last year's everyday posts. In the mood to scrap, was my favorite.
The format this year it's a little confusing, and I don't know, I miss the girls too!

just saying..

Disappointed with this years video format. The garden girls that I liked to watch barely have videos anymore. Shimelle and Jen are wonderful girls but my style is very different from theirs. Sad to say I've had to look elsewhere for inspiration. Just being honest!

I miss in the mood to scrap too! I also really really liked scrap your stash and 213 in 2013. I miss Lilith. I think the problem with me is that I don't quite like the whole mood board thing. Most of the videos this year are mood related or something. Before, I found it more inspirational because the stash videos helped me learn how to use my stuff..the theme and mood and all was my own. Hard to explain.

Still, I appreciate 2peas and the garden girls. But yes, if I speak honestly, I have to say that I haven't watched as many videos this year so far and I definitely am not producing as many pages as I'm not as inspired. I don't think it's the girls fault at all. I'm just finding it harder to get inspired the way the videos are right now. I'm hoping I'll just get used to it and find them more inspirational with time.

I like Glitter Girl and Jen's videos. I don't like mood board stuff. And, I really miss Five Under Five and Warehouse Walk with Kitty.

I miss some of the old member challenges.

There was a book of scraps challenge that went on for several years. I really liked that one.

There was also a monthly challenge (long time ago) where people would get points for adding various things to layouts. Different point system every month. It got a little bit crazy, but it did get me to use some things that I had previously ignored in my stash.

Absolutely! I loved watching all the videos last year. My favorites were in the mood to scrap and scrap your stash. I also loves to the project life ones. Something about watching other peoples process always made me inspired and ready to create!

I will always watch Glitter Girl because I find Shimelle inspiring. I don't "get" the whole mood board thing either, though. Okay, I do "get" it, but I don't see the point really. Not the way I am inspired, I suppose. Which is fine, people are inspired in different ways. I like watching people use product and do techniques. I don't generally have any issue picking out things to use or being inspired by my stuff. New ways to use product I haven't thought of before, new techniques or just showing off interesting product is welcomed.

With the way so many brands are showing things off with CGI mockups I REALLY appreciate seeing product on camera. Especially since my favourite brands tend to be AC and people keep saying there are issues with various items...

I miss warehouse walk and scrap your stash. I also do not really care for how everything is sorta based on the mood board. That is not how my mind works at all. I work off of my photos almost all the time and do not find inspiration the way it is being done here this year for the most part. I miss some of the GG but love the ones that are still here and I will continue to support 2 peas as much as possible.

Yes about sums it up for all of them. I really miss scrap your stash.

I've tried to get into this years format but I can't. The Garden Girls are doing a superb job of working withing it but it just is not the way I create.

sorry two peas, maybe next year will be more usable.

Yep, add me to the list of those who miss last year's line up of videos, am less inspired and seldom watch very many here any more. Having said that, I agree it's not the fault of any of the current Garden Girls - they are all VERY talented but many of their styles are somewhat different than mine. Also, like others, the mood board starting point does nothing to get my creative juices flowing.

I love the Garden Girls and the new plan of videos, I watch them everyday, but I miss the daily challenges. I miss to upload my layout and link it to a GG video by checking the challenge checkbox on the upload process. I like to share how GG inspire me and also like to see what people do after watching the videos. And, oh yes, I also miss to earn a badge to my profile. Even so, love 2peas and come here everyday. I am so thankful to them for offering so much inspiration.

I used to come and check everyday for the new video. Now I'm just confused by all of it. It's just not inspiring. I liked the set schedule and knowing exactly what was coming each day.

I'm not inspired by the mood board and the theme words. I just want to see what's new the store and how the girls are creatively using the product. I miss what the pea ordered and scrap your stash.

Ok, I'm behind the times. Have not been on as much lately and I do not have a clue what you are referring to when you talk about the "mood board". Where is it?

As far as videos, I will admit I have not watched many. If I need a pick me up, I look over the topics and choose one that sounds interesting, but I have never just sat and watched them all.

I am finding it interesting hearing what your favorites are though.

The mood board focus means that all the layouts use the same few colors for a month, which gets a little boring.

Ditto - I miss last year's weekly format. I have tried really hard to get inspiration from the mood boards but it's just not working for me. It appears the format last year was so good it has proved hard to top.

I loved the warehouse walk, five under five, personal shopper. While I think the GG's are doing the most beautiful work, really beautiful, I look at the photo's but 2peas is a shop and in the absence of a physical shop Jamie and kitty's videos have kept me up to date with what's new out, real proper close up looks of collections, boutique items etc. etc that I would never have found on my own.
I do not go and hunt through the store, page after page of thumbnails, I just don't have the time or the inclination, but that 20 minutes with a cup of tea after work just chilling out being shown what's just in was so inspiring.
I really loved personal shopper, even if the theme didn't seem immediately what I was after you could guarantee there would be something I would want. I don't need mood boards, themes etc to inspire me, I have inspiration enough. What I miss is the spark of seeing something new and going with it where ever I choose.
I miss that.

I love Glitter Girl's videos, but I miss when her videos were geared more towards our questions vs the mood board/topic of the week. I still watch and love her videos but liked them even better before.

I just still find the whole thing confusing. Which "categories" fit what I would like to see in a video, aka I do PL so which category is that? "Captured," "Moments?" I don't know. I loved knowing that I would see a PL video on each Saturday. Made sense to me then.

I really miss a lot of the old GGs too. Most of the GGs with similar styles to mine have left. Sigh....

