Just wondering how many of you are finishing PL 2013, have given up, will never do again, or ready for the next year?
I've just resurrected my March PL 2013. I've been going through a creative rut as of late (due to the self-driven need to create 'art' on my pages). That wasn't happening, so I brought back the PL with a no pressure attitude of just getting the photos and journaling cards in the pockets and it worked!
I'm just doing a double spread for each month, and I think (hope I don't jinx myself), I'll be able to finish it.
I think this year will be it for me for PL.
What are your thoughts?

i'm stillcin June of 2013 (we had a major house renovation so everything was on hold for a while). I still have hopes of both getting 2013 and keeping up with 2014, but I think the rest of 2013 is going to be done very simply, almost no embellishing. I can always go back and add embellishments later if I feel inspired.

This year will hopefully go better both because the reno. is over and because I got a selphy so I don't have to rely on my dh's printing schedule. He really enjoys editing and printing, but I don't enjoy waiting for him to get to it.

I'm looking forward to continuing my PL. I only do it monthly, but I love how it provides a place for stories and photos that I wouldn't normally scrap a full layout for.

I'm ending at Thanksgiving because I launched into my December Daily on Dec. 1 and it seems silly to duplicate me efforts in each album.

I can't believe it but I think I'm actually going to get my PL 2013 finished in 2013! I am stopping at Nov 30 because I'm doing a December album. I'm a little behind - I still need to do September and October and the last 2 weeks of November. But I have kept up for the most part and enjoyed this project. I plan to switch to monthly in 2014. I love traditional Scrapbooking and with limited time I found I often only worked on my project life album in 2013 because I didn't want to get behind and while it was a fun album, I don't feel the need to document every week of my life again right now.

Yes, I am completing weekly PL for 2013...and starting monthly PL in 2014.

I go back and forth with the years---
2011-divided page protecters,
2012-divided page protectors AND traditional layouts,
2013 -divided page protectors. I miss doing traditional again so I may be including traditional with divided in 2014 as I did in 2012.

I am up to date for 2013, 3 weeks left to go, so I will finish. Pretty much decided yesterday to at least try going digital in 2014. I think that might help me tremendously. Quicker to pull the pages together (no printing/pulling out all my paper supplies/figuring out what embellishment or label matches, etc), and I think by eliminating Project Life in the physical form, I'll be more excited to do some traditional layouts. Right now I'm a little burnt out on the paper Project Life. I'm keeping up, but finding it more of a chore and time consuming than I'd like it to be.

I just wanted to pop in here and encourage you Peas to keep at it. I do both PL and traditional layouts and hands down my kids (ages 10 and 13) gravitate towards the PL albums 10 times more than the layouts. I think it's because they can look at events that just happened, and they love all of the memorabilia and art work of theirs that I include.

I am leaving a couple of links to some PL posts at my blog that might be of help to you.

This one is on my PL process step by step

I'm finishing up November. I hope to have December finished the first week of January.

I'm going to do it digitally in 2014. I'll have the 12x12 printed at Costco. I'm mixing PL and traditional in my 2014 album as I scrap chronologically.

I hope to make more cards in 2014. Creating PL digitally will give me more time to make cards and it will feel less like a chore.

Cheers from Southeast Sunny Florida!

I'm finishing up November. I hope to have December finished the first week of January.

I thought about giving it up in 2014. But, I went to my PL class at the LSS. I shared my album with the instructor. I realized how much has happened during 2013, even for our boring lives.

I'm going to do it digitally in 2014. I'll have the 12x12 printed at Costco. I'm mixing PL and traditional in my 2014 album as I scrap chronologically. I add cards we receive for occasions, postcards, newspaper articles, ect....

I hope to make more cards in 2014. Creating PL digitally will give me more time to make cards and it will feel less like a chore.

Started my very first PL album (mini) last month, highlighting monthly events since January 2013. Surprisingly fast, using my Selphy. Just have to add November and December 2013 pics, journaling, and done!

Starting my first 12x12 PL album January 1, 2014. Mixing pocket pages with traditional 12x12 layouts, highlighting memories of each month (not weekly or daily).

I've always avoided chron-style, and only scrapped by subject, but after using PL products, it has really made my "catch up" process much faster, and I'm enjoying the process with no pressure.

I am on track to finish 2013.

On the fence about 2014. If I do it, I will do it more simply (I take too many photos).

I'm hoping to finish it. I was so spotty the first six months without a Selphy as getting to CVS is a hassle to get my prints done. It just never seemed to happen. Now that I can print on demand I've done my best to catch up. There's weeks in there that still need to be recorded, but it's better than nothing. I'm hoping to finish it, and finish 2012 too!

For 2014 I want to be different. I want to include more, but also document less. I seem to focus on stupid little details to fill in space, that's just weird. I want to record things like what songs we listened to, what movies we watched, current events in the world, stuff like that instead. I also want to go back to the 12x12 format where I glued cards to paper instead of pocket pages. It opens up a lot more options with layout. I've joined a PL kit club this year as well so I'm hoping that will keep me motivated and focused.

