RA- the co-founder of Creative Memories- left the "new" company Ahni&Zoe by Creative Memories over the weekend. She has gone with Heritage Makers, a digital scrapbook company, and is working with their parent company to start a new line of traditional scrapbooking supplies that sounds like it will attempt to replicate the original CM supplies: strap hinge albums, etc.

Anyone want to place bets on how long before Ahni & Zoe goes belly up?

Seriously does anyone really care anymore? I started scrapbooking with CM, but life goes on. There are so many other really great companies out there to spend my money with.

I have to agree with amom23. I am over CM. It was nice when I started and it was my springboard. There is just so much more out there and I enjoy using products from many different companies. It will be interesting to see how long the new digital stays around.

I found this quote very telling
“I will have so much more control over this new mission…My voice got quieter and quieter and quieter over there.â€
Not sure about the move to Heritage Makers. Aren't they all digital? I wish her success but I think that direct marketing is a big gamble right now no matter the product.
PS even though I am very familiar with CM I had no idea what the names of the founders are. You may want to add CM In the title for those like me!

|Posted: 2/26/2014 10:10:35 AM|This has been such a whirlwind the past few days. I really think Ahni & Zoe are on their last legs and won't last much longer. It was a big mistake to turn their back on loyal customers and search out a whole new customer base of "time-starved" moms when you're business plan hinges on parties. Time-starved people don't have time for direct sales parties! Plus their products aren't very good - IMHO. This whole CM/AZ/now HM thing is frankly, a mess...but certainly interesting! I blogged about it today here - Lisa's Workshop.

Who needs all their drama? Seriously. It's just paper and adhesive. No thank you.

I know to a lot of people CM was just another scrapbooking company but for many people it's much more than that. Many lost their retirement funds. Make A Wish & the Breast Cancer Research Foundation is missing money owed to them by Creative Memories/Ahni & Zoe. People lost their source of income - some that their family depended on. Personally, as a CMC for over 12 years it meant much more to me than just scrapbooking supplies.

I'm happy for those who enjoyed purchasing the CM products that they may be making a return to the market. There was definitely a void left for many consumers and consultants. I wish her good luck with this reproduction.

I just got an email from my CM/AZ consultant that she is jumping ship and going over to the new company, Heritage Makers. She must not have a no-compete clause. She was with them for almost 20 years, and embraced the new company very enthusiastically and professionally, at least to her clients. Things must be going badly with AZ.

Way, way back I used to go to CM crops, but honestly, got tired of all the, "Oh, you have 'contraband' (i.e., not CM products) in your scrapbooks." along with a look of disdain. Of course, to help support the Consultant holding the crop, I always bought some of their products while there. CMs lines were cute, but seriously, how many times were you supposed to use those cute products over and over and over again? That gets old quick!
I do have sympathy for those who only used CM products, because they were so loyal to that line and then poof, it was gone. I'm sure they felt lost for a period of time. If a company can't go with flow and provide what consumers want/need, they aren't going to make it, especially in today's economy.

I'm hoping they bring back the albums, pages, protectors, and adhesives. They were the only things I purchased from CMCs.

I'd love to see some more tools and supplies like the old CM ones. It doesn't appear that AZ is going to have those, and they were my favorite things from CM.
AZ is definitely not for me, and I do feel left high and dry by CM. All my albums and pages are CM, but I have moved away from their paper and stickers and embellishments.
My CM consultant is still holding crops, but the AZ stuff does not appeal to me at all, and I know that crops aren't in the AZ business model. I wonder how long they will be in business?
