Hi all, I have some Christmas money and decided to purchase some SB tools with it as I thought this would be a good investment (who needs new clothes?! ha!)

So I am after some advice on punches, which are the ones you reach for over and over? Including shapes and border punches... or any others you may use regularly? (I only own one border punch (Fiskars threading water) and would like some more.)

Heart punches of all shapes, stars in all shapes, an EK Success label are my go-to faves. I have a few circles but don't use them as often as the others.

Jenni Bowlin tab punch. I use this for dates on about 80% of my Los. EK has a tab punch that gives you 3 different shapes that I like very much too. Threading water is my favorite border along with Apron Lace. I also like the plain scallop border. I have an expression, but use that mainly for titles. I like the convenience of my punches and have built up a collection of circles which I use a lot to make my own embellishments. I layer them along with a couple of scallop circles. As for shapes, Wah!I don't have very many but I could not make it without a variety of butterflies (I have 3 small and 1 large by Martha Stewart), a large EK and a small one by Jenni Bowlin. I also have a small heart and star (I would like to add larger hearts and stars to my collection). These are the punches I would be unhappy not to have. I admittedly have another 10 or more border punches.

Good luck with your shopping!

I have several sizes of circles, and a couple of scalloped circles as well. I think these are the most versatile for me. I also like my Martha Stewart butterflies and flowers.

I have a variety of graduated circles and scallop circles. I use these a TON! But I'm also a card maker and use them a lot on my cards and with stamps too.

I put in another vote for Jenni B's tab punch. It's a fave!

Another one I use often (thanks to Jen Gallacher here at 2peas) is my Martha Stewart photo corner punch. Oh how I love that baby!

One I use a ton from Nov through about Feb is a Martha Stewart snowflake. It's about 1 1/2-2" big and it's just a great size and cute shape.

I also have a Silhouette, so the punches I own have to be things I need quick and use often. The above definitely make the cut!

I like the notebook edge punch, and circle punches, and Martha stewart butterfly punch. I do have some other ones but those ones I go to a lot.

I definitely use my corner rounder punch a lot and I use circles and stars of various sizes. I have scalloped circles and hearts and butterflies as well but don't use those as often as I find myself doing layouts about my two nephews a lot of the time.

For me it's EK success border punches. I am a birder punch addict. After that, it's circles in different sizes, hexagons in different sizes and Mickey Mouse punches as I do a lot of Disney layouts.

I love the smell of card stock in the morning.....

The Movie poster that is my avatar is very special cause my husband is in it and it won best film at the Canadian Film Festival in 2012. See it......It's super funny.

Circles and Scallop Circles are the ones I use the most. I've lucked out by finding some other Fiskars punches that I don't use as frequently (cloud, heart, etc.) at Tuesday Morning for less than $5.

I use my half inch and one inch circle punches a lot more than I thought I would for flower centers and alpha backgrounds. The Martha Stewart doily lace edge punch also gets a workout. It cuts beautiful edges for layering.

I've looked online at six different places (including 2peas) for the Jenni Bowlin tab punch with no luck. Is it a discontinued item?

I found a "Jenni's Label" squeeze punch by Jenni Bowlin for Fiskars. Is that similar to her tab punch?

Another vote here for the notebook edge punch. I have EK success and use it all the time for random borders and often for my journaling blocks as I use ruled paper (from CM) for journaling.
I think I need to buy this tab punch now... such enabling!

I'd definitely add a scallop border punch...I like the larger one from Fiskars...embossed scallop I think it is called. I scrap girls and boys photos...I use scallops, doilies, circles and hearts on many of those pages. On the boys pages I use star borders, stars and circles. Notebook border and postage border punches are both versatile too. There's a newer one that came out last year I think...it makes a flag shape - one side notched in - I use that all the time now on both girl & boy layouts.
