My girls are wanting me to add monograms to all kinds of things - so I'm looking for your favorite font.

For monograms - I love Monogram KK. It's free. If you want to buy one similar that is just a little nicer get Vine.

If they are too thin - use the offset function and thicken up those lines a little. Don't go overboard, or you lose the definition, but if you offset to 0.015 it will give those super thin line a little more thickness.

To type out the monogram - use lower case for the outside letters UPPERCASE for the center letters. You can use character spacing in the silhouette software to move them closer together

Not for monograms, but for simple sayings or text you want to be readable at a distance, Franklin Gothic Heavy is great. I made a little sign for my back windshield and I love how easy it is to read.

I'm planning to make some decals for my new craft room. Anyone know how long you need to let new paint dry and cure before putting adhesive vinyl on?

I would let the paint cure at least a week. Vinyl doesn't stick to the new low-VOC paints, if you are using those.

I cut cardstock and vinyl titles etc. at a few retreats last summer and a script font that lots of people liked was Grand Hotel. It's a thicker font so it's a little easier to work with, and it's free.

As for how long to wait before sticking vinyl onto fresh paint, everything I've read has said to wait at least two weeks for the paint to cure before applying vinyl. I waited about a month before putting anything up and didn't have any problems.

Hope this helps!
