After spending the last two years completing two advanced degrees and my gifted endorsement, moving, planning a wedding, and welcoming a new granddaughter into the world, I finally feel like I have time to scrapbook again! All my supplies have been packed up since I moved. I finally started unpacking boxes today and I am completely overwhelmed. I have so much stuff! How do you get back into it after such a long break? What has worked for you?

Hello! I can relate to your post. As I was going through a divorce/separation most of my scrapbook stuff was in packing boxes for quite some time. Most of the places I was living at the timing (moving and moving again) didn't allow for the space for me to scrap, living in studio flats and such. What helped me get back into it (before I could unpack things) was doing a modified version of Project Life (using the Simple Stories Sn@p albums) and as well doing a bit of smashing with the K&Co Smash books (as both these didn't require that I had a lot of supplies or space to hand).
Maybe you could start with something like this.

Hope this helps!

Hi! Welcome back!

There are a number of people who can relate. I think I've seen a few peas that have taken long breaks (me included, I haven't actually considered myself a scrapper for about 3.5 years). So there is a wealth of info on how to get back into it. I'm sure you'll have a lot of great ideas in no time.

We've moved also, once internationally, and two (going on 3) different states in the last 3 years, had a ton of my stuff in storage for years, and just built and moved into our house in June last year.

There are a lot of new products and trends at the moment which are quite inspiring and I'm finding myself wanting to buy for the first time in ages, and with CHA just around the corner too! It will be great to see the new stuff, check out the sneak peeks and see what gets your mojo going. I'm just getting my mojo back right now but I did purge a few months ago, all the stuff that I knew I wouldn't use and no longer liked, which actually helped quite a bit.

I stopped scrapping for a year or so when we were renovating the kitchen (did all the work ourselves), and other family stuff.

I found a couple of scrapping buddies. Scrapping with someone helped get me going, and if I got stuck for ideas on what to do with my pictures, they made suggestions.

I've been scrapping ever since.

Thank you ladies. These are all great suggestions. I spent the afternoon today going through boxes and organizing stuff. I still have a ton to do but at least I can walk through the room now! I bought a Heidi Swapp small journal that I plan on starting with. I also have some to-go kits that I put together in large zip lock bags a long tome ago that were easy to take to crops that I can get started with because everything I need except for adhesive and pens are in the bags. I really do need to find some friends to scrap with. I have a HUGE empty family room in my basement that would be great for group scraps. I also have plenty of room in my craft room for a couple of other ladies to join me there. I feel motivated!!

OP, where in GA are you? I don't know anyone around here who scraps either.

I'm in Powder Springs, Ga which is about 30 minutes west of Atlanta. Are you anywhere near me?

Aww, bummer. No, unfortunately I'm not. I'm about 50 mins from Augusta, GA, over the border in sc.

Though I'm pretty sure there are some peas in your area somewhere. Hopefully they'll chime in.