I'm definitely finishing up. This will be my second year doing and completing project life & I absolutely love my albums. I work on my album every 2 weeks, so I stay caught up & there's only a few weeks left! I'm incorporating what I would have made a separate December Daily book for, right into my PL album this year to simplify my holiday crafting!

I'm also excited to start up next year. In 2014 I'm looking to keep it simple, with few to no inserts, less photo heavy spreads with more journaling... I think, if I have a lot of photos I want to include, I'm going to make more collages to fit them in.

What can I post about?

I gave up in March. Got busy, kids were home for summer and even with a home printer, I wasn't printing pics as quickly as I should have been.

Wondering if I should switch to a monthly focus for a more reasonable goal for next year!

I'm finishing - just 3 weeks left to do. I plan on doing it next year, and I want to do it weekly again, but I have got to figure out a way to be more consistent on how many photos I take each week. Some weeks I have what feels like a million photos and others I feel like I only have 2.

I'm on Week 50 of my PL 2013. I do it weekly. Already filled 3 12x12 albums.
2014 I want to try keeping down to 2 albums. I guess I have too much to put inside.
I put my 12x12 layouts and most of my kids school works inside too.
Every tuesday is my project life scraping time I spend around 1-1.5 hr weekly on it.
Just love looking at it everyday.

I will definitely finish my 2013 album, probably not in 2013, but in January for sure. Right now I'm in mid October, so not too far behind. This is my first year finishing a pl album and while it's not every single day, it's most days and I absolutely love the way it turned out.

I'm looking forward to doing my 2014 pl album, maybe keeping it a little simpler trying not to worry about so many embellies & focusing more on journaling. I'm a picture heavy scrapper and I'd like to do a little less pics and more journaling for next year.

I recently had an opportunity to catch up from Halloween to current. I will finish up this year and take a break. I did Project Life in 2009, 2012 and 2013. I neglected my regular scrapbooks, so I am ready for a PL break. I created my own 4 x 6 and 4 x 4 cards, all with corners rounded, photos rounded, and made a majority of my own embellishments. I ordered my page protectors and bought two 12 x 12 albums to fill each six months. I did not purchase any PL core kits, with the exception of 2009 when PL debuted. (I bought Becky Higgins in 2009) I am a do it yourself-er. I make a lot of my own stuff. It's a lot of work. Good luck to all who see a light at the end of the 2013 tunnel.

I'm a bit behind. But inspired to finish this year up (albeit a bit more simply perhaps), for sure! It's my first year doing PL, and I still love it Super inspired to get started for 2014 as well. Probably will do less of a weekly format, and more of a monthly-type. We'll see. I realized last week, I've slowed down on my picture taking the last few weeks...just getting busier here, I guess? What-evs. I'm going to work on it today, and be very happy to get more caught-up

I got behind earlier this year and hadn't done anything between April until I started catching up in October. I caught up in October, then caught up for October. Now I just have November and December to do. I just need to wait until my H is home next week so I can get through it, but I know I will. (Well, except for the parts of December that haven't happened yet.)

I'm doing the DD, but I only do holiday stuff in that album and do the everyday stuff in PL.

Thanks for all your answers!
It seems like March is the month to give up...correlates to the decline in gym attendance - New Year's resolution to work out fizzes out by March.

I stopped at March because of selling & staging our home, moving, unpacking, etc.
What made it doable to pick it up again was getting an accordion-style folder where I'd thrown in receipts, school projects/kids art, and notes of important dates or funny things kids said. The accordion folder has tabs by month, so it made it super easy.

I think half the battle is simplifying it:
*I'm working only with 2 lines of paper collections: Simple Stories Sn@p! Life and Documented. *I don't do print outs, don't search for the 'perfect' embellishments in my stash. I pulled out these two collections, some tiny alpha stickers, some washi tape and that's it. I'm forcing myself to only work with what's on my table and it's really speeding up the processes by not wasting time looking for more in my stash.
*Printing at home is a BIG time saver for me. I really put off getting a home photo printer - couldn't justify the cost per print when Costco is so much cheaper. But then I'd wait to edit a large batch of photos to order, and I'd put off scrapping.

I'm motivated by this....

hands down my kids (ages 10 and 13) gravitate towards the PL albums 10 times more than the layouts.

ditto....My family loves looking at PL! I don't scrap chrono, but there's something about looking through chrono scrapped moments that people gravitate to.

I think I'm done through April, and then have a few random weeks here and there since then! I do have a lot of pictures printed and waiting, and some notes (though not every week) stuck in the page protectors.

I combined a few weeks when we just didn't have as many pictures.

One thing that really helped me was to pre-fill my album with the full year's worth of divided protectors (I just use design A, so that makes it easy). I dated each week, and also stuck a handful of 8 1/2x 11 page protectors in the back. So then during the year it's easy to pop in a receipt or a post-it with notes to remember, or to grab an extra page protector for a piece of DS's artwork.

I will be finishing the album. I stay fairly caught up. Right now all my pics are printed and current - each spread represents two weeks for us. I just need to catch up on some journaling here and there.

I am planning on approaching 2014 the same way. It's been working well and everyone loves these albums.

