I need feedback on something. One of my goals for 2014 is to get all of my photos organized and printed. My biggest dilemma is that I feel like I have pictures everywhere. I have pictures on FB that my friends have tagged me in, pictures on my phone, pictures on my friends husbands and sons phones (that they always conveniently forget to send me) and my big camera. I want to easily be able to just send these photos somewhere instantly and have them archived by date. I have such a love / hate relationship with technology because with all of the social media and ease and relatively good quality (sometimes better than real cameras) of cell phones, pictures never get archived or printed. I had a very hard time switching from a film camera to digital because of this very reason. I was afraid I would never get my pictures printed. I am also very OCD when it comes to printing pictures. I have to have them sorted by event or date range in individual photo envelopes with the index sheet adhered to the outside of it. I've decided I'm going to upload them to Walgreens or somewhere similar in the small batches so I think I'm good with that aspect. Any suggestions on the rest?

I really don't have this multiple camera problem but I'll bump it up for you.

sounds like you have a good plan. I don't know any easy/organized way to do it. You can put dates on them when you get them on your computer.

And the King will tell them, when you did it to one of the least of these, you were doing it to me.

You could use DropBox or Flickr to share photos from other people's phones. Or if you have iPhones you can set up photostreams to share photos. Then you will have to save those photos to your own camera roll.

Import all your photos into the same folders by date and you will have them all organized. Think of the folders as your "digital" envelopes.

Watching this thread. I also like to have my photos grouped by theme/activity/date. So I have lots of folders. Then what happens after printing? I just recently printed photos TWICE! I did not realize I had already ordered prints and did it a second time for the same group of photos. I guess I need to move them to a "printed folder."

One comment about iphone pics shared to you via photo stream. I was able to use the costco app to upload pics my MIL shared with me via photostream. I didn't have to save them to my own photo roll. I haven't tried yet, but I wonder if I can back them up to my laptop as well.
