was sooo nice. I don't want the day to end!

But I feel old.

Camille, I organize my printed photos by story. I put the photos for a possible lo in a little flip photo album. It's not organized by date or anything.

On the computer I organize by month and year and tag names and events. And I rank them with 1, 2 or 3 stars. 3 stars get printed. (Learned this idea from Stacy Julian).

My sweet neice wants to scrap with me today. My house is a mess but scrapping sounds more fun. Wdyt? Should I go get her?

No posts in 6 days! I'm bumping us up

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes!

So I finished my classes early and have a few days before my next ones start. I am going to get super crafty this weekend! Hoping to work on my December Daily, do some Christmas cards, maybe Christmas crafts, and hopefully a sewing project, too. I know, big expectations huh?!

It is FREEZING here today. I guess winter is showing its face early. Yet another reason to stay cuddled in the house this weekend

What has everyone been up to?

I think we need a little game to get the thread moving again!

In honor of Thanksgiving in the U.S. next week, let's go through the alphabet and list what we are thankful for. So I will start with A, the next person says something that begins with B, the next person does C, and so on.

A = air conditioning and heat!

ready.... set... GO!

Hi girls, so much for keeping up with you ladies more...life has literally exploded (or perhaps that should say imploded) since oct. I am currently working in school on work experience. I am enjoying it but the paper work is killing me! My mum is doing well so far. She has lost her hair from the chemo unfortunately. But she is coping well thank god. I am keeping up with the girls that use Instagram but I'm not postin much there either. Roll on 6th december when I will be finished with college until jan!
Monica, sorry I missed your birthday. I hope you enjoyed it.
Today I am grateful for an amazingly supportive bf who is taking really good care of me at the moment. I am coming home to some lovely home cooked meals and hugs.
Hope you are all doing well xx

Wow, it's been so long since I've logged in. With the new position at work, I haven't had time to log in, and with family and the holidays around the corner, it's been a bit crazy. Some days I don't even know what I do.

Monica - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! How is the freeze going? I don't think I would be able to do that. Also thanks for the game. I know what D is going to br for.

Loni - Good luck with the book, my cousin is a freelance journalist and she is writing one too. She isn't letting me read anything either.

Tessa - I hope you are feeling better with your leg. When does the cast come off?

Caro - I am so sorry about the flat. I have my fingers, toes, legs, and arms crossed that you find something soon. I have apartment hunted and it's not easy or fun.

Well I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. Does anyone have fun plans for the holiday?

Caroline, my hair is falling out from having the baby or breaatfeeding or whatever the reason. Should I save it and make a wig for your mom. How would she like being a redhead?

I hope you get to do all those things Monica. I also have a lot going on and want it done by Thanksgiving. Someone come hold Jack for me!

F - Thankful for my family and friends. They are always there for me and so supportive. I'm thankful for the friends I've made on twopeas!

Air cast came off last week. My ankle is still very large and swollen. I'm just happy to be walking somewhat normal again

We just got in from watching a holiday parade, very chilly a nice 24 degrees but my daughter loved it.

Yay, I am so happy to see more updates on here! I know it's a busy time of year... I need to make an effort to check in more, though.

Caroline- Sure sounds like you are still busy busy! Are you in student teaching, or are you doing something like a teacher work sample? Either way, I know how much work it is! It will be nice for you to have a break I loved having the month of December off from school... this new college I am in doesn't do that, though It will be hard for me - I know I will be wanting to do Christmas crafts instead of homework! I hope you can pop in here from time to time. Miss you!

Ruthie- I completely understand! How are you liking your new position? Thanks for the birthday wishes! The freeze actually isn't as hard as I thought it would be, mostly because I haven't even had time to scrap! Being so busy, I don't even feel like scrap shopping much.

Loni- It's so nice to have a sibling who understands you! Neither of my brothers understand me... but they have come a long way! Yes, let's try to get our to-do lists done before Thanksgiving! We can take turns holding Jack!!

Tessa- I am SO thankful for all of you, too! It's awesome to have made friends here at Two Peas that understand the craziness of this hobby! Ugh, that stinks that your ankle is still swollen. Hopefully it starts healing faster now! Brrr... it is so cold to be outside! It's about the same temp here - high was 29 and low 16. There are a lot of holiday festivities going on this weekend, but it's too cold to be outdoors!

J = Justin, my oldest brother! Even though we didn't grow up around each other, we got really close in our 20's. He has been there for me through thick and thin! Since he moved away last year, it makes me realize just how much I miss him!

What are you doing today Monica? I'm finishing my Nano today! Then I can scrap and do Christmas crafts.

Q - Quality time with my daughter on Monday's when I get to work from home!

What's everyone up to today? We were hit with a huge snowstorm last night and this morning it's awesome! I'm off until next Monday. Crafts and playing are planned for today.

Have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow!

R- is for rest, because sometime we can't have enough for it.

Hey guys! I haven't been on this whole month, because my college applications are due this Sunday. I finally finished and am having a crafty day with my friend today.

We were supposed to have 100% snow on Monday, but all we got was freezing rain.

Finally checking in this month - it's been a while!!

Loni, congrats on finishing your nano!

I'm in Austin right now visiting my boyfriend's family, and will be here until the end of the week. I was hoping it would be a nice, warm vacation, but it's been freezing the last few days, and it only warmed up today! But oh well, still better than being at work

T - Time to spend with family and catching up on all the things on my to-do list!!

Might not be able to check in for a while, so Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