I stayed strong until August. That is where I am stuck now. I'll need to do some major catch up!

As for next year...I'm not doing PL. I'm over it in many ways. I may use a SC Handbook to just document the year but nothing as intense as PL.

I'm many months "behind" but will play catch up at a retreat I'm going to next month. I'll take a break from PL in 2014 or maybe do monthly. I'll keep pocket-page scrapping though for most things.

I'm in a habit of taking almost daily pics now and it will be a hard habit to break

I will be new to PL in 2014. I don't plan on doing it daily or weekly. I'm just doing the style to document my puppy's training and our RV adventures. So two different albums in the PL style.

I take so long to do each spread. Like the OP, I have the self-driven need to make it look so fancy! LOL. I would say I have half the year done so that's something... and I do love looking back at it. I have a partial album for 2012 as well. I try try try to focus on what I have done rather than what I haven't gotten done. It makes me feel better. It's a love/hate relationship I have with PL. Tonight I'm going to see what I can get done. It's supposed to be such a simple thing but nothing about my PL is simple. I can't even just print out my photos. First they have to to to PSE and get edited, then they have to get cropped, resized and printed. UGH! HATE IT!

My 2013 is done through week before Thanksgiving, but I started late (beginning of summer). I would like to try to go backwards to make it the complete year but I wasn't consistent with taking pictures for those earlier months. Definitely doing 2014 since I've really enjoyed the pl process - it's a better fit for me than traditional Scrapbooking, plus I have a bunch of fun supplies on my Xmas list which I can't wait to get and use!

I started PL this year after just getting back into scrapbooking after taking many years off. I did it weekly this year and am surprised that I am caught up to this week! I got behind back in the spring/summer for a while while we were painting our house then agin when during baseball season. Thanks to a couple of weekend crops with friends I got caught up both times!

Our PL album is definitely everyone's favorite album to look at! I've never journaled so much and it is 100% real life - the good and the bad.

I went to another crop this past weekend and scrapped 2 whole years PL style! Love it!

In 2014 I want to make sure to include more headline news stories. I need to make a "in the news this month" card to include in the last week of each month. Anyone seen a freebie printable card like this anywhere?

My last completed week is in August but I plan on finishing even if it is slapping photos in and putting in filler cards. My son loves to go back through the albums and actually I do to. I have Dec. 19 through Jan 6 off this year so I will really be using that time to complete my album. Speaking of which I need to stock up on printer ink and paper.

I am going to finish but do a "monthly" spread for December to get myself done. I just finished November a couple weeks ago just using the Grateful Facebook posts and coverting them into journaling and adding just a few pictures. This was a fun way to capture a whole month and get it done

November DONE!

I also have most of October so I may do a monthly style for that, too, or one pagers for each week I am undecided

I only started PL 3/4 through this year but I'm planning to finish it and am doing okay, although due to health issues I'm not bang up to date. I am making sure to take enough pictures though, so I can catch up when I'm better.

I'm planning to do 2014, especially because I'm pregnant with my second little one (due xmas eve) and look forward to having her whole first year recorded week by week. I love that PL has let me document all the little details of my 17 month old daughter week by week. What new words she's said this week, what foods she likes this week etc.

7 years to get here... So now what?

I really love the concept of PL but I know I couldn't possibly do it weekly. I don't have enough material! LOL In 2012 I thought I could do a 12-12-12 type of thing but that lasted for all of January and I couldn't even keep up with that. However, in 2014 my goal is to once again attempt to do a monthly layout documenting each month throughout the year. I have a new camera... maybe that will help. Fingers crossed!

2013 was my fourth year doing PL. The first three years I used BH kits and nothing else - this year I went "arty" and used bits of Simple Stories Sn@p and other products. I'm trying to catch up from August.
Next year I'm going back to BH "Rain" edition. I don't know if I'll do it after that. I like it, but five years seems a good place to have a rest from it. I am running out of things to take. And the albums take up so much space. I'm thinking more about photo books.

First of all, congratulations--if you want to do it, I know you can do it--your way.
I bought stuff for last year and it did not go well, then I tried in oct/nov and it worked. I just completed that album and have started on my second year (our project newlywed album)--and I really am loving it.
I'm not doing any of the kit clubs this year, but I have supplies AND can always pick up things at 2peas, m's or even HL (with the odd LSS thrown in). I love that I picked it up and made it work for me, and that I stuck with it (granted, there were times I had to print 2 or 3 weeks in a row--thank goodness I write a pl note in my daily planner.

Again, good luck!

I do PL by taking the photos and then scrapping them in the traditional style. I kept up through August and then I've taken photos many days but not all. I'll do more layouts. I won't however repeat next year. I did this in 2010 and every few years is plenty. Not that much changes around here to take a photo and document every day. It does get me to take more photos though and have more everyday moments for my albums.

I am doing it digitally this year for the 3rd time. I also did one year traditionally. I found it a lot to keep up with this year so for 2014 I think I am just going to do a photo book with text that I make pages for every couple of weeks. I am totally past caring about the creative aspect of it and just want to have the details recorded.
