How exciting for you!

I've had a Mac laptop for several years after a frustrating time owning a PC. The programs that have worked well for me are:

PSE for photo editing, creating the printables on my blog, and word art
Picasa for photo viewing/organization
Growly Notes - it's a free application that you can create notebooks in, it keeps all my scrapbook inspiration, recipes, event planning, and what not organized

I just got an iPhone last month and have gotten hooked on Instagram.

Have a blast with your new toys and be sure to scrapbook about it!

We are a Mac family too. You will really love the ease of use. If you had a android then most of those app should be available for your iPhone. I bought the canon selphy c900 wireless just to use with my iPhone and iPad.

Sorry, but I really do not have that many apps for my phone or computer that are specifically for scrap booking other than photoshop, instagram, pinterest and picasa.

I have a MAC and and iPhone. My first piece of advice would be to be sure and turn on photo streaming - that way when you take a picture on your phone it streams to iPhoto on your MAC. Speaking of iPhoto, I'm curious as to why the love for Picasa when you have iPhoto? I love the way iPhoto organizes the photos and the ease of making minor adjustments. For the more complicated fixes I use PSE.
I tend to think of Picasa as a program for those unfortunate PC users who don't have iPhoto. Am I missing something?
For Project Life users I would recommend the app "collect" for the iPhone. It brings up a calendar, you take a picture and can add a caption. It automatically inserts the date on a polaroid type layout which you can print in 3 x 4. So darn cute.

I use iPhoto to organize my photos. It will come with your computer. I separate them into events and view them by date. I've used it for years and love it. You can do some very basic photo editing with it, but that's not its strong point.

I downloaded Picasa because someone recommended it for photo editing and it automatically imported all my photos. I have no idea how they're organized in there, other than possibly by date.

@DrDiva - there is great information here on Google's help page and here, a tutorial site. If you have a quick question, feel free to drop me a message and I'll try to help!

@gerryglow - I've tried iPhoto a couple of times in the past and it just wasn't for me. I don't think you're "missing" anything.

Mac and iPhone user for many years. My favorite programs/apps to use are Evernote (great on Mac, iPhone) Photoshop Elements, Day One (available for both) Weather apps for taking screenshots on iPhone (there are several that are free, just choose your favorite). I also use iPhoto a lot, as well as PE Organizer and Adobe Lightroom