Another pea missing the old video format. I also miss Lilth's videos. She was my personal favorite and brought me so much inpsiration in my own work. It's really not the same and I'm sad to say the latest videos, while wonderful, are not inspiring me.

For those missing the product videos, you can see some close-up shots of many products on the blog via the instagram pictures on the right side of the page. I don't "do" instagram, but I have clicked on these when something catches my eye and it often gives a better picture than the store's photo.

I haven't replied here because for most of this, I'm not sure what I could add that wasn't said in the similar thread last month. But I wanted to reply to this bit, since it's something I can answer:

I love Glitter Girl's videos, but I miss when her videos were geared more towards our questions vs the mood board/topic of the week. I still watch and love her videos but liked them even better before.

The reason I wanted to reply is because every single one of Glitter Girl's topics are still driven by things asked or mentioned by the community. Glitter Girl is still reading and still taking these questions on board! But after two years of episodes, we simply started to get to a point where so many topics had been covered, it was really difficult to find a question that would work for an episode that offered sufficient depth and hadn't been answered before. Even when a question was directed to Glitter Girl on the board (which has never been a requirement for it to be chosen), I found often I was opening those threads to either reply 'yep, we've answered that and you'll find it in episode xyz' or to find another helpful Pea had seen it first and already responded with that information. Knowing that was happening a lot in the last quarter of 2013, it seemed really difficult to carry on with exactly the same format, dependent on another 50 or so relevant questions that wouldn't just make things repeat.

There's also the little complication that I'm going to need to take a break at some point this spring. Maternity leave means I need to film some things in a different schedule than what I've used for the last two years, and I didn't want it to seem like I was answering questions from a time warp for a few months or something, when really I needed to film ahead or other such circumstance. But really, that was a minor detail in my thought process.

I still wanted to be able to take input from the comments in the community, but just needed a bit of flexibility to be able to make these topics somewhat unique, so for example, episode 102 started when I read a comment from someone who came upon the In the Mood to Scrap series later in the year and wasn't quite sure how she could put the inspiration to use, and that gave me somewhere to start, but when I was planning that episode, I also took some guidance from a discussion about scrapping Christmas in colours other than red and green and there was something that led me to that big tree photo in the background - either something about how to take those kinds of photos of the tree or how to scrap them or something like that! Episode 104 was largely a response to a thread about scrapping the less happy moments of life, but also had some design stuff led by other threads, etc.

I don't mean this as a defence and for those that don't find this year's episodes to be as inspiring so far, then I'm sorry about that. The good news for you is there are a full hundred (well, 101!) episodes in the old format and they aren't going anywhere! I'm personally finding the episodes I've filmed and the layouts I've made this year to be really rewarding to me and such a joy to make (well, my poor voice aside, but I don't think that's going to get to recover for another six weeks or so, and there's only so much hot lemon and honey can do at this point). After a hundred episodes in one format, I needed to change it up to keep it interesting for me too, but I really, really want you to know that Glitter Girl is still reading and still taking her guidance from the community discussions. She may not answer a question the week it is asked, and she will quite likely combine one question with a couple others to add depth to the episode, but she is very much still reading and listening and wanting to contribute things the Peas will find helpful. If there is something you want to see in a video from Glitter Girl or any of the Garden Girls, please start a thread on the board or comment on one of our videos or layouts. Things so simple as 'I'd love to see what _____ would do with this product' or 'any ideas for how I can use the rest of this pack of embellishments?' or 'what other lines will coordinated well with the new _____?' are SO helpful to us in providing content you want to see. We can do so much more with that sort of information.

Sorry, as always, I fail at being concise.

So very many thanks to all of you who continue to watch and support the continuing adventures of my sparkly friend. She would not be here without you!

love & glitter,

thanks for the reply Shimelle.

I applaud GG for encompassing the new format into her videos and finding inspiration from this format to continue her series. I would be DESPERATELY SAD to see GG disappear.

I am finding the new "weekly video format" difficult to follow. I think its because I am very linear: i.e. I KNOW that on Wednesday I will find a GG video. I MISS the "challenges" especially from Scrap Your Stash: MISS! MISS! MISS! this video challenge.

a mood board is not thoroughly inspiring to me. I like the idea of using the mood board of the month to create at least one LO (the challenge!). (although I have yet to do this. ha) I think I really got this idea from GG.

I applaud 2 peas for providing videos b/c i know it is time consuming and costly!!! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

I know this: I spent 2x the amount last year vs. this yr for the same time period of just 2 months....I was really inspired by the videos last year. (but I am only 1 person...would love to know the numbers at the end of the 1st quarter ) THANKS FOR ALL YA'LLs HARD WORK TWO PEAS!!!

Me too! I get the mood board concept. That's not the issue I just don't get the organization of the videos. To be honest I haven't really watched any other than the Glitter Girl videos. Nothing against the new GGs. This set up just doesn't motivate me to watch which use to motivate me to shop. And I too miss what the peanut ordered! I miss Kitty and the quirky girl that was with her! These were like short little infomercials for two peas! Lol! And the girls were so lovable. Some of the only people whose faces we saw! Everyone else is doing a process video and we don't see their faces. Almost like being in your LSS with a really enthusiastic non annoying sales clerk. I miss them.

I know they have to change things up to keep things interesting and inspirational. But maybe they just deviated to far from a formula that worked well.

I am grateful for the videos but agree this year there is not as much variation. There are only two days a week where you get a different garden girls video other than glitter girl and Jen's series. I am not trying at all to sound ungrateful, I love two peas and all the videos and inspiration but yes, it's harder that some garden girls have a weekly video and others only pop up here and there.
