Just FYI -- I have contacted Studio Calico multiple times over a number if months to cancel my subscription. Not only have they refused and are still charging me for merchandise, but they enrolled me Ina subscription to their card kit and are charging me for that as well!! I have never made cards, and never intend to do so. Those of you considering joining a monthly kit club might want to bypass this one, or you're likely to be paying in perpetuity!

It took them 3 months to cancel mine. I kept getting the 'are you sure?' emails. Yeah, I'm sure.

Not a big fan of their business practices at the moment. Sounds as if some of the design team members weren't either. Thats cool, they don't get my $$ so they are free to do what they want.

I would make sure to start a convo with them to make sure they understand no means no. If not, I'd be contacting my credit card company and disputing charges. If they won't deal with you directly, you can get their attention real fast by disputing charges.

I opened a ticket/convo last night to cancel my PL kit as I'm not using the items. They responded today asking if there was anything different I would have liked to have seen in the kits and confirmed my subscription was cancelled.

ETA: the PL subscription was up for renewal the end of this month and I'm still getting the scrapbook kit.

I cancelled mine a couple months back as I am just not creating much these days and do not want kits building up.

They responded straight away to let me know it was cancelled.

Hope they fix this for you soon.

I was able to cancel mine without any problems at all. I opened a convo with them on their website and it worked no problem.

Why haven't you gone to your CC company? I'm sure if you begin disputing charges, it will force them to cancel as you have requested.

One thought, is it possible to ban a company from charging your card? Not sure how that should be worded, sorry.

Wouldn't opting you in to a kit, without your consent, be considered CC fraud?

Sadly, this is just one more reason to avoid SC.

Hopefully this will be resolved to your satisfaction soon.

I will second the file a dispute with your CC company. If they refuse to cancel at your request (AND add a new su, they are in the wrong and your next step is getting it stopped from your end.

Wow...I've been out of the loop since September . I thought they had cleaned up their act...a little .

I'm embarrassed to admit it because I swore I wouldn't give them another dime of my money but I joined in August (just PL) when they were running a promotion and I've really enjoyed it . The kits so far have been spot on for me.
OP, that is your cc company and charge it back. I guess the Fosters will never learn .

I was wondering if there was some new sh*t storm gong on because I keep getting emails with surveys asking me how I liked so and so kit, what do I want to see more of/less of. I'm not surprised just embarrassed I got sucked back in.

When I cancelled mine I got the "are you sure" and after reading many of the nightmare deals on here I wrote back and said yes and I would be disputing all charges immediately so please cancel now.
I didn't have an issue.
I hope you get this resolved quickly!

I didn't have a problem canceling. I didn't even get a "are you sure". I just told them that their kits did not fit my style, that I was unhappy with the lack of content. Told them that I fulfilled my 6 month contract and was giving them plenty of notice and if I was charged for another months kit after receiving this email I would dispute the charges. I had no problems. They pretty much said ok thx.

I too was able to cancel one of my subs by starting a conversation with them. No problem.

I always read these threads and sort of scratch my head. Any canceling or refund issues I've had - and I've been buying there nearly 3 years - have all be taken care of within 24 hours. But so many others have had claims like this, about subs not being cancelled for another month, not receiving refunds, etc. I don't understand the how there can be so many discrepancies in customer service on their end.

Same here. I had subbed for 3 years, decided to try something new, sent the cancellation request, got 1 "are u sure" email, replied yes I'm sure, and it was cancelled no problem. I guess I was fortunate to have great customer service the entire time.

Seriously, the way they can cancel some people's subs within 24 hours and others get the run around with annoying "are you sure" emails....I would report them to the better business bureau. It may not solve your specific issue, but at least they will have a documented record of abusive business practices.

When I emailed for cancellation, I got an are you sure. To which I replied yes. And it was cancelled immediately. I never had issues. Hope your issue gets a quick positive resolution .

Similar to others I got two are you sure emails but then it was cancelled with a request for ideas for improvements which I provided. I have had pretty good experiences over all with SC. A few funny CS issues (getting different outcomes to other people with the same issues), but in general the CS is great and I loved the kits. I only cancelled my subscriptions to get through a backlog of kits I have.

Whenever I unsub from any kind of club I always edit my CC info so they cannot charge me again. My bank told me to do this, and to use either a repeating number or to use 123456789 because no company uses those numbers and that way someone else won't fraudulently get charged. I also edit my address to something like 123 Anystreet, Anycity, USA. But that's because if I do decide to stop doing business with someone, I want to stop doing business with them. I can always change it later if I want to re-start.

When I cancelled my SB sub there maybe six months ago, I got the "are you sure?" email, but then they cancelled it. I am sorry you are having issues.

I just last week cancelled my third sub with SC - main reason for cancelling was that I just don't really love the kit thing it turns out. Each time, I had a pretty good experience. I sent a message via my account saying I would like to cancel a specific kit, and each time I got an email back saying "are you sure... ?". I would respond immediately with "Yes I am sure. Please proceed with my request to cancel" and within a day I got a confirmation of it being cancelled. No issues. I do find it annoying that you get the "are you sure?" message, but I do understand their rationale behind it. When I worked in banking, if a customer came in to close an account, we had to do the "are you sure, is there anything we can do to keep you" spiel. But, again, as soon as I replied they cancelled it.

I'm wondering if you took advantage of one of their recent promotions where you get a free kit or other deal in exchange for continuing your sub for 6 months? And maybe you accidentally clicked the card sub, too? They've had several of those in the past few months.

I've been a subber for almost 6 years now and have always had great customer service from SC.

I had a slight problem that really was my fault. But they fixed it right away. I think a second conversation to be opened should solve the problem. Sorry you have had a problem.

Another thought - how are you contacting them? I think all communication has to go through your dashboard on the site by opening a conversation. This took the place of email awhile back.

Weird! They cancelled mine right away a couple of months ago. I knew they'd send the "are you sure" so I told them not to send that; I was already sure.

But I still get their emails as if I'm still a member -- the ones about the reveals and add-ons that go to subscribers only.

I just canceled my monthly scrapbook sub, but kept my PL and card subs. I started the convo through my dashboard. I got the "are you sure?" reply. I responded yes and my scrapbook sub was removed. If it helps, Amanda assisted me. I always have good customer service with Amanda. I was dealing with another CSR on another issue and was ready to drop all my subs, but Amanda stepped in.

How are you paying for these subscriptions?

If by credit card, call your credit card now and dispute the charges and let them you have been trying to cancel and they will not do so. Let them know that you do not want any more charges from this compnay.

Also, contact your lcoal BBB and if you have to, the state attorney's office.

I had an issue with them when I tried to cancel also. Then the person I dealt with was extremely rude. I won't do business with them or recommend them ever again,

I had to go back and forth with them a few times--I answered their questions and still got more 'well, we would hate to see you lose your great benefits...' messages.
Until I finally stated that I was contacting my CC AND the BBB in order to file a complaint and a stop payment.

Then they had no problem cancelling it.

I canceled all three of my subs this past summer and had zero issues. Strange how its such a headache for some people. Makes no sense that they are being difficult w some members and not others! I'm sorry to hear it!
